  1. Mowbray seems to have his finger on the pulse in regards to wages and what players are worth to the club so hopefully sense prevails with the likes of Conway and when it comes to judging if he tries to keep any of the loans. Retaining good lads is great but you also need to constantly freshen things up with others equally as good and keen to prove a point if you can't afford better.
  2. Surely a lot of the BOI debt has been repayed as an ongoing thing otherwise they wouldn't keep lending, regardless of what it's secured on any Bank loan is a two way street.
  3. You can shove Joe Garner where the sun don't shine. Apart from that a very decent list.
  4. Add to that him and several other high profile Ruski billionaires pitching up off the coast of Scotland on their 'vacation' one year not long ago and mooching around Scottish villages and outposts, what's all that about ? He's a Putin spy if ever there was one ?
  5. That's the way it needs to go with him he just isn't a finisher but if he can develop himself into a hardworking target man type he can play a part and probably pinch a few goals. He still young enough to develop into something a bit different he just needs the right attitude and coaching. Good on him if he's buying into it.
  6. I hope they've paid for his holiday he's the first person since they've been here to actually deliver what they asked for and what he promised ! Apart from Bowyer who grew them 20 million worth of players to sell but didn't get promotion as well so got rewarded with the boot.
  7. Posted just after people were retweeting a Mowbray interview where he mentioned speaking to several Prem clubs recruitment depts. about possible loans ? Nicko the Fake.
  8. If this isn't Gordon I don't know what is .... ?
  9. I can't see any Archibald or Ardiles type signings but a Howard Gayle and Colin Hendry might be nice ? A few late charges for the play offs would certainly keep it interesting.
  10. Nixon has basically lifted those desired playing area signings straight off here.
  11. Don't forget the pay rises, bonuses and promised new contracts which will swallow a lot of the increase up straight away before any newbies.
  12. If he gets 1.5 million to actually spend without selling I think that's a small step forwards again like last season comparing to the years before that. Not great obviously but a slow patient build this time is probably the best way. Just don't spend it on the likes of Samuel or Gladwin !!!
  13. London has long been the dirty money washing capital of Europe so it's no wonder some of us ask serious questions as to why foreign owners are pitching up everywhere and so called pumping money 'in' to English clubs.
  14. That would have been a goer when a certain mob were trying their best to tie up the parachute money.
  15. Madame probably only got to know Rovers were promoted a couple of days ago when a minion alerted her to an English bloke called Tony at the gate buzzing the intercom saying he was a friend of a friend of Balaji's ?
  16. If he could get 4/500k back for Samuel and put that down as a deposit to bring in Armstrong I reckon that would be decent business although we are losing height again we are gaining pace.
  17. End of the day they are successful business people surrounded by their own finance experts and corporate law men etc. When these types get ripped off they usually move on pretty quickly and don't get ripped off again. The whole Rovers setup thing and Vll and agent partners etc is probably now all part of one giant accounting operation which serves a purpose to those involved, like the parent company, to a large extent . Yes there's been massive teething problems and collateral damage but there will also have been plenty of purposes served and benefits to be had you can be sure.
  18. Reality TV and those who sail in it are in a sad sad world it's the least real thing there is.
  19. That's how I came across the wages league table on twitter it was a Bury fan saying look our players aren't on 7 & 8k pwk. He was though struggling with the term 'average' wages and the fact some of them might be whilst others might be on 800 ?
  20. A few decent performances towards the end of the season but I think he falls into the category of wouldn't really be missed if he left or put it another way wouldn't be to hard to replace like Lowe wasn't . My point is he isn't worth 15 grand per week in the Championship at a club whose budget might be limited because you just don't get a lot back from him on a regular basis.
  21. I often heard him referred to as Jesus H Christ Lowe !!! To be fair, nickname FFS I think.
  22. No doubt Evans wages will go up again now, I really wish someone would take that guy. With the exception of Ward who's gone thankfully the rest justify their wedge in my eyes.
  23. We signed some league 1 players though so even doubling their wage would still have been modest maybe. Also a lot of our high earners had relegation clauses and we weren't fighting off advances from other clubs for money given the age of some of them where as i'd reckon Wigan will have had to persuade Grigg, Powell etc to stay with money.
  24. A lot of squads in that league contain youth players, loans etc so I reckon 3 to 4 grand is top end for average clubs. Not confident it's right but worth bearing in mind a lot of clubs in league 1 have absolutely no means to pay big wages they just get by on their own income/overdraft etc so food for thought maybe.
  25. Didn't Mowbray say the playing staff budget was down to about 8.5 last season ? Quite a big playing staff still for league one as well.
