  1. I'd say so yes for some coming to Rovers at a certain point in their careers could be as good as it gets and they know it. Did Danny Murphy or even Peter Whittingham see Rovers as a stepping stone ?
  2. Fair point although the wage budget will be different now so that's why it's thought by some they'll be looking at good players from league 1 who are hungry and see it as a step up coming to Rovers and whose wage increase will be modest. The previous approach got in some good players for little money in fees and provided great returns but big contracts and you did get the impression some saw coming here just as a stepping stone and were going through the motions. Also factor in the manager was a youth coach and set about accommodating and giving games to these players to increase their value with a system of play that allowed that. Next season it's about the fight to finish as high up as possible nothing else so we need those types for who just doing enough isn't enough imo.
  3. He's been browsing on here again. Morning Tony lad ?
  4. Now we like the sound of that, put an end to the days of mercenaries who see Blackburn Rovers as a big club because it has a big name and pays big wages.
  5. Dingles normally supporting Venkys for pulling Rovers to bits and sending us down the leagues so you'd think that support would be wavering a bit at the moment. Now we have one who keeps popping up almost praising them for paying the bills although like one or two of their underwear sniffers on here never mentions the 30 million in sales and chronic lack of reinvestment for a period which saw us tumble to the lowest point in 40 years and have to put up with the likes of Coyle & co. Suspiciousclaret more like ?
  6. Now he does fit the tag of impact player and he'd be handy half fit coming off the bench etc but sadly his wage would probably be too much to carry unless Boro were feeling very generous.
  7. I'm convinced the financial situation above all else forced the issue and that those who blow in the ears or have some other involvement began to blow harder when the prospect of selling a load of big money players became a reality. Bowyer was the glue holding it together on the ground this end and I think those ear blowers wanted their own man in again so they could guarantee maximum slices of the action having had to make do with just foisting their freebies onto the club for a period. Wouldn't be surprised if they got 'advised' on that one in a similar way to the Allardyce / Kean scenario. The mess of Lambert, the arrival of Coyle and all the paths that link up on those back up the theory somewhat of a stink that never really went away it just got contained for a while.
  8. We have NO good right backs just a few who can play there but rarely with enough consistent form to do so for a season if fit. Can't see it changing it's been the make do and mend position at Rovers since Kean back stabbed his way in. From Salgado, Chimbonda, Jacobsen to ending up with kids Henley, Kane and an ageing centre half and midfielder filling in there in no time at all.
  9. Just what we need someone like him but I can see them going with the present centre backs and I think the idea will be nurture Lenihen till big money comes in for him.
  10. A summer of praying he doesn't return
  11. Rhodes isn't an impact player if he was he'd have been impacting at his last two clubs he's been sub enough times. Great lad, great finisher a few years ago but that's gone awol sadly. Couldn't really see him fitting in TMs style although him as a starter and Graham as the sub might work IF and it's a big if Rhodes still has it. Personally i'd avoid the wages can be used better but you never know.
  12. I think it might depend on which bright lights Olivia prefers
  13. Biggest gulf will be the wages when your paying 5 or 6 grand per week for good league 1 players then 10k plus for bog standard championship players or injury prone mercenaries. Akpan. Guthrie, Delfonso, Brown and the rest, how much were they on ? This seasons recruitment is going to have to be very smart indeed although Bolton got wage capped at what 4.5 per week or something & managed it ? Only just survived though.
  14. I think it was Steele for Samuel really but hell we'll still give him that one.
  15. Going off the previous managers we've had under this lot i'd rate TM's signing as a bit above average on the whole. Biggest shadow cast on it really was Whittingham as he was something of a big signing and must've cost a decent contract but he really wasn't needed in the grand scheme of things. Other than that when you're not throwing money about and signing lower level players it's always going to be chuck and chance. Thank god they stumped up for and he chose Dack though !
  16. I could not think of a better pair, she now has 3 big tits.
  17. It's the 4-1 wins he predicts we should stroll to every few weeks, he's a bookmakers dream but if he's predicting them next season I think we need to get him some proper help
  18. In theory yes but when you've got 200 Brentford fans in the bottom of a near 8000 seat stand on a Tuesday night it's a bit eerie. Looking out on it it's better when there are 300 home fans in there as well at least it looks and sometimes sounds like there is a bit of life in there and i'm sure it's better for the team which is an important factor. Course if the BBE is three quarters full it can cover for that when the teams attacking that way they usually get up for it but will it be or will it be half full like last season ?
  19. It might be an idea if they came up with pricing to fleece these alleged big followings like they fleece visiting fans instead of moving home fans etc and banking on numbers coming at our often lower than them ticket prices. But of course that would be inconveniencing away fans on their big day out at Ewood, can't have that, pack em in says Mike.
  20. Moving to noon kick offs without the need of a TV commitment is inconveniencing fans more than anything but hey ho Leeds bringing 3k instead of 6 and loads of season ticket holders who've already paid not turning up is right up the street of the OB. WBA, Stoke, Bolton, Wigan all sub 3.5k unless going well or an attractive date on the calender. Same applies to the Sheff clubs and this is before TV or midweek is factored in which it will be for a lot of those.
  21. Grabbi would've been a decent punt on a free or low fee for a club set to try and stay in the championship
  22. Not much has touched the sides though and the share capital on the VLL books is what has under pinned the continued losses they've racked up plus maybe possibly the original purchase money and debt then. God knows where the rest has come and gone from, maybe just moved through the club into other things ? Oversees ventures, partners pockets, other investments ? There is still something at the heart of all this and remember the club was bought as a business tool not really a hobby.
  23. Was it not the we've all shaved our hair off for religious reasons because Rovers have been relegated car crash interview where they were confused ?
  24. I wonder if there was ever any connection between the Global Adviser and the eleven, always thought it was an odd name for Madame to suddenly just conjure out of thin air
  25. And all i'm saying is what has it been spent on, where has it all gone and where and what sources does it actually come from ? All perfectly understandable questions for something that's a public (& audited) fact. And they do wash kits at Ewood don't they ?
