Gueye is a decent enough replacement in the squad for Gallagher, cheaper, better hold up play and not as injury prone, looks more comfortable in the centre fwd role than Sam ever did but at the moment brings even less goal threat. A work in progress though so give him time i'm sure he'll start scoring once he's hit a couple in off his arse or elbow and he is certainly an upgrade on Telalovic.
-
I'll start the car for him.
-
Given recent performances there might be a loss on the horizon here i feel unless we up our attacking and finishing levels a notch. They'll probably go out just to stop WBA and try and win ugly again but at home get on the front foot we should be able to compete with most. Rovers 1 Baggies 1

He got released because they had no academy and seniors already contracted in his position.

Is it 'start the car' this week or give him a new contract ?

Swansea fans saying it's a typical performance again by them, turn up and look for 70% possession, nulify home team and just hope someone produces something out of the blue. Have to say they've been like that on the road for years now and it's the ultimate going nowhere football, we know we had a season of it after being modelled on them and finishing 15th. Either way it's never easy to play against. -

Play crap, win ugly works for numerous succesful teams and managers weeing with the willy they have. Have to say though i do think Eustace is caught in a bit of an identity crisis in terms of playing style and tactics, looks like he wants a sit back and pass it around team with players that really struggle in that system. Not like we haven't seen it before though but maybe he just hasn't got the balance quite right yet. -

In our current situation yes he is and that seems hard for people to swallow but if he wasn't we wouldn't be in a good position and he'd have been dropped anyway. If we had a budget to spend a few quid on an established keeper then that's a different argument. Now maybe you can answer my question. -

Yeah but that isn't the argument here we know he isn't Kaminski or Raya but he hasn't thrown any games this season which to me is a bonus, a sign he might be ironing out his mistakes. -

Rovers are a bang average championship team who've had a good start to the season in which Pears has played his part. He is an average championship keeper who to date has done nothing to warrant dropping for another unknown at this level. He did nothing to cost us the game at Plymouth in fact he kept us in it. Do you think if he'd been replaced at the start of the season we'd be in any different a position than we are now ? -

But the saves he make - as you'd expect of any keeper - are exempt on here, criticism and blame must always come first. If he was a shite and mistake ridden as a few like to make out he doesn't make those saves and we are already 2 goals behind. FFS -

Pears made two smart saves to keep us in the game at Plymouth, but lets not mention that it doesn't fit the narrative. The number of times Plymouth put the ball in the same areas and we didn't clear it but it evaded everyone or their player didn't get on the end of it that late winner was always coming unless we beat the clock. -
A nice signing on fee and standard championship wages would probably be tempting enough. Re-signing here on 6 or 7 grand a week probably won't be although we've no idea what he's on now or what hes been offered but i'd stake my hat on him being low balled initially.
-
Dolans reluctance to sign for over 12 months now clearly shows he knows there is interest from elsewhere as does the rumour he's holding out for big bucks. This is another complete fuck up where he probably could have been signed up 2 years ago for a reasonable championship wage. The lad was signed on peanuts so had every right to expect a big pay rise as an important first team player / squad man with growth and future sale potential. No he shouldn't be getting 15/20 grand a week and if that's what he is after hes been playing a dangerous game but one he surely wouldn't play if the scrapheap was in sight. He'll sign for a decent club on a decent contract if not here, this place is off its nut at times nothing ever gets learned, football is a crazy world where people throw away other peoples money without a care. Any number of gaffers or DoFs will think he's worth a punt on a free and can be moulded into something. A good squad man for any Champ club and even ambitious lge 1 clubs are paying big money now.

John Eustace - our head coach
tomphil replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Yep and as if by magic and pure coincidence when we had those players instead of building around them the funding had run out meaning sell as soon as offers came in.... Therefore we can wax on all we want about a steady managers lack of boldness but you can't ever ever build a promotion team by having a best player selling policy and no real re investment. He's operating under a sell to survive policy and replace with sticking plasters. -
He is.

John Eustace - our head coach
tomphil replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
The usual weak links, inconsistent players and lack of depth of quality in this squad will always haunt us no matter who runs the team. I do think Eustace has gone into his shell a bit in terms of the away games but Burnley and PNE were well earned points. We are though affording opposition outside of derby games way too much time and space again. It's clear his ethos is try and win at home and try not to lose first and foremost away. Needs to be a bit bolder in winnable games. -
That's where i'm at with it i don't expect much from him on a regular basis and we see the same every season. If he'd cost money or was on big money i'd understand him getting dug out all the time but he didn't. He is what he is it's all about how he is managed for me but for nothing and low wages hes been a cracking little player at times.
-
He's a flair player which means he's inconsistent and always will be that's why he's largely used as a squad man. It's because he's demonstrated he can be good that some fans always expect more of him but he's a young championship player who probably reached his glass ceiling a year or so ago. Works quite hard and sees a lot of the ball so comes under scrutiny all the time yet there are others more deserving of that scrutiny and criticism imo. Although i agree when he's out of form he should be out of the starting line up now we have other options.
-
All the knives out again i see 😠 How many times do we have to have this and then he'll hit form again at some point and ram it back down throats. He is what he is it's just classic Tyrese we see it every season, yes he's frustrating but he can also be very good and he always plays himself into then out of a starting berth. Not good that at times Eustace is still trying to do what Mowbray often bizarrely did by playing all 4 foot 6 of him up top and aiming long balls in his direction. Actually thought he was getting into the game yesterday and shouldn't have been hooked at that point but he was poor in general. Yes he needs to be on the bench when out of form, no i wouldn't pay him 20k a week but he's been a very good squad player for us and will continue to be. I'd be bouncing Siggarson and his alleged 18k a week out the door first he is a waste of a wage.

Sam Szmodics-Your thoughts?
tomphil replied to BRFC4EVA's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Had to bide his time here also but never really thought he'd fit their style, unless they've changed it. He'll fire them back into the top 6 in the Champ next season. -
Item number 9 on there is perhaps the most cronic of the lot and i refuse to believe people employed by the club are that stupid and so far detached as if they were top level politicians in government. The owners on the other though i'm not so sure although iv'e long thought Waggot likes the average of 3 or 4k per season match by match payers as that brings in more than selling another 3 or 4k ST's.

Agreed he is a big ponce imo So much better when he has an in form Mcfadz/Batth or Carter next to him doing the dirty work. We continually conceded soft goals because of half hearted soft defending. Put your foot/head through the ball man !
