Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
tomphil replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
He's been pissed off for a good while but wasn't walking away without a pay off which is fair enough. However now he'll get one as the club look for the best ways they can to waste the first Wharton instalment. -

Away from all the rest of it he does need to start winning some games and although not ideal imo he does now have a larger group to pick from. -
Venky Scientology where you chant 20 million a year into a mirror and good things will happen.....eventually. Trouble is it will be preceded by Rovers fans striking each other in the stands again before long. It's coming.

Give over.

Look at it in the cold light of day. On modest wages at Plymouth on contract signed in lge 1, some bizarre reason Rovers enquire about a known unfit player. Plymouth offer him a payrise to 7k a week to stay as their hardly fit but goal scoring utility striker. Some bizarre reason Rovers offer him more and a 4 year contract to come up here. Guy doesn't really want to but it's a no brainer and once the ink his dry who cares right (says his agent to him) So he comes in already unfit, gets a knock, gets even unfitter, gets a bit fitter but Head Coach doesn't rate him so decides he really can't be arsed. Meanwhile ex boss who loves him gets new job, gets on the blower to his agent and says bide your time and i'll get you in here if i can. End result he's had a pay rise, a long new contract, a settlement on some of that and another one somewhere else to replace it. So in 6 months a modest paid plodder has earned himself a nice wedge and his agent has scooped double commission. Non of which would have happened if Blackburn Rovers hadn't appeared on the scene. It stinks and any decent owner would fire whoever lets the club get done over like this but it seems they've earned a reprieve (weren't getting fired anyway) by covering it in getting a fee from Stoke. Anyone praising it as some sort of masterstroke by GB/Waggot is way off the mark i suggest.

We are definitely in the pro Venky (20 mill a year!!!) , GB (Done a wonderful job with no budget) versus The pro JDT (best coach we've had under this lot) Out in social media land today, great window apparently he's got everything he wanted so can't moan. This fanbase ... 🫣 -

The main worry for me is did we spew a big chunk of the Wharton fee on loan fees in desperation just to plug gaps and how much agents fees have we spent again ? If its been done on the cheap then as annoying as it is it might not be a bad thing but if that lot has cost c4 r 5 mill in associated expenses that is an outright disaster. Because that money is gone, dead in the water. -
Samba was another one i got dogs for from a few for saying he was flogged in a ropey deal AFTER the window had closed so Barclays could be squared off. Never itk it was just bleeding obvious at the time and sometimes 2+2 on the conspiracy table does actually make 4. A club in debt nearly going bust as its bank threatens a rit then selling a player to a dodgy Russian club owned by a dodgy guy and likely receiving all or most of the 12 mill at once ? All brokered by a 'super agent', nothing to see there eh, where the hell are the authorities on that one! As for the owners well problems moving currency since 2011 yet here we are in 2024 and the problems have come to a head. In between times we've nearly gone bust several times. Had to have fire sales that lead to relegation, not invested in players when promotion is almost a dead cert, sold the training ground and a whole host of other issues. What have they done about the currency problem in 13 years ? NOTHING, just gone around in circles lurching from one mess to another and if anyone out there thinks the next 13 years will be any different you have a hole in your heads i can drive a truck through.

There'll be no profit in Ennis he wasn't here for free and will have been paid up to go so great business it isn't don't be fooled. However as damage limitation goes then fair enough at least hes gone. -
I reckon they just leave all this stuff up to their finance men and tell them sort it, find a way however or else you'll be locked in a basement and cattle prodded. Finance men have no idea about anything other than crunching numbers so don't understand for one min about football and how you really need to invest in it. Then imagine them dealing with people this side at the club who have no idea about finance - and in some cases football - and these are the results of all that we have to accept. Clownshows on both sides.

It's obviously not an issue to them otherwise they would have cut and run years ago. In fact i'd say it's the opposite they bought the club factoring in they'd comfortably lose c10 mill a year whilst writing it off as advertising fees or something. -

The 200 million isn't actually a real debt to anybody, well the majority of it anyway, it's just what these owners have spent and isn't down on the clubs books as borrowings as far as i'm aware. -
There were rumours the other week swirling about an untimely demise but obviously it mustn't have been true however it wouldn't be a surprise if it was either.

I remember saying he'd end up in the gutter and i presume that's where he is by now.

Broughton is just proving himself yet another Venky shill after listening to his spiel every time we make one of these random signings. He'd talk a turd up into being the best CF since Shearer for his wages, there is being optimistic and hopeful and there is taking the piss it's a fine line Gregg lad. -
I had Stokes vibes about it a long time ago and to be honest it's beginning to feel like history is about to repeat itself from that period in the not too distant.
-
Truth is we can't judge him as an actual player all we can do is ask questions of the whole thing. No doubt he'll go there and smash it then we'll be asking even more questions but i'll be shocked if his fitness is as bad as its been made out here. There is more at the root of this one.

I called this ages ago. Dodgy as owt this whole signing, who is his agent ?

I doubt Rovers would agree to that loyalty bonus knowing full well they'd be selling him in the not too distant future, maybe not now but in summer certainly. Then again...... -

Just think how many layers there are to go through now at Rovers... Player and his agent(s) Head Coach and his assistant DoF CEO Owners man Finance men both club and owners and maybe even bank manager Owners themselves, thousands of miles away in a different time zone, sometimes answering sometimes not and you never know which one will take the call. Club secretary.... Crazy stuff and instead of being more straightforward and smoothing out the process the addition of a DoF model seems to have complicated things even more. -
