  1. It might as well be to the brains trust at Ewood who prefer charge more to less and less then they can use less staff, close sections etc Before going to their overlords saying hey look (because of a cup run and a few big away followings in lge) iv'e hit the target AND iv'e reduced matchday costs over the season. Can i have that bonus ?
  2. Again exhibit A - Bolton Wanderers I'm certain if things carry on as they are they'll surpass us in the next 2 years just like Ipswich, Coventry etc. Now we might not get the numbers they get at the min for various reasons but we are capable of more than we get now if the club had a re-birth. All these lot want to do is turn the Rovers into the size of Wigan Athletic.
  3. Well look at that 10 secs in and a ball across our own box leads to an opposition goal.
  4. Also if we'd done their pricing on the back of the last season or two we'd get more than they do over a season and coupled with bigger away allocations the like for like ticket revenue would be more for us.
  5. Who said slashing season ticket prices will lead to more revenues ? The whole idea of that is to get more people in the ground every game and create a better feel around the place that should help the team (although i wouldn't bet on it). Done properly we needn't 'lose' much revenue or any at all with a good increased uptake and of course other revenue streams aside from ticket income will increase with increased people in the ground.
  6. When you are scoring regularly at whatever level the confidence should be high so he should be in line for a start on Saturday.
  7. But refusing to change it on the pitch and that is the first and last thing most are bothered about so he's making himself an easier target than he should really be.
  8. Readings issues have been going on for a few years but no one has taken a blind bit of notice until the fans finally snapped. The same thing happened with Charlton and the only had a bit of press when their fans kicked off and it was often negative press. Now nobody mentions them either, sadly our problems are our problems and no one else gives a stuff and certainly not EFL or MSM. The only way as i think we learned before is to hit them in their own back yard. But how ?
  9. No first and foremost it would lead to the club having to sell anything it could and get rid of who it could just to meet its creditors. Then knowing that lot they'd suddenly stump some money up from somewhere and the charade would carry on with them and us in lge 1 with nothing but a youth team and mortgaged ground to our names. We are in an impossible situation because even if they decided to sell they wouldn't put anymore or very little money in again like the Walker Trust so we'd still see more cutbacks and a firesale and turbulent times whilst we waited for a saviour.
  10. It's really odd because after going to the lengths of getting him here on 4 years the Head Coach has found any and every excuse not to use him. Raising suspicion his contract maybe heavily weighted to appearance bonuses or something and if those figures are anywhere near correct someone should be sacked immediately. Cannot see him on 14k pwk here for one min probably more like you offered him 7 but out lot doubled what he was already on. The glimpses of him he seems an ok player and he seems to be desperate to play when you hear his interviews but this is a very oddly run club. It's clear everyone isn't singing from the same song sheet but most fans just want to see the lad have some games and see what he can do.
  11. Carter is just suffering a loss of form as they all do early in their careers and it doesn't help when the guy next to you who is supposed to be your leader is all over the place as well. In the case of Brittain hes been poor for a good while now but when he came playing at rb/rwb he looked good and an upgrade on Nyambe. Then he gets injured and since he came back has been played all over the place and he's another whose confidence is shot. JDT has had Mowbrayitis with this one just finding places for him instead of getting him back to what he does best.
  12. They are bidding on a guy who has been out injured ages and only has a few mins under his belt so if they do retain an interest there's no reason why they won't come back in summer imo. However if his extra 12 is triggered and we are committed to another year of big wages it would be just like our lot to start asking silly money.
  13. Far more cautious and defensive minded style though from him but yes he'd have altered things and got a few draws. As poor and unambitious as his tactics usually were we didn't often get pumped by 3 or 4 which is becoming standard now although he had work more to work with. And we did lose 7 nil at home.
  14. Scott Dann writing all over that lad, good player but only when he feels like it, hearts not in it and was sold by former club rather than wanted to leave.
  15. Gally is 6'4" and having him in our box defending set pieces will certainly help and we are desperate seeing as our current lot plus keeper seem terrified of putting a name on the ball.
  16. That's the rumour and something tempted him all the way up here and it certainly won't be less than 7k a week which is still 1.5 mill.
  17. Maybe that was the plan nothing would surprise me in football and the things that have gone on under this ownership a times it would be par for the course. It's bizarre how a guy getting a big move and 4 year contract going to a club who finished 7th would then turn up in poor condition and have attitude problems from the off. If that really is the case of course and i know injuries can happen anytime but the head coach has seemed unimpressed with him since he turned up. And i don't think it's because he's a bad player.
  18. There is no point whatsoever selling Gallagher now for a million quid people are forgetting the club have the years option. So if that is triggered and he finishes the season well and we stay up he can command a modest fee like that in summer. Now if they were guaranteeing 2 million overall deal including add ons etc that's a different matter but they are just being vultures trying pick this carcass. Cannot blame the lad for wanting to go one iota although there is a danger he'll down tools BBD style to try and stay fit.
  19. We are playing another poor side so we should be able to handle it or at least 2 thirds of it without risking players that aren't ready and who we'll need regularly once fit. I'd only start Pears and only if he's 100%. Team and manager from last Sat need to man the F up for this one and stop looking for excuses.
  20. Or that's the angle that will be spun. Anyway i don't know why there's much fuss about it you can understand the 'lets be nice to everybody and get behind the lads bit' but it is spoiled delivered in the typical wokey way. To be expected though and if we lose 3 nil on Saturday whoever wrote it might want to cover their ears.
  21. If he's on ten grand a week the Ennis signing is a 2 million quid commitment for those who keep saying it doesn't matte he was just a cheap punt on a free. Stupid ill thought out signing that reeks of agent opportunism again.
  22. Doubt there'll be any Travis money just the opportunity to save 10k a week for 5 months. Can only see more ins when others are out the door to make room.
  23. Davies had to write off about 150 million when he sold Bolton and it's simple really if you want to actually sell a struggling club you have to write off the 'on paper' amount it stands you at. Otherwise you'll never ever shift it because it's only worth whatever its physical assets are worth and whatever turnover it might have. So there is no point in even considering anything other than Venkys having to write off c200 million in order to shift Rovers if they wanted or were forced to sell it. They can easily afford it anyway otherwise they'd have dropped the club years ago i don't buy for one min they spend 10/20 mill per year to 'save face'. That's just away with the fairies stuff i'm afraid, they keep this club because they want to and for some reason it suits them, or some of them.
  24. Unless there is a sea change in tactics and a big upturn in defender and keeper form we'll concede at least 2. So the hope is we find the net at the other end against a side that will surely present chances. Rovers 2 Terriers 2 13.220
