  1. It'll be a cheap one plucked from the lower leagues at best, probably Karl Robinson unless he's on big wonga at Salford.
  2. There have a lot of things refreshing about JDT he's brave, bold, positive without being deluded and not the least bit patronising. He even apologies when it's shite although in a way that swerves his own accountability but it's at least halfway there, Yes there are frustrations to the way he works and still a lot of imo naivety though some would say stubbornness. We can actually see what he is trying to do even if we sometimes feel it isn't always the right way to go about it in certain games. We've not been able to say that for a long time he isn't a preserve my job pick my mates and mates players kind of guy, he clearly doesn't want his feet under the table here being patted on the head. He wants to actually do something but he couldn't have picked a worse set of ambitionless gravy train riding bosses to do it for.
  3. Good touch and vision when he's on form but he's no Wharton.
  4. I've always got the impression JDT likes Gallagher it's a pity he hasn't been able to work with him full time of the last year or so,
  5. So rumoured to be in line for the Sweden job and that would be a great move for him. Hopefully it's just smack talk designed to put the wind up Rovers and get them to act but Waggot will have his abacus out totting up compen and ho much he'll save by wheeling in someone else off the dole.
  6. Now you just know he'll go to Ipswich and be played as a target man and turn into the Bolton version of Kevin Davies !
  7. He'll probably start him again he seems to let players run themselves into the ground for some reason.
  8. Agree and it's the same with most young players they lose fitness/form and need withdrawing for a bit to regroup and go again and play their way back in. It's all part and parcel now of running such a young inexperienced group and it doesn't matter how talented the lad the demands of the game catch up with them. We should be getting used to it by now it happens with virtually every one loaned or our own although stronger lads and ones with more time under the belt cope with it better. Some just wilt and need a rest to build up strength again and this where good management comes in. That's made harder when bodies are thin on the ground though and mins have been promised to parent clubs.
  9. If true that's Ipswich doing what Rovers should have been doing 2 years ago whilst in a good position. And Gally fits their style perfectly there's non of the negative over cautious Mowbray style or the tip tap powder puff JDT stuff. This club and its ownership and the people who run it for them stink. But getting over 1.5 mill for him and off the wages will have champagne corks popping in EWood head office. Whilst fans drool at the thought of a better replacement only to realise he's already here and he's called Telalovic !
  10. 5,700 Don't give them any more hot air than they already have.
  11. There is no doubt it will come back to bite us, no doubt at all but same as the Buckley issue if they want to run such a shallow squad full of inexperienced kids there'll always be a big risk.
  12. So many times on here you'll find repeat comment under both bosses as to why we don't just go out and have a go. The comfort zone at Ewood was huge and now this guy gets the brunt of their years of waste and probably more pressure than that pair put together had.
  13. It's early days so who knows but if he grows into it there's no reason he can't have a good career but there is a long way to go. He needs to finish the season strongly here first.
  14. Just like Moran now he was lacking the physicality and strength that he should no doubt grow into and he maybe wasn't up to the high intensity style JDT wanted. Clearly a good player in there but was still a way off it but is now well thought of at Hull and no doubt his time here helped that. That's why these lads are sent here and there are clearly verbal promises if not contractual ones made in regards to mins on the pitch. Perhaps from our point of view we should try and source the types that actually fit what we need not just any decent quality player we can grab then try and fit them in.
  15. He was a Burnley lover as well all those 70's throwbacks seemed to be but yes the ex City fella was ? He was the only one on there who had a decent word to say about Rovers. Fat Sharpe was another twohat.
  16. He's also one who really had it in for Rovers when he was on that Century FM or whatever it was every evening, a complete twohat and a piss pot to boot. I hope we stuff them for that reason alone.
  17. WBA 2 Rovers 2 It's time for a draw, well concede early and late but be 2-1 up in between.
  18. I saw Pears for the U23s a couple of seasons ago before he got in the first team and he was much the same then so his first team keeping was no surprise to me. Made some smart stops and was calm on the ball but let in two a decent keeper would've stopped because his positioning was awful. Basic stuff, the kind these modern young keepers often seem poor at.
  19. If think they've always had a solid support even before their windfall considering what they've been through but of course they wouldn't get anything near what they are getting now without all the Hollywood stuff. Always the same though every set of jonny come lately plonkers turn straight to the crowd issue whenever Rovers are mentioned. All really because of the white elephant that is Ewood these days if it was the same size as Preston. Burnley it would would hardly get mentioned because it would be nearly full in the home sections everyweek. They need to imagine themselves in a 32k stadium in 20 years time when all the good times are over and they are back in the natural level for them of the 3rd tier. They won't be filling it over a 3rd.
  20. It's from one extreme to the other though and to be honest when he was shutting up shop on 65 mins at home to bottom club Huddersfield at 1-0 to us then inviting 30 mins of solid pressure it was a bit odd. Thing is though we ground some results out and some times you just have to do that but its gone right out of the window this season.
  21. He feels it's because the squad is young and inexperienced so what do we expect.
  22. Well of course you can play well if you put the effort in and try to do as your asked not go hiding. Whether we like it or not they play guys like that out of position as part of their learning process but i agree he is far better suited to being a no 10. He's a loan player though and this isn't Mowbray so the side will be built around our players even though it's disjointed at times because mins and value into ours is their no1 priority now.
  23. Correct they have to grow into the style and learn it so it appears they are great footballers for better teams to pick off. If you can't cope you'll be sidelined then moved on and mistakes are expected and allowed even if it loses game after game. Despite the fact that won't exactly add value nor get them noticed for the right things.
  24. wxm801 In a nutshell. The situation with our owners is they fund the club from Indian corporation profits to the tune of 10-20 million to cover losses per season whilst basically ignoring it. The people in charge here are decimating it bit by bit in what can only be described as managed decline to a low cost model. They also transferred the ownership of the training ground recently then borrowed against it. Also back in India they are now under investigation for potential fraud and have had some assets seized meaning they are finding it difficult to send money to fund Rovers now. This is just the latest in a long line of odd things that happen under this ownership whilst the club shows no ambition to try and live up to our illustrious history and his happy to tread water whilst the bizarre ownership loses money and the director(s) fill their pension funds. Now you might have an idea why our crowds are what they are.
