  1. That's why there is never a plan B and never will be it's that way shit or bust and players have to cope and fans have to lump it.
  2. Yes you tell them to get their head down and get on with it like many ,managers do at many clubs. Things can change in an instant in football and suddenly you are back in the team. Travis can also fill a number of roles and is one of the senior most experienced players at the club. Basically he probably knew he was being squeezed out with a player signed for his position. He saw the writing on the wall and asked to leave there's nothing wrong with that he just wants to play. As far as we know he loves Rovers and doesn't want to leave but has little choice, they've decided they don't want to pay him just as a squad player. All it does is weaken the squad and he is replaced by cheaper younger less experience not somebody more suitable.
  3. It probably paid for the pitch as it was odd how after years of promising then nothing it suddenly got done, amidst budget cuts as well. If we have a good run this year they can put the unexpected windfall towards cutting season ticket prices 🙏
  4. He can still come good by all means and he's shown a few promising signs recently, there'll be no BBD story here though and if it takes 2 or 3 years to get a tune out of him that's a waste of time. We are desperate for a bit of presence in the middle up top and hopefully he might grow into that role and we don't need miracles just a bit of a lump up there. Probably he's here to replace Gallaghers role in the squad providing a bit of height and if he can put himself about as much then he'll serve that purpose.
  5. He's 24 already, Brererton was about 19 when we signed with 50 odd appearances for Forest most at champ level so he'll have to get a shift on.
  6. Interesting little vid and nice to see confirmation of what we already knew, i bet it goes down well on dingle town forum.
  7. Well bullying you won't have to worry about and we struggle with any form of physical style but if you take us on a football it would suit us more. Physically probably the weakest squad in the Championship and we are likely to have one of the youngest sides ever out in this one. The is no such thing as a long ball in this team or a centre forward and set piece goals are an alien breed at 2023/4 Blackburn Rovers. It'll be an interesting clash of styles i'd wager.
  8. Watch Ipswich that style has got a league 1 team into second place and it's good to watch. It would also be hard to argue against that it hasn't increased the value of a few of their players.
  9. A lot are just going over the top with it of course most Rovers fans want a big club tie home or away and our large element of once a season fans always pray for Liverpool or Utd at home. Next best thing though is a home game against a lower division side and another good chance of progress (on paper) and who really cares how many turn up. Longer you're in the comp money can be made and the chance of a big tie the odds get shorter. The 'glamour' bit is nonsense in regards to this game unless half of Hollywood is turning up in Blackburn. It does though have a lot of intrigue as Wrexham are a good side with massive incentive in this and Rovers are so easy to score against this season it's crazy. We also have the potential to put 4 or 5 past you though also and we never play it safe so i predict a crazy game and plenty goals. It could be a cracker.
  10. Sorted by Dec didn't the Egg say ? Probably be done in the next 48hrs......
  11. Agree o the first bit but second bit is tripe if we are talking about Mowbrays time it was about standard there was zero over achieving. He was allowed to spend 15 million on forwards over about 12 moths before they shut the vault again but he had enough in his budget annually to bring in guys like Holtby, Downing, Trybull, Tosin, Elliot, etc etc.
  12. The lack of using him when he's been on the bench alongside JDT's early season comments says to me he just doesn't fancy using him and never really has. Very odd to sign a player on a 4 year contract then mark his card straight away.
  13. So they've committed 2 million quid to the deal of this lad ? That's way to insane to be true unless there is something very wrong about it all.
  14. One look at his actual mins on the pitch over appearance stats told the story and if they were so desperate to keep him they didn't put up much of a fight. Perhaps they actually knew he'd not cut it in the Championship but were happy to keep him on the same modest terms he was on. Then in step BRFC bizarrely offering 4 year deals to an unfit player with no pedigree in the Championship ? And league 1 clubs who might have wanted him don't really come into the equation do they when a Champ club is dangling a 4 year contract. No need for much wage gazumping there. I just buy the 'gamble' bit when they offered that kind of contract it just doesn't make any sense, if you're gambling you offer a loan or short deal with a caveat for a better one if it works. If you think you are on a winner or are desperate to secure a player you offer the security of a long contract.
  15. So what lured him all the way up here ?
  16. All i can see is loads of them working themselves into a lather about there being more of them than us. So annoying when we end up with these types of draws all they bang on about is crowds and how 'massive' Rovers don't get big ones. The fact they'll probably bring their entire fanbase for a day out whilst we will have less than a regular league match kind of explains who sees it as a massive game and who doesn't.
  17. Simply because it's better to assume it's all BS from him but there are still things we hope are true and ones we hope aren't.
  18. Anyone else get Ben Gladwin or Anthony Stokes vibes with this Ennis thing ? Agent gets him in on security of long contract when no one else would touch him, get him fit but doesn't get used for some reason. So he's loaned out then some club pays a few hundred grand for him whilst Rovers settle his contract to shift him on ? That's another thing that seems to happen here every few years.
  19. That's another thing that has happened regularly under this lot, Rhodes for example 9 mill rising to 11 but only his wage allowed for reinvestment. It is without doubt managed decline constantly dumbing things down bit by bit whilst trying to still tread water in this league. It will go pop again before long unless there is investment it's nailed on.
  20. You'd think it was Barca turning up. It's an interesting tie for sure and a potentially tricky one but what's glamorous about it unless he's coming ? Hell at this rate you watch how quickly Venkys turn up if he is !
  21. There is no attraction to this other than a great chance to get through to the next round. It's still just Wrexham a lower league outfit albeit an ambitious one but glamour game ? do me a favour they aren't chock with glamour players and if you're only turning up to maybe catch a glimpse of an actor who probably won't be there you are a tool of the highest order. How many people in Blackburn give a toss about Ryan Reynolds ? Priced right we should get the usual home turnout plus a big away following, priced wrong and on tv at daft o'clock it'll be a poor turnout.
  22. The Ennis signing is more bizarre by the day it never looked sounded nor felt right but i don't want to see him go to Bolton. JDT has never wanted him from the off that much is crystal and whoever gave him a 4 year contract should be working his notice. We are having another possible crisis season and we are having to carry and pay for duds like him. This ###### club.
  23. I think it was Lambert who brought Graham here with a view to a perm signing and Senior brought in Joao who was his agent wifes client. Gally on loan and Emnes were good punts though at the time and the owners had sold the defence anyway and left us with the likes of Greer and Brown. Riddiculous when you think back.
  24. Coyle was lining a pile of shite up though starting with that lad he had at Houston he was trying to get him here from the get go. Had they allowed him to spend we'd have been stuck with more crap and probably stuck with him into league 1.
  25. Can't happen at Rovers though nobody would want the 10th most succesfull club in England with it's nice ground and cat 1 Academy and capable of 20k plus averages in the Prem. Oh and we can't sack Tony Mowbray either he's the only man who can possibly manage us.
