QPR are pretty adept at leaning in. Refs letting it go but shouldn't as they are clearly fouls.

Summer transfer window 2021.
TimmyJimmy replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
'One swallow doth not a summer make'. Don't get me wrong I'm not a Rothwell hater. I really enjoy watching him, he's an entertainer. If he goes I'll miss his talent but I don't think it will effect our points total. So much is right about his game but there's still a lot missing and he's too old for me to be saying that and for it to be OK. I know he's got a family to feed and as a professional he has to look after his career but in my rose coloured world I want players who want to play for us, he clearly doesn't, maybe that's colouring my view of him. I'll be happy if he signs a new contract, but he won't will he. -

0n Rothwell ... Imagine if a big breasted bare chested lady ran on to the pitch every 15 minutes. I personally would find that very entertaining and I'd look forward to every 15 minute intervention. This however would have zero effect on the game or the final score but it would be a very interesting contribution to the discussions in the pub afterwards. Such is Rothwell's impact. Massively entertaining but without any effect on the game or the final score. Much to be admired about the lad and I'll miss him when he's gone but it will have absolutely no impact on our points or our position at the end of the season. If I've annoyed anyone with my analogy I apologise unreservedly. -

No "Arte", no "Labore". What's the latin for "sitting on your arse and sucking your thumb"? Whatever it is it's a good candidate for a new club motto. Thanks TM! -

No defending this performance. Rank bad awful. Nothing else to say really. Feels like they'll get another two in the second half. Just awful. Is this what it's come to being a Rovers supporter. -
I'd like to agree rigger, problem is they get flattened easily when young hence the need to send them out on loan to play "men's football" until they mature a bit. Occasionally you find the odd one who can cope at a young age but a team full Dolans and Elliots is an improbable dream and even then they'd likely get the sh*t kicked out of them to stop them playing. There again we might get lucky and produce 11 Phil Jones' I suppose - which would do nicely 😀

Every bad player in the Championship came through somebodies academy Chaddy. Unless you get once in a lifetime lucky like a Scholes, Giggs, Beckham situation then the only route to success is to BUY players who have PROVEN they can do it. To escape from our current situation we need a new management team, new ideas and a proper recruitment strategy. Although proved wrong once "you'll win nothing with kids" is still a truism.

Transfer window closes. Nyambe returns from a hamstring injury. Coincidence. I don't think so.

More likely TM saying to Chapman, "you've under performed consistently. You've got a bad attitude. You won't take instruction. You've got talent but you just don't have your head on right." "OK boss, give me another chance, I did well out on loan, I've learned and I'll get it together this season". "OK, one last chance, don't eff it up. I'll give you 12 months. Go out there and impress me". He didn't impress. TM wants to mitigate the useless wage loss. Chapman goes on loan to a club at his level. As good a theory as any ... -

There's no positive spin to put on this cock up of a transfer window but I wonder what I would have done differently. My guess is that Venky's turned the tap off last season and mandated that costs were reduced by a large number, likely something to do with their business cash flows being hit by Covid. We have to respond and choose to sell our mostly crappy players to get the wages down and a bit of cash in. Arma was always going and we should have expected to have some of that money to spend. Venky's say 'NO' and we aren't able to offer increases to existing players who we need to sign new contracts. Also we can't outbid or even compete with the transfer fees and players wage demands of the required new players. "A hard budget is a hard budget, go deal with it", I've been told that many times in my life. Not sure what else there is to be done if we don't have the cash. Still a horror show whichever way you look at it, not sure it's all TMs fault though. -

On the Mowbray arguments - I think truth often lays in the greyness of things, rarely is it black or white. Combine views on Venky's and TM. Good Good, Bad Bad, Good Bad, Bad Good. None of these stand up to scrutiny. They're all a little bit shit. Argue away as to where the balance lays. For me TM should go, the fit with us and the club is wrong, end of. Is he a decent human being, yes IMO. Is he bent, no IMO. Does he like everyone else get things right and wrong again yes IMO. I'm not comfortable with the 'everything is shite, start again' view. Things are difficult and things are tough because I cannot see any way that we will become great again and win things the way matters stand. Time for a change is long past. But I don't think it's purely down to having the world's worst manager and the world's worst owners. That's my two pennies worth. -
West Brom are kick and rush, flatten whatever gets in your way, shoot on sight. At least that's a plan, we're without any plan at all. Piss poor referee. All round bad day.

🙂 No but I can see the humour in the suggestion. His first touch isn't that bad, not perfect but certainly not Kevin Davies bad (bag of cement bad). If he's in midfield he's taking the ball shorter from defence not pulling down from a 40 yard pass back to front. Just a thought I had that's all. And no there's no comparison between Gally and Lampard I meant only the position he played and his role in the team. I could imagine Gally there if Rothwell buggers off and we have no cash for a replacement. He has an engine, he's competitive, he can find space, he can score. Certainly something i'd try out on the training pitch. Can't be more wasted there than he is out on the wing. -

Personally I'd like to see Gallagher try playing the Frank Lampard position in midfield. I know they're chalk and cheese but he has the engine and likes to graft, he's a striker by trade so should have goals in him from midfield. Frees up a position for the new guy. Bit of lateral thinking, could be worth a punt. What do you think? -

Oh to be back in Ewood. Just magic. The noise of the crowd. The smiles of those around me, everyone looking happy. Loved it. Nothing much to moan at on the pitch (aside from some crappy shooting). Always felt like a win to me from the kick off. Not often I'm totally relaxed at a game but this felt good. There's lots to work on, lots to polish up but that was a good day yesterday. Feel alive again after 18 months of shielding. Same again next match please boys. -

On the Arma situation. As in all other things in life a 'single point of failure' is a disaster just waiting to happen. If he's our only source of goals then if say he gets injured or loses form we are screwed. Makes sense to try to get two cheaper less prolific attackers even if individually they are less skilled than him. If we had loads of money then you'd ADD an extra striker along side Arma to give a bit more resilience. We have no money so in my opinion we should sell and rebuild the forward line. On Rothwell, he has loads of talent and application, he works hard, but he fails the 'so what' test. He earns the right to take the shot, he earns the right to deliver the killer assist yet he doesn't. He does all the right things, gains all the yards and then becomes Mr Clueless. I like both players, they have flair, but they're not right for us. Sell and regroup. Mind, we're talking a Mowbray rebuild which is no rebuild, just more of the same with one guy up front and the latest kid with potential who can't make the grade elsewhere. Only real solution is to change the entire management team but I guess we have to wee with the willy we've got so I'd sell both Arma and Rothwell tout suite. -

I'm not blaming anyone. No supporter of the club has done anything to deserve what we have at the moment. My point is that we still have a part to play. Walking away ie not buying tickets is not helping our club. If we buy our tickets and the club goes under, well we've done our bit and we know who's to blame. I've nothing but good to say about our supporters, good sorts all irrespective of opinions on this matter. Please stop setting up this exchange to make it sound like I'm blaming anyone. Buy a ticket, support the club, enjoy the matches and have a good moan on here if necessary, I'm not averse to having a good moan myself. -
