JRC was the one who dived in. Lenihan was just way too far up the pitch for some reason.

I don't know what happened to Lenihan. He has been one of my favourite players of the past few years, but he has a string of poor performances at the back now and absolutely must be dropped. Him and JRC both equally culpable for the 2nd and 3rd goals for me. You can see why Reading are hard to breakdown... the team is full of pace, so they get back in numbers very quickly. If we got a 2nd goal before half time I think we could have turned it around, but not so sure now.

Tbh, can't blame the manager for the injuries we have. We are badly missing Kaminski and Ayala who would come in for Lenihan and Pears. Evans wouldn't be playing if Johnson or Travis were fit. Nyambe should be on instead of JRC, but it would be very difficult to drop JRC after a good game against Coventry. It's just the Rovers curse for me... we can never make it easy for ourselves.

We absolutely have to score before halftime. Good spell at the moment, but we need a goal at the end of it.

Any positive will do at this stage.

This is shocking. 3 clumsy goals really. Reading are flying down their left flank and JRC can't cope with the pace. Needs to come off at half time for Nyambe.

This is a winning team's mentality. Equalise immediately after conceding a bizarre goal.

Good news that Ejaria is out. Makes this game easier for us. I reckon 2-1 to us.. surely Joao will grab 1 for them given his form.

Looks like it will be showing in Australia not sure about other regions. Boro game next week will be unavailable via iFollow though unfortunately.

How good is our midfield right now? It’s light years away from the days of Lowe, Williamson, Murphy, Etuhu etc.

I would bring him in for Trybull instead personally, at this stage at least. Johnson was back to his best against Coventry and has a fantastic start to the season making it hard to drop him. Trybull was good but unspectacular against Coventry.

He looked very good against Coventry but I think he struggles against faster attackers. It’s good having him compete with Nyambe for the RB spot because they offer very different options. Bell and Nyambe are pacey, physical options on the flanks while JRC and Douglas are slower but offer much better creative outlets and support. Gives us great options to mix it up depending on the opposition.

It’ll be interesting to see their approach. Their top of the table so surely want to keep picking up wins and won’t just sit back, but they’ll obviously be wary we are the top scoring team in the division right now. I think this game will play to our strengths and we have nothing to fear. I’m predicting a win. I’d stick with the same 11 providing there’s no players with fitness/injury issues. Ayala in for Lenihan would be the only change I’d like TM to make.

Kaminski has been an absolutely fantastic signing. Early days, but I think he'll become our best keeper since Friedel. We will miss him if he's out, but I think Pears should be a capable deputy. Awesome to have this squad depth and I think it will hold us in good stead to make the playoffs.

Brereton has a 9.99 rating on Whoscored for today's game. Incredible performance - just unfortunate not to get a goal himself!

Imagine if Brereton and Holtby could just find their scoring boots...

I spoke too soon! Gally just went on a nice driving run into their box. Must be at least 1 more goal in there somewhere..

Buckley and Bell have done pretty well since coming on. Gally not so much.

Hopefully we correct that in the next 45 minutes.

Having Douglas, Trybull, Elliott, Holtby and JRC in the squad makes such a big difference. Their passing range is far better than the players they've replaced in the team, so we're able to be more creative and exploit the gaps better.

For me, Lenihan needs to be dropped as soon as Ayala comes back. He has had several poor games in a row and doesn't deserve to be starting with Ayala available and Williams' form.
