Good chance for JRC there.. he's going to score a few this season I feel. Always getting himself into scoring positions. We look well up for it right now.
-
Someone seriously needs to run some throw-in training sessions with the team. We look clueless and lose it every time.
-
We've looked pretty decent. Can't really fault anyone's performance - Armstrong and Brereton not involved enough so far, but that's about it. Williams passing has been off on a few occasions, but otherwise he's looked solid. All the youngsters have done well!
-
Great chance there for Armstrong. We are looking okay after some nervous moments in the first few minutes.

The players we do hear about in the press are the ones that agents are trying to drum up interest for. I have no doubt that the only reason Kipre’s name had become public because his agent was using us to drive up the price with West Brom. You can already tell which links are real and which are just agents trying to get bang for their buck.

What happened with that Slovenian midfielder that was linked? Jaka Bijol? Any chance that it’s him?

Lenihan wasn’t absent though. In the lead up to the goal he was marking Meite, while Carter was marking Baldock. As the cross is about to come in the two strikers switch sides and both our centre backs have to change who they’re tracking. I don’t think there was anything wrong with their marking or positioning... it was a good cross and finish. The issue for me is that Nyambe was in no man’s land. Split between whether to close down Obita or mark McCleary. Travis and Holtby are nowhere to be seen, which leaves both Nyambe and Lenihan scrambling to track 2 targets. Travis was really poor that game and his absence left Lenihan and Carter to deal with 3 central attackers. He was also responsible for a goal about 4 minutes later as well. Besides all that, Walton should have saved it

Sounds like another club’s message board I know....
-
He played more games for us than he did at Fulham last season. So it’s rubbish that Mowbray didn’t think he was good enough for our first team. He’s gone to Fulham for £8mil, so there’s no way we could have afforded such a fee.

FAQs on the website suggest overseas fans can't watch Carabao Cup games via iFollow. Is there no other alternative?

Dolan on the bench! -
Would love Cunningham back if he can still perform to the level pre-injury. Kaminski, Kipre and Cunningham would make this an excellent window. Ticking all the boxes.

Came off for Brennan, so maybe he isn't fully fit or nursing an injury? -

Travis and Brereton looked pretty knackered today. Disappointing penalty from Brereton - a few bright moments but he looked more like pre-lockdown Ben than post-lockdown Ben. Barely noticed Holtby and Buckley - not really convinced by either from that performance. Really want to see a lot more from both of them in creating chances or scoring goals. Bell and Nyambe were okay - but for a side that should be battling for promotion I'm not convinced they are good enough. If we were able to bring a class LB and RB, with Bell and Nyambe adding depth, we would have a much stronger squad. Of course, it's just a friendly against Fleetwood, so can't judge a whole lot from it. -

Davenport just cleared off the line. Really like the look of him so far. He looked good in the few cameos at the end of last season as well. I think between him, Travis, Evans and Johnson we're well covered in the middle. Fisher has made several errors and definitely doesn't look like he's ready to even be backup for us so far. Wharton has looked okay but I think he is not dominant in the air enough. He should be given a chance this season, but I think he should only be there as a backup for Lenihan. Given Lenihan's history with injuries, he'll probably get enough games over the season! -

Excellent goal from Chapman there. Our best player on the pitch even before the goal. -
Or maybe it has something to do with Mowbray returning to work this week...
-
I think this is the most excited I've seen this messageboard in a very long time! Great timing for the signing and hopefully it's the first of several. I would genuinely be excited for this season if we brought in Kaminski and a quality LB and CB as well.
-
What stood out to me is the formation in the top right being in the shape of an arrow pointing to where our weak point is!
-
The signings we make will determine what my expectations are for the coming season. I think the weak points in our squad last season were at LB and GK. We got much better results with Cunningham at LB and when Bell actually had a good run of corn as well. We also need someone much better than Walton. Just having those 2 positions sorted would help us push for a play off spot. Obviously we now don’t have Tosin either, so it would be good to get someone of his quality in, otherwise we are much weaker. I don’t think we’ll be dragged into a relegation battle without filling those 3 positions, but the more of those 3 positions we fill the higher our likelihood of promotion. I’m not really worried about our midfield and striker options. The likes of JRC, Holtby, Brereton, Gallagher, Davenport, Rothwell, Chapman, Buckley and Vale need to step up this season and prove they are good enough not just for the Championship but the PL as well. It’s make or break season for me. If Mowbray can’t get enough out of the above players then someone else needs to be brought in to do it. I wasn’t expecting us to get promoted immediately after promotion from League One, but 2 seasons is enough time to stabilise us and push on.

I don’t know about this Aynsley Pears. I would prefer Packham Pears myself.
