Youth squads are pretty random remember, I'd say generally you get one (two if you're lucky!) pull that will make you a lot of cash and about three or four others which will sell for a decent amount. -

Why does everyone want Koumas? He's hardly set the world alight at West Brom and I can't see where he'd play for us. A decent striker or two, another central midfielder and a left back is what I'd like to see in the summer. -

Hmm I'd say selling at titanic is fine, it's when you go to around magical+ that prices start to drop. Btw if you want to sell someone, do it when they raise a level. You'll get a similar price to if you train for a couple of extra weeks and more training on his replacement. -

Thumped the league leaders 4-0 with a 294 Hatstats rating and 62*, my best ever performance. Still 5th but things are very close and I'm bouncing. -
Great effort Den, I've really enjoyed it. The really interesting one is Keith Newton, who's been forced out of both full back positions in the reserve side as well. Please can we not have a worst team poll? It would kinda make a mockery of the whole thing.

I agree with tcj_jones, Emerton was dissapointing today. He just got the ball, stuck his head down and ran, there was very little end product. Why didn't Hughes have Stead, Matty or even Bothroyd on the bench instead of Johnson? It seems odd that he's ahead of all three and Stead or Bothroyd might have offered a more physical option which we might have needed.

There's a useful tool onHottrick to see how high your keeper is in rating, -
I went for Southworth in the end, that goal scoring record speaks for itself.

I lost 5-4 on sunday. I was 4-2 down, got it back to 4-4 and then he scored again. I'd be up for some sort of friendly cup depending on how far I go in the cup and other friendly cup commitments (I play in a friendly cup every season from cup round 10). -

I'd sell the players who are older next time they level up and buy two more midfield trainees plus some young wingers you can train in PM. Have a look atthis very useful site on training -
Hmm the goalscoring prowess of Briggs against the longevity and consistency of Garner. Will have to think about this one.
-
I'm leaning towards Briggs at the moment for his goal scoring record in such a short space of time, scoring seven in one game is pretty unique! However Garner's rapport with the fans and his long service bring him into consideration. Why did Briggs move and was he idolised by the fans at Blackburn? Did he just move onto a bigger club?

I voted no as it was too close to the window to use the money. But having just read the LET article I may have changed my mind, having an unhappy player is useless as he'd have played poorly and we'd have got even less in the summer. -

Uhoh. We should and must win this but it'll be close. A good cup run could turn a dissapointing season into a half decent one. -

I'm not sure how far I'll get in the cup. I could end up loosing to a VI side in the 4th round like last time or if I'm midtable in the league I could go for a long cup run and try and get to round 9 (round 8's the furthest I've ever got so far). As for a Rovers cup last time someone suggested having two stages. If everyone except myself and pg were out by around round 6 they could play a first round and then with pg and myself joining the tournament later. Edit: Just pulled an interesting youth: Kevin Davies (53070704) [Add this player to your bookmarks] 18 years, passable form, healthy I speak English! A popular guy who is fiery and honest. Has disastrous experience and inadequate leadership abilities. Speciality: Quick Nationality: England Total Skill Index (TSI): 20 Wage: 333 £/week Owner: Claygate A.F.C. Warnings: 0 Stamina: weak Goaltending: disastrous Playmaking: wretched Passing: weak Winger: wretched Defending: wretched Scoring: poor Set Pieces: poor No wonder he's rubbish! -

Utopians usually go for around £7.5M, maybe a little less. My guy's an ex-U20 which raises his price a little. Managed to spend the cash already, over £8.6M in two days spent. -

I went to the game yesterday and no player from either side stood out as playing a really good game. I'd say we were quite lucky to win 1-0, especially as Mokoena was very lucky not to get sent off after he tripped Kamara on the break after we'd won a free kick, piled everyone into the box except Tugay and then played the ball to him on the edge of the area. Tugay lost possesion and Kamara sprinted away, there was someone else racing back but I doubt he would have caught Kamara. Pedersen took his goal well (although it was difficult to see as I was right up the other end!) and looked good in patches, tracking back too. A decent performance and I suspect his style of playing is quite stop start like many wingers. The lad can finish though, what about playing him up front? On the corner front he looked like he'd taken lessons from Brett "hit the first defender" Emerton, despite a promising start. As for Lua Lua's sending off, I'd have to say in true Wenger style that I didn't see it. The Pompey fans all seemed annoyed so I thought the ref was going to send one of our lot off. D'Urso had a poor game overall, he was overly pedantic sometimes although it looks like he got the sendings off right. Certainly Blackburn got a lot more yellow cards in the first half than Pompey, sometimes for fairly innocuous challenges (although Mokoena was lucky not to be sent off so it's swings and roundabouts). Nelsen lined up at right back and for me was the man of the match, a solid performance and he looked good going forward, putting in some decent crosses along the floor. Probably the most confident defender. All the defence did ok, although there were a few nervy moments. Mokoena looks a good acquistion and did well. Friedel didn't have much to do but he made a fine save from Kamara. Further forward we were not so good. Tugay's passing was poor and Dickov and Gallagher ran around a lot but struggled to create many openings, Jansen didn't have much time to impress but looked promising when he came on. Emerton and Pedersen did ok, but both produced stop-start performances. Thompson did alright but you do get the feeling he's suffering from headless chicken syndrome sometimes. So a valuable three points but not that well deserved. Portsmouth didn't seem to feel the effects of playing a lot of the second half with 10 men and a draw would have probably have been a fair result. -

Good luck back in IV pg, hopefully you can bounce back and use the time to rebuild. Just got a bid of £7.5M on utopian keeper. Transfer market here I come! -

MOTS increases your midfield level but you'll get halves your team spirit after the match. As team spirit (commonly known as ts) affects your mid. level a lot you'll probably play worse in the few matches afterwards. PIC is the oppisite, it decreases your midfield rating but raises team spirit by two levels afterwards. Ts moves towards the mid-point (level 4) if left alone and is reset at the end of the season. Therefore there is no real downside to MOTSing next weekend. Btw Hattrix is a really useful site for things like this. It summarises the rules well and I found it really useful when I started. As for when to sell and buy it's six to one and half a dozen to the other (if you're selling to buy). I prefer to sell and buy at the season's end as there's no ts hit and even though I won't fetch massively high prices I'll be able to buy players at lower prices. -

Firing players doesn't affect team spirit, if they're under inadequate skill I'd fire them. Inadequates will sometimes sell for 0, I generally list them anyway but some don't.
