  1. I hear Danny Graham is buying a lovely cottage in the Langdales.
  2. Crikey we are in trouble with injuries: Long term- Dack, Travis, Butterworth. This weekend- Magliore, Carter, Gallagher, Ayala, Evans Recovering- Johnson
  3. Sod it, I am cancelling my monthly subscription.
  4. Fitness and stamina levels can be tested in the gym. If he is there, he plays. If he is short by a small margin, start and replace If he is a bit further away, sub's bench Further away still, in the commentary box.
  5. It is a given Ainsworth will win the dug out battle. The question is are his players close enough to Rovers in their abilities for Ainsworth's smarts to deliver the result? Last season, Charlton and Luton players were good enough to deliver their boss' plans at Ewood.
  6. That is a pity. Emmanuel Monthe of Tranmere defending against Akinfenwa on a pudding of a pitch at Prenton Park was the highlight of my football watching last season. Akinfenwa scored a classic poachers headed goal as well- he lost his marker. Hard to believe anyone could miss him but the Tranmere defence did!
  7. Akinfenwa- what a unit! Nearly 38 years old and 18 stones apparently. As mobile as a lump of concrete but he certainly knows how to time his shuffles to poach goals.
  8. Oh no. At least we have a lot of midfield cover.
  9. Chapman scored a fine individual goal against Fleetwood. Match report: A minute later, Buckley went to ground in the box following a positive burst forward by Chapman, but his penalty appeals were waved away. Rovers threatened again when Buckley’s ball across the face of goal was just out of Chapman’s reach, but the hosts opened the scoring against the run of play on 14 minutes when Paul Coutts’ corner was volleyed goalwards by Danny Andrew and Evans headed home from 10 yards out. It was almost 1-1 four minutes later, as Chapman played in Brereton, but Coleman made a smart save with his legs. Rovers had an even better opportunity to draw level a minute later, as Nyambe was tripped by Andrew in the area, but Brereton saw his spot-kick saved by Coleman. On 26 minutes, Rovers were deservedly back on level terms when Chapman drove at the Fleetwood defence, before picking out the bottom left corner from the edge of the area.
  10. I have said it before but there is a high probability of going through the entire season without fans being allowed into grounds.
  11. Boro are not known for skimping on paying wages. The rest of their backline squad were judged to be better value for money than Ayala.
  12. We were spoiled by Tosin last year and still we leaked badly at the back. Really hope he can form an excellent partnership with Lenihan.
  13. Hope we are not all pinning too much hope on Ayala. The Boro players keeping him out of contention are nothing to write home about. I suspect Mulgrew, Williams and Evans will not be at Ewood by mid October based on Mowbray's moan about the suits. Is there any substance about the Greg Cunningham talk on here?
  14. I didn't watch it. One of my least favourite people was proved right. Bruce said he would play his second string and win. He did. They did. Putting it simply if we cannot dominate Newcastle Reserves, there is something very wrong. Sounds like we were told to keep possession rather than shoot. Sounds like Ben muffed his chance to lead the line. Sounds like Dolan twinkled again. Sounds like Ayala was sorely needed. Sounds like zero inspiration.
  15. He is on the bench discussing terms for his return to the Toon
  16. Rovers 83% possession so far so about to let one in any moment now....
  17. Not available here despite trying with a VPN and a UK card number. RATS
  18. Come on guys, another 500 pages and we get a left back!
  19. I know I said don't fiddle with Saturday's team but I would really like to see Buckley and Davenport given proper chances.
