  1. Dack would displace Holtby in the Bournemouth 4-3-3 set-up.
  2. Isn't there a Bournemouth player out of shot getting back to cover the line at the back post?
  3. Haven't got time to re-watch it so thanks for doing so. I did wonder if Bournemouth had got the measure of the ref given Rovers rarely foul to the extent they were penalised in that first half. Your point about shooting is well made. We missed hitting the target on at least those four times when anything directed between the sticks would have stood a 50%+ chance of going in.
  4. Actually I disagree. After five minutes Cook and Smith knew exactly how to snuff out his trickery. It would have been a fantastic learning for Tyrhys against very seasoned Premier League level defenders and hopefully the coaches will be running every second of his time on the pitch at Bournemouth through with him. Definitely keep him for impact off the bench particularly in combination with a second speedster- shock horror why not throw Dolan and Chapman on together?. We lacked pace in the first half where starting Rothwell could have made a difference
  5. Thanks, I did so at half time. Interesting that Bournemouth use the live feed from BBC Radio Solent rather than having their own commentary team. Imagine having Radio Lancashire and getting pre-match comments from Turf Moor...
  6. Very encouraging performance with the gutting defeat - all too predictable and in fact I predicted back at the start of this match thread. My fault lads. Seriously, we should have won today except from Red Sea parting of the waves at the back and three really excellent strikes from Bournemouth. Both Dolan and Rothwell were electric when they came on but the Bournemouth experienced defenders pretty quickly got tight enough to Dolan to snuff him out and sadly force the error which cost us the defeat. I hope Mowbray perseveres with Dolan because he is going to win more for us than he loses and he certainly injects a level of watchability. Anybody seen a replay of our disallowed goal? I thought we were played on at the back post.
  7. Very encouraging debut. The defence parted four times in front of him- three excellent strikes with no chance of saving but the strike which he could get to he did and produced a save you only realise how good it is when replayed in slo mo afterwards. Really like his distribution. Ball going two thirds of the pitch and giving our players a very decent chance of winning it. Noticed second half it was all pass it short so Mowbray must have taken the aggression out of him at HT.
  8. No criticism of Kaminsky on their goal- that was as good a strike from 25 yards as we are likely to see in a Rovers game all season. Great to be back in it but Johnson had not inspired before that strike. We lack conviction in the final third but otherwise this is very promising. Bring Dolan on to inject pace and I think the Bournemouth defence will struggle.
  9. Woops. The commentary is from Portsmouth!!!
  10. Wow, They must have sorted out their log in. Straight into the video in a couple of seconds- well done.
  11. Good luck to Kaminski on his debut today.
  12. Let's agree to disagree. Last sentence is nuts though.
  13. Surprised at Brooks not starting. Bournemouth had a strong end of season and almost escaped so could presage a strong start to this season. That Rovers side should have enough about it provided Bell and Johnson are not having a sleepy afternoon.
  14. I would have had Evans in ahead of Johnson but otherwise pleasantly surprised. Hope JRC shines again.
  15. Not sure about King but Raya post dates cashing the sell on clauses. Agreed 10% is disgracefully low on Raya. Let's see if we have a keeper in Keminsky but Raya was a dreadful misjudgement by Mowbray.
  16. Two hours from the big kick off and feeling far more worried about Mowbray's selection, formation and tactics than I am about Bournemouth. Yes, Stanislas and Brooks are too good for this level but we have learned that there is no opposition in this Division we should fear.
  17. Expecting a promising performance and a dispiriting defeat.
  18. This is Accy Stanley and Fleetwood's season in League 1... Morecambe and Barrow to come 23rd and 24th in League 2 but will survive through other clubs collapsing and being expelled.
  19. Brentford are past masters at selling their stars and replacing astutely with even better. Has Raya signed for Arsenal yet?
  20. Covid is sadly ramping up again. R over 1 and cases doubling inside a week. Govt for sure are going to do everything they can to keep schools open so live crowds at football matches simply isn't happening again in 2020. This dawning realisation is going to tip several EFL clubs and even the odd PL outfit into absolute despair financially before the window closes. For one thing, PL clubs declare their squad of 25 before the EFL Window closes so loan availabilities become much more visible. Rovers keeping their budget to themselves could be in prime position to do some remarkably astute business in early October. A wily old campaigner like Warnock will be thinking thjis way up at Boro.
  21. The best footballers at Ewood/Brockhall are dramatically different from those in January 2019. Don't know how they are going to fit together but if Nyambe, Lenihan, Travis, JRC, Buckley, Dolan, Armstrong and the only point of continuity Dack get regular playing time we could yet have a great season. Really puts the pressure on everyone else in the squad if they are picked and perform as they are showing they are capable of.
  22. Very late consolation goal the day after...
