Very sorry to read this. You never know what will happen though so don't give up.

Nobody in since the quarantined keeper, nobody out? I am ok with that.
-
Diana Rigg was unsurpassable.

Another dull dull yawn

Two transfer deadline days. 5 Oct for Prem incomings 16 Oct for Prem outgoings and the EFL. Plenty of time to hit 1,000 pages on this thread!

Season Predictions 2020-2021
philipl replied to Hoochie Bloochie Mama's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Squad even with the current defensive inadequacies good enough to make top 6. Mowbray will squander 10 to 20 points net so another standstill season producing points in the range 55-65. Finish 10th. -
Obviously communication and lack of replica shirts is terrible. But it is extremely reasonable of the club not to offer to sell something (a season ticket) for something which doesn't exist. It is quite possible the entire season will be played behind closed doors.
-
Buckley has to feature.
-
Lack of gate money and match day commercial will be hurting the majority of clubs far harder than Rovers. Clubs in wealthier areas with smaller gates will earn more match day income than Rovers so Covid is levelling the playing field far more in our favour (contradiction in terms) than FFP ever would.

Team selection, tactics and formation will be a lucky dip. What we have learned from the pre-season friendlies is our second choice eleven would walk a Championship made up of second choice elevens. Nobody has the first clue what our first choice eleven should be. As for Bournemouth, they will be anything from hungover to totally fired up and anything in between. We could even be facing Wilson and King playing to impress watching scouts to secure their moves. Impossible to forecast beyond 4/1 on being disappointed by Mowbray.

JRC, Nyambe and Lenihan are this summer's most important signings now we have a keeper. Kipre would have been a big step forward but I cannot see us being in the market for anyone else who could make a significant improvement to our promotion prospects when played out of position (which we all know Mowbray would).

Hilarious it has fallen to me to start this thread. Limped to a 1-0 win with a 91st minute penalty and Iceland even got a later penalty but hit Greenland with it. Chaddy's Union Jack will be along in a minute.

After today, do we really need any new players?

The Ryan Nyambe Appreciation Thread

Nyambe was superb against Leicester -
Leicester will struggle this season. They had a horrible end to last season and are weaker now. That said that was very encouraging from Rovers. Fisher had horror moments which kill any prospects of a career but his distribution was mostly excellent. Bell looked very decent Nyambe outstanding- he will be a PL player Williams very solid but Magliore was superb against Vardy. Not seen him before but as others have said probably the best of the trio emerging; Carter sadly gets done for pace- not Tyler Magliore! Another anonymous Johnson performance, Travis more interested than in other friendiles but Buckley and Davenport were outstanding when they came on. Lovely cameo from Chapman but the tackling back by Dolan was something else. Star of the show was JRC- he is going to be one hell of a player for us this season.

Fisher butter fingers
-
Dumb substitutions. Just as JRC is really showing.
-
Agreed totally. Looking forward to 2nd half- that's put the mockers on things!

Cheer up- just 8 more pages of comments to go and we've done our bit to get another signing. Just reading your one liner saved me from looking at the last 20 pages. An inch is as good as a mile if we missed signing Roy Keane, Zidaine, Bobby Baggio, Lewandowski and (this summer) Messi... I know I unload on Mowbray a lot but got to say the professional football players seem to have as positive an image of him as I do. We simply don't attract our targets.
-
I missed Holtby out by mistake so 12. And I think you can only call JRC, Vale, Buckley and Butterworth true Academy graduates.
-
So we have Dolan who looks a flyer, a flying keeper and a kid from Celtic. Sold nobody. Have I missed anything?

Championship Season 2020 - 2021

Villa carry on over paying. -
Gallagher was signed as a Brereton replacement or cover for the Brereton first season embarrassment if we are being realistic and was then pushed into playing totally out of position. Gallagher for me is the mistake Brereton is firmly in the don't know column. What we are seeing now is a world removed from the 19 year old we signed. The Blackpool goals suggest there is another level to Ben's game which we hopefully will see this season. I have no idea how you fit Armstrong, Brereton, Gallagher, Dack, Rothwell, Dolan, JRC together let alone Vale, Buckley,Butterworth, Chapman. Yet at the back, we cannot find a first level back up or even a reliable first choice. This is inexcusable from Mowbray who has had three and a half seasons to mould a squad and created an odd job set of all-sorts he is relying on to.be flexible enough to play out of position.
