  1. Yes Reading as a club have the aggressive mentality which could make them an unexpected package. Their away wins at Cardiff and Derby aren't too shabby and while Barnsley were reduced to 9, they still needed beating. The loan of Gibson from Everton could be very handy and Joao always has goals in him.
  2. Wouldn't disagree but which clubs in this division have the personnel to play that way effectively and counter the gegenpressing we are now using?
  3. Go to the gear icon and select the Away commentary.
  4. When Mowbray says he hasn't the budget of previous seasons, it is worth remembering £7m went on slow burner Brereton two years ago and £5m on no burner Gallagher last season. Doesn't mean he can do absolutely nothing this season. Back up keeper and left back are essential. Tricky to impossible to get loanees who bench warm though so I would absolutely go flat out to get a loan left back from PL or top flight league abroad and see if we can pick up an established keeper abroad too. Make the most of the EU transition arrangements before that door closes. Beyond that, how when fit will JRC, Ayala, Evans, Travis, Dack and Gallagher ( let's not forget Butterworth) get back into this team if it keeps clicking like this plus consider Buckley could blossom to be as good as any of them? Plus Chapman. And that is before the possibility of any of the current crops of under 23 and under 18 really kicking on. I know it won't happen but if everyone is fit, established first teamers will not even make the subs bench. No chance then for Wharton, Magliore, Mols, Carter, Brennan et Al..
  5. Too many Championship Manager players!
  6. Whether we have money or don't, right now is the time to make church mice look like millionaires. The lads have done their stuff making us early contenders. I doubt any player can look at coming to Rovers as a Championship club as anything other than a fantastic opportunity.
  7. Immense today. What a fabulous player.
  8. Well that was sensational stuff. No after the Lord's Mayor Show- we simply went and did it again! I really really hope Tony Mowbray makes me eat all my words pressing to have him replaced. Running through the team. Keminsky looks a solid if showy keeper but his distribution accuracy could be like having an 11th outfield player. JRC was excellent until he did his hamstring Nyambe looked well up for it when he replaced JRC- great to see the competition for places Lenihan reliable and what a block early on Williams great defending and excellent passing throughout; a revelation Bell did everything needed of him and was outstanding Holtby my MOM. Just superb reading of the game, interceptions, positioning and passing. Now getting to see what won him those German caps Johnson great shots for the two goals, especially the first, but a true enforcer and creator all over the park Rothwell probably the best game yet for Rovers. His link play and positioning was exceptional but boy did he terrify Derby when he surged forward Bennett as Stuart said came on and his energy did the job for Rovers at the end- even getting Rooney booked! Dolan again dazzling scoring one and having a big hand in another. Those experienced Derby players didn't know what to do with him until they started doubling up against him. What a prospect, what a star already! Chapman is no Dolan but he contributed and his pass for Armstrong to score was sublime Brereton. If I am shutting up moaning about Mowbray, the doubters can now be quiet about Ben. Absolutely immense today. Magnificent ball control and running with the ball. Mobile creating a nightmare for defenders to pick him up. The goals will come. Talking of which Armstrong scored a goal... again.
  9. Bell had an outstanding First Half. Giving him a shout out. 14 shots, 7 on target in the first half for Rovers. Derby have taken Marriot off.
  10. Got the pictures from iFollow. They have forgotten to switch on the commentary!
  11. Swansea 2 up in 23 minutes is putting a perspective on what we did last Saturday.
  12. Pedant Hiding under the table
  13. Thank you- I haven't seen enough of Whiteman to know. Good luck to him and Swansea. Yes Mowbray was grumpy. But by all accounts he had just missed out on the Manc youngster and the QPR left back. We know that to be fact. Everything else is speculation until 17.00 on 12 October. As I have said before, unless precisely the player Rovers want is in their sights, I'd hold tight now for the crazy 72 hours running into the Premier window closing then again the 72 hours before our window closes.
  14. Like it! And precisely why I am really looking forward to this game and nervous as hell at the same time.
  15. Travis, Holtby, Johnson, Evans, Buckley, Davenport in a 4-3-3 Add Dack, Chapman, Dolan, JRC, Brennan in a 4-4-2 Which ones does Whiteman get selected ahead of? A much better guide than talking notional League 1/ notional Championship.
  16. Just so long as Ben doesn't have designs on challenging Jason Roberts' record for open goal misses...
  17. @OwenBradley · 20h Phillip Cocu tells RamsTV that Jack Marriott & Kamil Jozwiak both trained today. #dcfcfans
  18. The point about Johnson's salary isn't he doesn't pay for anything except his taxes and his Ryanair flights to bunga bunga parties. Oh and child support for 76 kids. Anyway, anticipating transfers staying quiet until the PL deadline looms on 5 October when we will be looking at loans as the squads of 25 get firmed up then the week after gets interesting when all the EFL clubs stare their new crowd-less financial reality full in the face.
  19. The land is totally separate from the chicken feed business. The chicken feed business is the only one of 40+ businesses publicly quoted and it has ridden the wave of loose money to dramatically higher share prices as well as being well run.
  20. After a 5-0 win it would be cruel not to pick the same side. Unless Bell shines I expect to see JRC swapping to left back and Nyambe coming on.
  21. Staircases, entrances, bars, loos are all problems
  22. The share price was about 200 when they bought Rovers. Now 1300!
  23. The window closes on 12 October I believe. Don't worry, we will make it to 1,000 pages.
  24. It is certainly true the dramatic improvement in approach by the owners exactly coincides with Mowbray's tenure. However, I have never previously heard even a hint that Mowbray is the cause.
  25. That is incredible considering how early we exited the Cups.
