  1. That 5-0 ups the pressure on Tony. We all now know how well we can play and that is the standard we should be aspiring to every match.
  2. Mulgrew can still do a job at this level. With Evans, Dack and Cunningham all out long term good to have Charlie back at Ewood.
  3. Perhaps worth asking the question, if all teams performed to the top of their potential every week, where would we be in the table. My guess is higher than we are now.
  4. Really happy for Ryan. Always felt he was an exceptional player with huge potential.
  5. Tosin oozes class. Yes makes mistakes still but he wouldn't be here without them and gives me the hope we might keep him if we fluke promotion this season.
  6. Exactly bluebruce. The frustration of watching Rovers has been knowing individually and collectively we are so much better than what we have been seeing. Yes a game in which everything comes together like that comes along only once in a while but the gulf between that performance and Luton or Charlton is unacceptably large. Let's enjoy the next ten days but puts big pressure on Mowbray to make sure we kick on. QPR are in many ways the form team of the division so the perfect opponents a week on Tuesday.
  7. First of all we should give credit where credit is really due- to the publicans of South Yorkshire. That is a sterling piece of inn-keeping with the Wednesday players permanently on the lash since their 2-0 win at Elland Road last week. With a bit of luck they won't sober up until after the play-offs.. I am totally delighted but not surprised. In the everyone can beat everyone category, Wednesday had this coming to them since their Rhodes assisted 4-0 romp at the City Ground, Nottingham. And Rovers have a history of unexpected good results at Hillsborough- I have seen a couple of 3-0 wins there and to be honest I think I have only ever seen us lose once there. Also not surprised because I have felt all season that individually and collectively, Rovers are capable of being a lot better than Mowbray usually sets us up to be. Fingers crossed there is minimal tinkering for the QPR game. They are well capable of repaying the compliment back at Ewood; we were quite fortunate to get away with only a 4-2 defeat down at Loftus Road. Shame we have to wait ten days for that game to come round.
  8. In the dug out- he has been subbed. Had a yellow so sensible to replace him.
  9. Meantime, just another two goals in that Dortmund game- Borussia 1 down at HT, winning 5-3 after 75 minuites.
  10. Hang on guys, I can't keep up with this. What's going on?
  11. We don't want a repeat of goings on at Dortmund at Hillsborough- just the 5 goals in the opening 15 minutes in the second half.
  12. We're doomed now. Wednesday down to 10 after straight red.
  13. Given how they lost at Ewood, we can expect Wednesday to start very fast for this one. If still 0-0 after 25 minutes it will be a case of who takes their chances (s). But more likely to be 3 down.. Incidentally, 40 minutes to kick off and this thread not even top on our football forum page.
  14. I am sad to say, I am not in the least bit surprised to see this thread. Mowbray's transfer activities have sadly completely done for us.
  15. I think it is trying to keep eleven players on the pitch and telling them to go explore places they don't normally go.
  16. What is wrong with people's ability to read what I write, I said the most recent time I had watched them live was the Leeds game. I said that they were very unfortunate not to be 3 up at half time at Leeds. Ok I am going to expand that 1) I was really impressed with how PNE defended when Leeds came out at them in front of a capacity hostile Eland Road holiday crowd in the second half. 2) I watched all 90 minutes of two other PNE games which they won shortly before the Leeds game. I normally have a brief glance at other games to see how other Championship sides are going and in both cases, PNE were playing such entertaining football and stayed with the whole game just for the pleasure of watching them. For what it's worth, the only other Championship sides that have had that affect on me are West Brom, Sheffield Wednesday and Brentford. I am pretty certain I caught Sheff Weds on their purple day but I suspect West Brom and Brentford regularly entertain. Brentford neither score that many or conceed any so to be entertaining as well is quite something. I watch probably 75% of Rovers games. Only Bristol City away was as pleasurable. If I were viewing every game as a neutral I would have switched off after five or ten minutes. Guys never mind the Results, turning watching Rovers into a chore is a serious problem on so many levels.
  17. I have not watched them since the game at Leeds where they should have been at least 3 up at half time. The basis is the evidence of my own eyes. PNE's best has been far better than our best football and would slaughter the sort of Tony tombola line-up it looks like we will have no option but putting out tomorrow. Yes their last few results have been terrible but we all know what that means when a team comes to charity help yourself Ewood...
  18. Been impressed by Preston's football every time I have seen them. Rovers 0 PNE 3
  19. Barrow looking good for returning to League football. Hit 7 past Ebbsfleet yesterday. Will probably replace Morecambe who sank back to the bottom of League 2.
  20. Buckley is undoubtedly a prospect. Needs management that knows how to nurture him and fans with a bit more patience.
  21. Back in the Mowbray got to go camp. He is getting at most 75% out of the squad he has at his disposal.
