Leeds (A) - Same as last year lads... kind of.

Leeds are no great shakes from what I have seen of them thus far even for our injury depleted squad. If Mowbray is serious about being upwardly ambitious, we will return from Elland Road with at least a point. -

A lot of water passed under many bridges between 2007 and 2010. If you read the link Vinjay posted, 2007 was the start of the events which lead up to the 2014 judgement. Absolutely no way would the Trust have entertained most of the 2010 bidders in 2007. -

Qataris had two goes, once with the Trust in 2007 which never became public knowledge and once with the Raos which did. The Australian wasn't called Dan and was worth £7bn at the time he was interested. He was the guy who organised the Sydney Olympics. -

The Walker heirs completely destabilised the running of their own Trust and indeed frustrated Jack's dreams in many ways when he was alive. There have been two law suits relating to the Trust in the period 2007-2012 I am aware of. The financial crash inevitably impacted the Trust but it was large and we'll managed enough to have sailed through. It was the legal challenge which totally upset the apple cart and that was primarily over Flybe which under Trust management in the early 2000s had grown to become a disproportionately large part of the asset base. An airline worth £500m at the peak was recently sold to Virgin for £1. There was the Australian bidder for Rovers which was serious back in 2010 which was undermined by people within the club whose loyalties lay elsewhere plus the Qataris twice looked but not in 2010. So it is not true to say there weren't other wealthy serious bidders who know their way around top level international sports management. Because of the structure and location of the debt today I am not overly worried that it represents a short term existential threat to Rovers. If Rovers were an established Premier League club it could become a big issue on a sale as valuation of such clubs now start around £300m. The actions and support of Venky's has been exemplary since the dismissal of Coyle. It is over to the Ewood on and off field management to deliver their side of the bargain. -

Phew- Thanks for yesterday's last few minutes otherwise the table would have been a huge worry this morning.--- -
I had forgotten how lucky we were not to concede an equaliser just before Walton's wonder save.
-
The number of Liverpool fans here in Malta- heard the roar from 500 meters away.
-
Wow but seriously we don't deserve this
-
Woohoo Tosin. I know we have been rubbish but we didn't really deserve to lose this.
-
Huddersfield just scored late to go above us as well
-
Gally injured
-
Agreed aggrieved
-
Well at least Wednesday didn't have shooting boots on- cannot expect them not to change footware at HT. Can be certain Mowbray will change nothing.
-
Rovers dominating possession but doing nothing
-
Wednesday had 3 corners, Rovers 1
-
Another Bennalty has to be a likely event this afternoon.

England made so many mistakes but South Africa dominated in all aspects and every phase of the game. Could easily have lost by a lot more than 20. Delighted for my South African friends and great to see that magnificent beautiful country get a positive boost like this. -
Walton has no effective competition. The only difference from Raya is that with Raya we would have had two or three absolute worldies to have savoured by now.
-
I have lost any confidence. Wednesday eminently beatable even with our injury list but we won't win. Another play-off side which is totally mediocre and we should be putting to the sword.
-
4-0 half time, 4-3 with two quick fire late Everton goals and a minute of added time left...
-
Just brought myself to watch the highlights again. Walton's mistakes for the first are even worse than I remembered them. Completely misjudges the flight of the ball for what should have been the most routine of catches. Then Bennett had no need to foul the guy who was chasing a ball heading for the byline outside the box. Even if he got to it to get a shot in, Bennett was still well placed to get a close range block on it. Nyambe sadly missing for their winner.

We wouldn't be the first club to be relegated from this division with a strong squad on paper. Just hope the change in Manager comes before the window so the new boss can do some patching up at the back.
