I am sure Barnsley, Stoke and Huddersfield fans are fervently hoping you are right. -
Your expectations for the coming Season...
philipl replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Simply posting an observation, not a forecast. Next three are looking tougher than expected- Luton will be giving it everything to avoid getting sucked into a relegation vortex while both Forest and QPR are going very nicely indeed. -
https://news.sky.com/story/thomas-cook-to-meet-creditors-in-final-bid-for-1631bn-rescue-11816496?dcmp=snt-sf-twitter Critical last gasp meeting currently under way. I desperately hope Thomas Cook are saved but I am pessimistic. All comes down to a Brexit equation. If creditors believe Brexit will happen, the £ dives and Thomas Cook's international non-£ liabilities increase proportionately. This is a bet on/against Brexit now.

This is not to belittle Swansea, QPR or Preston but our points difference today against the clubs being tipped on here at the start of the season are: Leeds -4 Bristol City -1 Forest -1 West Brom 0 (they have a game in hand) Cardiff +1 Fulham +1 Boro +4 Brentford +5 Derby +5 Stoke +11 Huddersfield +12 (they play WBA today) -
Back To Back!!!???. Boys left everything on the pitch today!! @BradDacks40 and @AdamArma9 coming up trumps again!!?. Great to have @LewisHoltby at the club and make his debut today! All round team effort today. Safe journey home to all!!???? @Rovers #ArteEtLabore ??? Great tweet by Greg Cunningham

Rovers new style of play and how we play it
philipl replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Clear Mowbray will change formations and personnel match to match from his comments. So we don't so much have a new style of play as having several styles which will be used. -
Mowbray has said Tosin and Rothwell were both going to start and that change of line up and formation was forced very late. Also said he will be rotating his starting line up and players will be benched who won't expect to be to give others chances but also to maintain intensity of performance from everyone in every game over a long season. Interestingly he said Tosin is not used to the physical intensity now being demanded of him.
-
But for good or for ill he got his man in the end.
-
Already have done.
-
Bit ropey initially then began to show his class and could/should have scored. Perhaps over anxious to perform well but can certainly pick a pass.
-
Phew we made it. Great win and a chance to build momentum. Kudos Mowbray's selection?
-
Mowbray doesn't half set himself up. If we don't win today it will be 100% on him. A certain statistic is we will be offside getting on for ten times. Armstrong running for delayed balls from midfield.
-
Where is Tosin today???

Crikey if we get something out of this afternoon, the club will feel it has turned a corner. From the BBC: Reading have won three of their last four league matches against Blackburn (W3 D1) having won just two of their first 16 against them between 1979 and 2016 (W2 D8 L6). Blackburn have lost their last three league visits to Reading, last winning there in February 2014. Reading's John Swift has created 27 chances in the Championship this season - six more than any other player. Blackburn midfielder Bradley Dack has scored in each of his last two league matches - he has never scored in three consecutive league appearances. Reading have lost their last two league matches without scoring - they last lost three in a row without finding the net back in April 2015. Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray is yet to register a league victory over Reading as a manager in seven attempts (D2 L5).

I will have a half glass of hemlock too kind sir.

Gallagher, Chapman, Armstrong in last twelve months. Clearly didn't want Palmer. Nearly got Reed but we might have done better in getting Holtby. So Mowbray's record pretty impressive in this regard. Cunningham is probably a certain bet if we want him. Walton will take some doing while Tosin will probably depend on getting promoted.
-
Got a feeling that this could be a bit of a rout- who is doing the routing and who is being routed is anybody's guess.
-
Rovers have a pretty decent record of turning loans they want to keep into permanent signings.

Rovers new style of play and how we play it

Maybe being hopelessly optimistic but Holtby could be the key to the jigsaw puzzle. 1) He makes competition for places that much more intense 2) His reported passing abilitycould make the sort of attack Mowbray dreams of feasible 3) If he is as good as reported he will give us the sort of midfield resilience Villa had last season 4) just need to give Armstrong and Chapman brain transplants and we have an automatic promotion winning squad... -
I feel for everyone affected by this but I fear Thomas Cook are now in a death spiral. Customers and potential customers are reacting to protect their interests. As a result what was reported as a £200m hole that needed filling last night is probably a £500m hole this morning. Businesses go bust very slowly then very quickly.
-
Tosin and Cunningham are new defenders. Walton is a new keeper. That is three of the five or six at the back.

What are your rights? If you are on a package holiday you are covered by the Air Travel Organiser's Licence scheme (ATOL). The scheme will pay for your accommodation abroad, although you may have to move to a different hotel or apartment. ATOL will also pay to have you brought home if the airline is no longer operating. If you have holiday booked in the future you will also be refunded by the scheme. If you have booked a flight-only deal you will need to apply to your travel insurance company or credit card and debit card provider to seek a refund. When Monarch Airlines collapsed in 2017, the government organised to bring home all the stranded passengers, whether they were covered by ATOL or not.

Very real possibility they will go bust in the near future. 150,000 people will need repatriating. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/sep/20/thomas-cook-in-talks-stave-off-collapse-biggest-peacetime-repatriation
