  1. Rovers don't half know how to turn a great weekend into an absolute bummer. Luton are easy to beat 1) You play with a bit of zip 2) You disrupt the lumps in the back four across the edge of the area by shooting on sight from distance and mixing it with crossing from the byline. We did everything by the book which reads "how to lose to Luton at home- not likely but not impossible" And as for criticism of Gallagher, it was the 40th minute before he received a cross anywhere remotely within heading distance. Criticism maybe due of Gallagher and Dack but we played in a way totally designed to nullify their threats completely. Barnsley and Wigan will be hating us for the charity for southern relegation candidates.
  2. Thankfully not much time to dwell on that abysmal performance against Luton. I missed the last 35 minutes when my feed dropped and I will miss all of this because I will be flying Tuesday night. Forest next up who have the benefit of having played and won at Stoke Friday night to take top slot for 16 hours. They are no great shakes but no weak links either. Nothing exceptional apart from being the dirtiest team I have seen in ages. The niggling fouls come thick and fast stopping the opposition from playing so if we don't have a decent ref on Tuesday, a red card from frustration for one of our players has to be on the cards.... Stoke scored twice by pressing hard up field. Forest simply had to wait for the Stoke unforced errors of which there were at least 30. In truth, they only made the balls ups in Stoke's area count- a more ruthless side would have run up a cricket score. Another lethargic outing like today will cost us heavily. No forecast because this is Rovers- play like drains and we lose, play to our potential and we win. No idea how motivated we will be. Mowbray needs to pick an XI with real desire to win.
  3. Geographic- it was available in Malta but the signal broke completely just before the Luton winner.
  4. I missed the first 15 minutes because of a phone cal but what I saw was utter rubbish. No energy, no drive, no desire. Feed died just before the Luton winner. Seriously, we really don't help help ourselves do we? Especially as there were some results in our favour in other games.
  5. My ifollow totally dead after having a good stream.
  6. Signal has dropped so I haven't seen the Luton 2nd. Charlton all over again
  7. Every touch by Armstrong horrible this half so far
  8. To say we are low energy is overstating our performance. Luton are there for the taking but we are simply not interested in helping ourselves. Needs winding up a lot in the second half or we will lose this.
  9. Finally a cross finds a Rovers head 32 minutes in
  10. Now Walton kicking for touch. Been watching too much Rugby world cup
  11. Very low intensity from Rovers. Thankfully Luton score early. Hopefully we wake up.
  12. Ok Blind down ( very sunny) Bottle of Maltese Primotivo Bottle of water Bag of biscuits Web sites all primed COYB
  13. No Anderson Shebby Ex PNE chairman Vs Waggott Mowbray
  14. This 100% It is sunk cost. Let's hope Ben makes a better than full recovery and comes good.
  15. We started that post relegation season playing like drains yet somehow winning games. It later fell apart and Kean got off the bus at Charnock Richard services.
  16. Sorry to be a misery but looks like Cox & Kings, another venerable holiday operator is about to go. They are very much top end of the market and long haul.
  17. We know now that Rovers weren't one or two players short of a play-off place last January, we were half a squad short. Mowbray and Waggott always talked about a four window player acquisition strategy. What happened last January picking up Chapman as an injury wreck punt fits into that view and probably the Raos really respect the care which is at long long last being taken with their money. Suppose we had blown £10m on the Boro forward- was that enough to get to the play-offs? No; we needed at least three at the back as well. So let's say £20m later and we fluked it to 6th. Odds on winning the play-offs??? We are building steadily but very clearly advancing. Let's see if the current defence and game management buy us a bunch of wins now- we might be ahead of schedule BUT Is this squad going to stay in the Premier League if we get there? Clubs have tried buying a Premier League outfit in the summer transfer market and have found themselves back in the Championship having blown a pretty unrecoverable £50-100m in transfer fees and got themselves a £60m pa wage bill to boot. Perhaps two or maybe four current players are Premier League standard. That needs to be more like eight or nine ahead of Promotion to even have a prayer of finishing 17th first season back.
  18. Meanwhilst I am looking forwards to Holtby's home debut. Give him a big cheer!
