  1. Missed a few youngsters off who will be challenging eg Magloire
  2. Very sad to see Raya go- he has pulled off numerous world class saves whilst at Rovers and I still think he will become a major force in the game. Whoever the new keeper is, he is going to have to be a class act to be better than David.
  3. Squad becoming better balanced and some real decent experience from players who have been there, done that.
  4. In which case playing three relegation haunted teams in our last three fixtures will kill that...
  5. I can exclusively reveal that we will probably be in compliance with all 72 pages of this: https://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Tech/uefaorg/General/02/56/52/75/2565275_DOWNLOAD.pdf
  6. I'd bring in Adams- always enjoyed watching him. Mowbray et al will need to get him fitter than he was last year at Stoke but as an impact sub he can score from distance- a threat we simply didn't have last year. On another front, been reading Brentford fans besides themselves in desperation to sign Raya. Quite simply for me, he doesn't leave unless we have a markedly better keeper in the bag. Sod the Championship Manager game players on this site.
  7. Netherlands v Sweden tonight. Two well-matched outfits but I would marginally favour the Dutch. Depends if the Swedes knocking out the Germans has taken too much out of them. If the Dutch do go through they might upset the Americans. USA much the better footballing outfit BUT The Dutch are a big physical side so won't lose the 50/50s England were losing all over the park last night AND Unlike England, the Dutch don't make careless mistakes in possession
  8. Take it back- clipped. Now a penalty miss again?
  9. That was a miss and a half by Miss Shearer.
  10. Bright horribly at fault for their second goal. The speed and trickery of the USA making her look like a big lump.
  11. Extremely good move. We needed to secure him.
  12. Regardless of any further signings or departures, having such a young squad SHOULD mean we improve next season so par for course I'd put at 10th to 12th. Keep coming back to August fixtures- we could easily be bottom 3 on 1 September and be facing a long hard slog- I expect there are at least three worse teams than us but those last three fixtures turn into six pointers and anything can happen. On the other hand, if we are in the top ten on 1 September, we could be in for a very interesting and exciting season.
  13. Not going to reopen the Maltese men's team debate but the women's team which impressed me the most for skill, organisation and fitness has been the Japanese. I'd take their impassive unsmiling coach to sort out any football team. All about 5ft nothing though.
  14. I am old enough to remember signing John McNamee. A rubbish defence stabilised and grew around him. All the Rovers defenders except Mulgrew are young or youngish so I am not writing any of them off unlike the rest of you. Stick a rock of a central defender in with them and I would bet on them and the rest of the team transforming.
  15. I only want a proven commanding centre half and I don't care if the entire transfer budget goes on one player.
  16. Different game but still recognisably football. Been very impressed by technical skills and some of the passing has been breathtaking- both good and awful. England v tonight's winners could go any direction including humiliating defeat and thumping victory. England can make Rovers midfield and defence look super switched on and aware but the attack when it clicks can destroy any defense in the women's game.
  17. I saw enough of Bauer to hope he would only be a squad player. Questionable whether he would displace Williams and Mulgrew.
  18. Perhaps he won't find another club if he is unfit?
  19. Red Imps in Gibraltar seem to do pretty well.
  20. A dustbin wagon painted green after your ex has thrown all your worldly goods out.
