  1. Rodwell still a possibility. Sounds like curtains for Gladwin, Downing might be bought by Doncaster. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17621814.jack-rodwell-could-stay-at-rovers-despite-italian-interest/?ref=ar Raya number 1 keeper going forwards https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17621809.raya-still-rovers-no1-as-mowbray-explains-leutwiler-run/?ref=ar Mowbray finished player talks- some contracted players might get offered out. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/rovers/news/17624330.rovers-boss-concludes-player-meetings-as-retained-list-nears/?ref=ar
  2. David Conn‏ @david_conn Football support a modern, growing phenomenon in England: EFL declares record attendances at clubs across its 3 divisions, total crowds 18.3m, highest in 60 years, since 1958-59, an era before TV coverage.
  3. Became clear in January players we were chasing were unavailable on price and wages in our plan. Issue now is still finding quality on the right terms, either on loan or purchased. Not expecting us to us our full 5 loan places but one or two of high calibre are highly probable. Rovers are in a much stronger position getting top quality loanees than we were 12 months ago. If you are feeling envious of signing Graeme Shinnie, good luck to you.
  4. I am happy with the current format. Agnelli proposals sound horrific.
  5. Given the amount of body art, perhaps we should just play in skins?
  6. Loans are going to be mission critical. Abraham has made a huge difference wherever he has gone. Which players on the fringes of PL clubs should we be looking at?
  7. Still expect either Chelsea or Arsenal (or both) to mess up tonight. But if we see two all English European finals, worth remembering that perhaps only 6 players in the starting 44 would be available for selection for England and all the Managers will be non-English.
  8. Crazy bonkers. Ajax cut open through the middle by Spurs pace and determination too often to survive for all their brilliance.
  9. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/48199290 Assuming administrators are appointed, I expect the FL to keep all charges live and only decide what to impose and what to hold as suspended sentences pending two years of keeping out of trouble when they hand over Bolton's FL membership to whatever form of BWFC (2019) emerges. I would more than half expect a fans' consortium will be central. Next Bury but at least they don't seem to have monsters currently stalking them... https://www.burytimes.co.uk/news/17599598.bury-fc-owner-steve-dave-puts-troubled-club-up-for-sale/
  10. I cannot see Spurs prevailing tonight- they are the ultimate bottlers.
  11. If I were a Notlobber, I'd be worried that is a smokescreen for Anderson to spread the blame for a liquidation.
  12. Ref at the game knows what is going on in all the off ball niggles etc. Probably will generate some howlers doing it this way.
  13. https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/17624238.bolton-wanderers-a-club-which-cannot-be-allowed-to-die/ Sounds desperate. No sign of any resolution. Against Forest they had only the 18 named in the team sheet. Players who had given notice couldn't play as they had voided their insurance by handing in notice. If ten named against Rovers were not named in the 18, they faced an automatic fine- was unaware of that FL rule before.
  14. Worth remembering that the Dingles developed a string of Prem class centre forwards and sold every one of them- Austin, Vokes, Ings. Woods who they have now probably the least dangerous. More than one way of pushing through but I'd like to keep Dack. At the very least as Mowbray pointed out, he is an insurance against FFP problems because we will be forced to sell in the summer of 2020.
  15. Still finding that win by Liverpool surreal. Barca were remarkably inept at taking the sting out. Last goal was something under 9s are coached not to do!
  16. https://www.ft.com/content/700dfa86-70d2-11e9-bbfb-5c68069fbd15?segmentId=080b04f5-af92-ae6f-0513-095d44fb3577 Something to look forward to. Not. Advertisers eagerly looking at the opportunity VAR breaks mid game creates... Personally, on balance VAR probably improves the fairness of the game and so long as it is a rarity, seeing the ref going to a screen watching an all but impossible to adjudicate decision adds rather than detracts to the drama. It needs handling better for the spectators in the stadium though. Getting a quick ad for Brekkies would completely ruin it as it would break the intensity of the game for the tv audience. I thought seeing the ref get earphone confirmation of Liverpool's second goal added to the game yesterday because it eradicated thinking about was if legitimate or not.
  17. Venkys are renowned for being extremely difficult if they don't want to sell. Put Dack in the right squad and he could take the Championship apart next season.
  18. Wow just wow. That was surreal. And they did it with half a team of reserves too.
  19. I can think of a few in the past who probably would have had to explain they were players because it wasn't obvious what they were doing on the pitch.... Anyway great victory for the lads with a significantly weakened team this evening.
  20. Got married then managed to get the result at the reception. Lost 0-2 to Southampton at home and Roy Hodgson had been fired straight after the game. Still remember the double shock and completely lost my thread in my Groom's speech!
  21. Lost track here, sorry. Who are you confident of coming to Rovers? Hanley, tomey, Whiteman or someone else you have mentioned?
  22. Bolton face a winding up petition tomorrow. Either of the two current largest shareholders could put the club into administration but neither are doing so. Looking desperate for the Wanderers.
