Don't dismiss Brentford. Owners have money and the dinky new stadium at Kew Bridge will more than double their gate receipts and commercial income. Selling Raya is an absolute NO from me. He needs better coaching and above all, better defenders in front of him.

Don't like either set of Mancs but Manure were never this good.

Horrible horrible things were going on 2009-2013. I was not aware of this particular set of incidents MCMC1875 is alluding to but let's say it fits a pattern in scale and direction of events I am aware of and am also enormously thankful that I was never alone in having knowledge about. Fans and others who were on their own in getting to know about what appeared to be going on or could be singled out became subject to terrible situations. I can think of at least seven people quite apart from whoever MCMC1875 is aware of- perhaps the same people or others. As I have said, I had not previously heard about what I suspect MCMC1875 is alluding to but in other cases; yes there was Police action and there were consequences. One thing I should stress, abysmal decision making and judgement can be levied at the door of Rovers' ownership but I heard absolutely nothing linking them personally to making death threats or equivalent criminality which is a completely different level of issue. blueboy and bluebruce, I am not getting involved in correspondence on this but please give MCMC more respect than you are doing.

Winning 3-0 and into the last minute -
For the record our last two average attendances have been: 2018/19 - 14,552 which is 17th sandwiched between Bolton and Preston. Bolton is divided by 22 and would almost certainly been behind us had they played Brentford. 2017/18 - 12,173 obviously significantly boosted by the Oxford game In the Championship last season 12 clubs averaged gates over 20,000. If you go back to comments at the season start I believe Steve Waggott said the budget was for an average gate of 14,500 which we hit with more home supporters and less away supporters than forecast.
-
Not true. I wandered round the home coach park during our Premier League winning season and there was even a Stroud Valleys Rovers supporters coach up from Gloucestershire. Buses from North Wales, Cumbria and various parts of Yorkshire as well as closer to home. Counted 29 full sized coaches... It is only 8 years since our average home attendance was 25,000 (exactly).

Astonishing no Indian national has yet been registered in the English Football League. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_foreign_EFL_Championship_players

Nothing new- Charlton were doing this in the 1980s when I lived in Chislehurst which was border between Palace and Charlton support. Charlton always emphasised being a Kentish team traditionally being slightly further away from central London than Millwall and West Ham. Other than Gillingham which is very much the club of the Medway towns they have traditionally drawn support from Kent and East Sussex.

Post of the season for me. -
Steer clear of grey. Ferguson was right changing shirts at half time.
-
I expect to see Rovers come back fitter after this summer and to see the frailties at the back addressed. We have a lot of very good youngsters. If we sign players better position for position than we have already then no reason why we cannot get into the mix. Sheffield United and Norwich have given hope to every club in the Championship...
-
And I also think Mowbray can do it for us. As well as being very decent, Mowbray strikes me as someone who watches and learns. Yes too conservative in his selections for my taste and has been guilty last season of losing games from the Manager's area but has enough about him to have won promotion to the Premier League before.
-
Cannot delete so will add another thought/ Yes I am suggesting we should be in the promotion mix next season. We showed enough signs of being good enough last season.
-
Suggested that earlier in the season. No way is Bauer the commanding leader/beast we need.
-
On reflection, Whiteman struck me as a very Mowbray type of player in doing his job, holding his position and as far as I could tell not making any errors in a high pressure frenetic game. What I did like was the speed with which he kept the ball moving - all one touch or rapid two touch and the accuracy of his passing, much of which was half a pitch width or more. A step up on Evans and Smallwood but a big enough step?

Dowling did his stuff as needed. Hugely impressed by the Doncaster manager. His team are fit disciplined brilliantly organised and tactics spot on. He deserves a chance to work with better players. -
Whitman neat holding position well, good accurate passing and one phenomenal tackle upfield which should have made a goal. Nerveless penalty too. But in a game like that too quiet to be potential championship promotion material. Bauer out muscled and out jumped for Doncaster second and utterly AWOL for the third. No thanks.

Cracking game so far.

Good to see Bury survive until their next crisis. Watched Pompey v Sunderland in back ground last night. Both clubs woefully short on quality. Sunderland several players short of what will be needed to survive if they go up. Ref extremely lenient with the cards also. -
I spy with my little eye.. Leeds 2 Derby 4 Have to say there is justice in Leeds getting bombed out at Elland Road. Felt all season that Leeds were a manager without a football squad to match his talents. Any Prem club sniffing around could do a lot worse than taking him from Leeds.

Play-offs had been missing that magic ingredient this season, until I switched on my phone after arrival last night.....

I am proud supporting a club which looks after its players so well and so considerately. I am not in football but I know in business when a relatively small considerate and generous gesture gets known about and helps in perception as a place good people want to go to work at or do business with. -

Huge well done and thanks to one and all! -
When will we know when we are in it?

Fylde former accountant pleaded guilty for defrauding the club of £250k over 30 months to pay for gifts for his model girlfriend. I bet Accy would notice that sort of money missing.
