  1. Wow just wow. That was surreal. And they did it with half a team of reserves too.
  2. I can think of a few in the past who probably would have had to explain they were players because it wasn't obvious what they were doing on the pitch.... Anyway great victory for the lads with a significantly weakened team this evening.
  3. Got married then managed to get the result at the reception. Lost 0-2 to Southampton at home and Roy Hodgson had been fired straight after the game. Still remember the double shock and completely lost my thread in my Groom's speech!
  4. Lost track here, sorry. Who are you confident of coming to Rovers? Hanley, tomey, Whiteman or someone else you have mentioned?
  5. Bolton face a winding up petition tomorrow. Either of the two current largest shareholders could put the club into administration but neither are doing so. Looking desperate for the Wanderers.
  6. South Wales has a relatively small population - under 500,000 from in Cardiff. You cannot say Venky's haven't outspent most of the clubs' owners mentioned- they were advised by venal cretins so mostly wasted.
  7. Yes the plan to move to a stadium where the Bournemouth training centre is (which they own) away from their leased tiddler are on hold as money was deemed needed for team strengthening. 25,000 would not be a problem filling for Bournemouth in a conurbation of over 250,000. Look how Brighton sell out 32,000 having moved from a 7,000 stadium. Ditto Southampton also selling out 32,000 up from 15,000. Even West Ham getting 55,000 up from 35,000 and Spurs finding 60,000 is too small. Worth remembering that southern clubs have a dual advantage: Population and wealth. BwD has the second lowest average wages in England. Average income in Kensington and Chelsea is about five times higher. North West with 5 Prem and 12 EFL clubs has a population of just over 7 million. Home Counties and London with 6 Prem and 10 EFL clubs has a population of around 20 million. *Counting the promotions from the National League into the numbers of clubs.
  8. Precisely- telling him to up his game or else!
  9. A bit of debate about what constitutes a young player. Of players given squad numbers this season, as at today: 16 are 25 or under 8 are 21 or under. Looking encouraging for the future. Plus the likes of Rankin-Costello for whom many are making the case for being good enough now.
  10. Perhaps Mowbray using a spot of psychology with Raya.
  11. Remember how we all beat ourselves up for not signing Gwion Edwards from Shrewsbury after he ran us ragged playing for Ipswich in the first game of the season? Remember Gwion Edwards? Remember Ipswich? Remember Premier League football? Because if this summer's signings are not good enough to bring iPL football back to Ewood I am not really interested because we already have enough talent at the club including the youngsters to avoid relegation next season.
  12. Salah and Formino out of Champion's League 2nd Leg. Barcelona win a formality.
  13. Glad to see Davenport make an impressive debut after having been out for so long. Pressing, passing, pace and a good shot on him.
  14. Leutweiller has let in two goals during his four match stint which would have been routine stops for Raya and be contrast I don't think he has done anything positive Raya wouldn't have. I doubt we will see the tall Canadian on the bench next season- he doesn't have the ability to get down quickly enough. I hope Raya gets his nose rebuilt and his noddle sorted so he can be in the Championship team of the season 19/20. He has the raw ability to make it. It seems probable we will see a new keeper come in and perhaps one Raya will have to work to displace. Far more important signings are in the defensive positions. Yes Raya has dropped a clanger or two too many but he has been left horribly exposed by what has or has not been happening in front of him. Get a solid defence which communicates well and I think we will see Raya grow.
  15. 20 points above a relegation place 13 points off a play-off slot 29 points off automatic promotion. Not bad for first season back Boro, Bristol City can be expected to strengthen as can Villa and/or Leeds and/or Derby. WBA , Swansea and Stoke have tough second season down financial decisions to make. Relegated Cardiff wiil be tough but perhaps not quite good enough, Huddersfield will need some rebuilding while Fulham under Scott Parker will walk the Championship if their owners keep pouring the cash in. So it won't get any easier but we probably have the most encouraging crop of younger players we have had this decade at the club so I for one am excited by what next year could bring. Get the goals against column down from 69 to under 50 and we will have a very good season in 2019/20.- this squad has goals in it irrespective of whether DG's legs last but that defence needs sorting.
  16. Despite likely to be without Robson-Kanu, got a feeling West Brom will go up through the play-offs. Leeds and Derby will kick each other off the park if the refs aren't strong.
  17. Good pressing for the last 15 minutes. If only we could cross the ball from the right- at least four crosses went horribly wrong. Mowbray gets the 60 points! 16,227 crowd.
  18. Could easily have been 1-4 half time. Again an inexplicable selection.
