  1. Let's see the team spirit at work because that defence is going to need it.
  2. So that's how they knew how to score two goals in injury time against us.
  3. Belokon is likely to become a "star" for his BIB banking in the forthcoming productions of "Donald duck- dodgy dough" and "Drat Den Danske"
  4. Seems to be falling outs not league position-related. He has survived today so I guess they are keeping him.
  5. Is Marshall at least as good as he was when he was here? Not from the bits I have seen.
  6. Apparently Karanka on point of being dismissed at Forest because of disagreements.
  7. At least one in game we start completely dominant taking the game to the opposition. Wouldn't be surprised if we come out tomorrow like we did at Stoke.
  8. Never forget after we beat them 4-1 at the old Den last game of the season, Millwall fans streaming onto pitch towards the Rovers pen and stopping before the fence to applaud us. Well they had just won promotion to the old Division One. Yes they are on a great run but we should have enough to beat them. As sure a 2-2 draw as you are likely to get.
  9. Dammit, knew I should have burnt the place down... In a squad of journeymen, Palmer is an exotic bird who commands attention. In Rovers squad he was a nice to have who didn't have enough flair or grit to get him into the team on either count. Thank you Kasey but his departure and Brereton's signing now frees up two loan slots which could make this an interesting window.
  10. Frankly, turning up next Tuesday is mission critical for Rovers supporters. Good attendance = case proven on pricing Bad attendance = why should Venky's keep supporting losses when Blackburn folk can't even support the club for a tenner? Stuff the transfer budget.
  11. It is a rallying call and no reason at all why there shouldn't be 20,000 on. No excuses seeing as the club is doing exactly what everyone on here has urged them too. In fact, if there aren't 20,000+ at Ewood then everything everyone including me has been arguing for to boost gates will be proven totally wrong.
  12. In fact now I'd be terrified if we make it to the FA Cup Final as I have promised myself to see Rovers lift the real cup before I die ever since I we got relegated in 1966.
  13. Completely agree- they are a level up on Newcastle. Let's put it this was, if it is Newcastle v Watford in round 4, it is one of your banker away wins.
  14. We got over 26,000 for Oxford who brought 1,200 with them. Beats me why we shouldn't get 20,000 for Newcastle on the same pricing structure.
  15. The scouting network was eviscerated before Mowbray arrived and is now being rebuilt. Having a good network is a euphemism for corrupt relationships with agents- glad Mowbray hasn't.
  16. It was four but one has now finished... Brereton can be seen as part of this long term planning. Just hope he comes good for his own sake, for Rovers' sake and for proving the wisdom of strategically planning the squad upgrading.
  17. My problem with Armstrong is not with his pace which is electric but on four occasions I have seen this season his pace has taken him with ball under control into positions to go it alone for either getting a penalty or making a strike on goal. But something goes wrong in his head and he slows down and checks back.
  18. You have not being paying attention have you? This three window strategy has been reported from the club.
  19. The replay is the perfect opportunity to do another Oxford £10 with the added bonus of reciprocating Newcastle's pricing. With only four replays and the only one with a Premier League club travelling, it is certain to be televised so pricing promotion is essential. I would go further AND If the winner has a fourth round home tie after tonight's draw - link buying for the replay to an electronic voucher for a discount if we get into Round 4 (if we get opposition likely to bring fans in numbers, we can legitimately charge £20 or £30 but the replay discount would reduce prices for our fans paying £10 at the replay to £10 again for Round 4; obviously we couldn't do this if we get the dingles at home) AND I would have a limited time remainder of the season ticket offer for people going to the replay.
  20. £20m budget this January??? Sure in our dreams if we are challenging for promotion or struggling to avoid relegation. But January is not the window for splurging. Let's go back to reality- there is a three window strategic transfer plan which Mowbray and Waggott are working to. There is nothing about being 15th and 12 points above the drop which would convince anyone to change that strategy. The three window budget MIGHT be £20m fees plus WAGES. I expect the strategy for this window is: - Defensive strengthening signing - an increase in loan players by a net one (Palmer might be genuinely ill but he genuinely isn't cup tied for going elsewhere on loan) - loan players with option to buy if we can swing such deals (lack of visible action suggests there are tricky negotiations happening) - opportunistic signing of Reed permanently if we can
  21. I believe that is right. We are usually number 5 when done alphabetically. I know I predicted 14 v 10 but 14 v 6 would be a hoot. Back to the third round and I am as much a traditionalist as anyone but essentially breaking the 32 ties into four groups of 8 has been a fantastic success and has massively increased interest in following the ties. Previously with 32 kicking off at the same time, more than half got completely ignored.
