Rovers V Norwich 22/12/18

Great contribution by the Norwich fan in the Roverseas preview. Best opponent's supporter I have heard this season. https://blackburnroverseas.com/category/match-previews/ -

From a Norwich perspective, if they are going up, this should be a no nonsense regulation win. I looked at their squad before the season started and thought "close but no cigar". I obviously reckoned without Farke doing what he has done. Big marker game for Mowbray this one. -

Grant Hanley who has just signed a 5 year deal, is their skipper and the only ex-Rover certain to start is lately of these parts. Norwich have scraped a few wins recently. Villa, Forrest, Millwall, Rotherham, Bolton are all games they have come back to win from losing positions since mid-October and they scrambled a very late draw at Ashton Gate last week. Could be a good moment for their fortune to run out if Rovers take charge and close them out. However, everybody but everybody will expect a Canary 89th minute equaliser and 95th minute winner... and so do I if I am really really honest. -
Champions League 2018-2019

Three of the four English club ties look tasty and could go either way. City should have too much for Schalke. Atletico v Juve probably pick of the round. Porto v Roma will provide the team everyone wants in the last eight. -
Brereton hardly touched the ball in his 26 minutes yesterday. Very concerning. Then I realise how rarely Graham ouches it- our passing at the top end of the pich is pretty poor.

Very rare for any club to go for a wholesale rebuild in January. Surely we should be looking at players who will make a difference turning draws into wins? I am concerned our only two Premier League class players- Dack and Reed- could both leave. We will look extremely ordinary without them.

Technical problem on the messageboard as well as in Rovers back line yesterday? Well stupid me had just thought "this is our first rouine win this season"... Agree 100% with EiT on the Raya penalty incident. -

Other Football League 2018/19

Accy and Fleetwood both mid table and going backwards. Could be in deep trouble by season end if any of the surprise teams in the bottom four revive. -
Something to watch for this window is the use of loanees. We are in a much stronger position in the loans market than we were as a newly promoted side in the summer. As solid mid table at worst, we can demand players who are much closer to being Premier League ready and talk much more meaningfully to the likes of City and particularly United where Mourinho has a love or hate relationship with players. For instance (and I am not advocating going for him) Fred had a stinker in Valencia and must be close to getting shipped out. Wouldn't be surprised to see Palmer go back and one or two much better players come in on loan. I wouldn't be surprised to see us get reasonable results in the coming five fixtures against clubs above us but slip five places because we are drawing/ losing narrowly. Then use loanees who can turn draws against clubs around and below us into wins for a steady upwards move in the table during the second half of the season. Sticking to my prediction of finishing 7th.

There isn't the space because the University is too close on the other side.

All squads in his division need a Corry Evans. We have got the real thing and it is over to Mowbray to get the best out of him. A player who will feature less as the squad is improved so over to him to prove me wrong.

I admit I supported Lowe longer than most but am now glad his passing is at Notlob. -

Don't underestimate Mowbray playing mind games with his comments. He has asked for patience then sent a team out on the front foot from the kick off. Perversely looking forward to this one. Both managers amongst the best at assessing the opposition. Both clubs arguably in higher positions than their first XIs merit. Could be a classic for football technicians if not for the up and at them punter. -

Gordon Taylor signed for us from Brum. -
Depends on the questions asked. I would want to know what could tempt fans back with a multiple answers allowed tick box.
