  1. Everybody is missing the wood for the trees. There is plenty of evidence from Pune that the owners would not have spent the £7m on Rovers in any other way. So people playing championship manager signing half a team with £7m instead of Brereton are missing the point- it was Brereton or nowt. Personally I am glad he is here and while nothing is certain in football there is a much better than 50% chance he will be worth £7m as a 22 year old. If he comes as good as some videos and opposition fans suggest, that goes to £20m+. If he loses it mentally under the £7m tag then his value drops. Let's look forwards to him blossoming here and hope he seizes his chances when they come. Remember MGP hardly got a single full game for almost a season after joining us.
  2. Best wishes to Lieutweiler (guessed the spelling). Great to see him get a chance but in sad circumstances. Will be massive if he keeps a clean sheet. QPR will probably have the better players on the pitch given our injury problems but this is really a battle of two very good highly experienced technical managers. Which dug out out-psyches the other? QPR have risen on the back of winning, not drawing games but my best guess is this one will be 1-1. I reckon the probabilities are home win 20%, draw 50%, away win 30%. Very different if we had been at full strength but despite our new strength in depth this season, we are not likely to be anywhere near as strong as we could be. Unless of course Mowbray has tricked us all and we are in for a treat...
  3. QPR and Brum W4 D1 L0 are the two form teams of the division...
  4. Had time to think more about yesterday's game and the more I think about it the worse the referee's performance gets. There is no doubt the ref is the single factor separating Rovers from three points yesterday. Strange place the Hawthorns as I remember Chris Price getting upended for the most blatant of clear view penalties and it not given. Well there were two more yesterday afternoon. Yes to the non-footballing outsider the selection again looked a bit odd. This messageboard is totally unanimous on: - Mowbray works extremely hard and diligently prepares for every game carefully studying he opposition - Mowbray thinks a huge amount about the game - Mowbray has installed the best team spirit at Rovers since, I don't know- Dalglish? Perhaps he over thinks and when his picks/formations don't work we indulge in the one thing Blackburn folk are world class at- self-pitying moaning. But we have picked up wins where Mowbray thinking outside the box has resulted in selection surprises that have totally bamboozled opposition players and management. Certainly gone are the days of Plan A being totally obvious to all opposition managers who care to look at Rovers and there being no Plan B. Reed is a phenomenal revelation of a player and get Rothwell's composure right and Rodwell's fitness up to scratch and in the current squad we alteady have the core of a promotion winning team. Definitely two points dropped yesterday based on the first 75 minutes but what total heroics for 22 minutes after Raya's injury. Huge contrast with the 3-0 defeat under Kean last time we were at WBA- a match which watching from the stands looked very obviously fixed against us.
  5. Brilliant battling point for Rovers in the circumstances. Ref off the scale woeful.
  6. I am in the "we would have gone up under Mowbray with that squad" mob. (Rovers hat emoji which seems to have disappeared)
  7. Mowbray's post match comments left no room for doubt that it is a fixed and done deal for Ben to become a permanent Rover "at a big fee for us".
  8. Hang on guys, of course I believe Chorley won. Just typical of the appalling drift in BBC standards that they failed to get any scores from the FA Cup until hours after final whistles and they got that one wrong. At least we are not waiting for the first round draw whenever it is made...
  9. Upper body strengthening needed. Also wonder if he is a mood player from what people from other clubs are saying (I didn't say moody). Get one run on the opposition, confidence rises and he can skin everybody?
  10. We dare to travel in hope. Yes Swansea can certainly beat us Swansea dropping last season was a bit of a surprise so they will have something about them. But we know Mowbray will have done his homework, he will set up his team to nullify them and optimise our chances of returning with at least a point.
  11. Looking at midweek fixtures, most are top v bottom so could slip a few places with our visit to Swansea.
  12. BBC reporting the Chorley-Barrow game as a 2-2 result.
  13. Horrible late goal against us just before half time again but thought we closed out the second half more professionally than we have been doing this season. Striking stat in the Derby win v Blades. Derby haven't conceded any goals in the last 15 minutes of any game this season. If Rovers had managed that, we'd be in the top 2.
  14. Outstanding today. Leeds had nobody at the back with anything like his composure and assuredness.
  15. Well Leeds are not frightening (except their defence for their own supporters). Fourth or fifth best side we have played so far if that. Brereton showed maturity when he came on- there is promise there if supporters give him time. Very good win for Rovers- onwards and upwards.
  16. I am no expert beyond telling you works in China.
  17. VPN Express free for first 30 days. Then about £50 for a year. Beats the Great Firewall. You chose where you are in the world. Los Angeles 3 particularly good.
  18. I miss seeing football of that quality at Ewood. I think that 3-4 first half scoreline is still a Premier League record for goals scored- should have been 5-4 with those penalties.
  19. Yes. 10 goals, 6 assists so far this season- 3 goals in the last 5 games- but not yet dominating the way he can.
