  1. Agree with every word of this post. From the TV screen the pitch looked an absolute disgrace. I have noticed Rovers tend to underhit passes as a rule because I guess we are good enough to rescue interceptions but on that midden of a surface, what quality we have was totally negated by balls bobbling all over the place. Adequate excuse for Dack not being at the races and Travis not as outstanding (except for his role in the goals) but not for Bell who somehow got through the evening with plenty of spills but didn't drop the whole tea service. Makes Arma's composure for his goal even more outstanding. Great thing about Nuttall was he gambled and got in where it hurts for the first goal. One of the reasons we score so few from open play is we are bad at gambling getting into the six yard box but Nuttall did that yesterday. Nyambe undoubtedly improved the side. I was expecting him to use his pace but he sat deep and held the line solidly. Bennett moving further forward was playing him to his strength and he made runs and challenges which show why he is such a favourite.
  2. Probably telling Bradley he is not as fit as he should be after a surfeit of Coca Cola and Pringles.
  3. It was Mulgrew £3m that ?for me. Get Dack properly fit and he is easily worth that.
  4. I think Sheffield United have shown the way forward of how to play a back three using ex-Rover Jack O'Connell. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that well-managed, Rovers have an absolute gem on our hands in Rodwell. Extend his contract please.
  5. Two other take aways. 1) Millwall are reasonably OK for surviving this season but were rubbish. They dragged us down to their level for 85 minutes. 2) To get relegated now, we probably need to average under 0.5 points per game for the rest of the season. Reading are currently on target to get 39 points, Bolton 37 points (our current total) and Ipswich 30 points.
  6. Rodwell showed class on a number of occasions yesterday- we all know he has that. What marked yesterday's game was he played a full match without any howlers. If he keeps this up he should surely be coming through as a first team regular. With him, Travis and Dack we will have something beginning to look like a Premier League quality spine.
  7. However, no masking the fact that, IMV, as a footballing unit , were pretty good v Norwich, Leeds and Sheffield United for 85 minutes each. With regards to other posts above, I wasn't there and watched it on ifollow (on my Mac for a change) and only when Millwall were awarded their two corners did I have any anxiety about them scoring- only because they have 7 ft 10 in (or whatever they are) defenders.
  8. Rovers now have played both games against three of the top four which means on the teams around us have somewhat tougher games to come on paper. Three clubs have zoomed up the table with runs of five or more wins- QPR, Brum and now Hull who are the third of our three home games coming up on the trot. Hopefully, we can get a run of successive wins going ourselves now. Very often runs get going after grinding out the sort of win we have got at Millwall this evening.
  9. And they lost..
  10. Wonderful 3 points. Excellently worked two goals, particularly Armstrong's which took some scoring from where he received it but his composure was excellent. Fantastic 5 minutes. Millwall are not a good side- thankfully- we would have got smacked today if they were half decent. Happy Happy!
  11. That is the worst half of football I have seen in a long while. Bell error after error. Pitch as smooth as my unshaved face. Dack looking a bit heavy and half a yard short of what he normally has. Nuttall bright to start with then sucked into mediocrity. Travis doing Ok, Rodwell also. Iffy moments from Lenihan and Raya but thankfully Millwall no great shakes. And that is the key point. Millwall are no great shakes and a bit more of an attacking threat could win this. I'd be tempted to get Nyambe on push Bennett forward.
  12. Downing travelled but has fallen ill apparently
  13. Crikey 25 years at the New Den. Time flies.
  14. Let's see the team spirit at work because that defence is going to need it.
  15. So that's how they knew how to score two goals in injury time against us.
  16. Belokon is likely to become a "star" for his BIB banking in the forthcoming productions of "Donald duck- dodgy dough" and "Drat Den Danske"
  17. Spoke too soon, Karanka has resigned.
  18. Seems to be falling outs not league position-related. He has survived today so I guess they are keeping him.
  19. Is Marshall at least as good as he was when he was here? Not from the bits I have seen.
  20. Apparently Karanka on point of being dismissed at Forest because of disagreements.
  21. At least one in game we start completely dominant taking the game to the opposition. Wouldn't be surprised if we come out tomorrow like we did at Stoke.
  22. Never forget after we beat them 4-1 at the old Den last game of the season, Millwall fans streaming onto pitch towards the Rovers pen and stopping before the fence to applaud us. Well they had just won promotion to the old Division One. Yes they are on a great run but we should have enough to beat them. As sure a 2-2 draw as you are likely to get.
  23. Dammit, knew I should have burnt the place down... In a squad of journeymen, Palmer is an exotic bird who commands attention. In Rovers squad he was a nice to have who didn't have enough flair or grit to get him into the team on either count. Thank you Kasey but his departure and Brereton's signing now frees up two loan slots which could make this an interesting window.
