Derby vs Rovers post match thread
philipl replied to J*B's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Watched it in the wee small hours here in China. Lenihan was immense in my view. Looks like the long winning runs of last season are going to be long drawing runs this season... We need to be extremely clinical taking the chances we make. By the way, Armstrong was a penalty bu had it been given, I bet we'd have reached half time 3-1 down... Grateful for the point and looking forward to the next game. -
For the first time in several years, it is debatable which team between us has the better future today. The next three games are critical for the dingles. Another three performances like that at Wolves and the likelihood of relegation will already be over 90%. They need a scrappy win from somewhere or at least three performances which suggest they can get back to last season's level of effort and commitment. They had a number of flukey results last year they were always unlikely to repeat this time around but I felt par for their squad was much more likely to be 15th without too much relegation alarm rather than 20th and dropping like a stone.

Far too early to be reaching conclusions even if he had either scored a hat trick or lobbed Raya for an og and kneed the ref in frustration. Given the leap to judgement so common in Rovers fans, he's making a steady start so far.

Derby County vs Rovers, Tues 18th Sept
philipl replied to Mike E's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
That tackle by Killer permanently damaged Davison and was never the same player again. Surprised nobody mentioning THE play off semi finals. To Tuesday. Derby are great if you let them get at you but play tough and high tempo against them and they struggle. We have played that way this season so let's see if we can go again. Cannot make a prediction but the fact I think we have a chance of winning it speaks volumes about what Mowbray is achieving with the lads. -

Very thin crowd. -
Woohee, we are leading 1-0. Dack scored.

If like me you wondered what the heck happened to sports coverage on Twitter and Rovers matches in particular, the rapacious fascist supporting fools aka Jack Dorsey changed the algorithm so tweets no longer appear chronologically. Apart from this change totally screwing all the poor folk in the States about to be flattened by Hurricane Florence, it also totally destroys live sports coverage and banter. BUT, you can get: Your Twitter timeline in true chronological order—without retweets, liked tweets, or any algorithm nonsense. Remember this url: http://REALTWITTER.COM (click "latest" on mobile)

Last time I spent bar crawling time in Hong Kong was 1987! Always been business ever since. Sorry I can't help with current information. -

Was going to be in HK Saturday but schedule shifted to Nanjing -
Hopefully got the penalty miss out of his system! He will have to be good to oust Mulgrew from spot taking duties.

Asking for trouble from certain quarters but from what I have seen of him, Ryan has all the makings of a Premier League defender. -
Bolton's situation is defying gravity. We are somewhat insulated by geography from a similar fate.

Rovers v Villa - 15th September 2018

Great preview. Hopefully the two weeks will have done wonders for recuperation. Too early for Davenport to be on the bench? Fancy us to shade this 3-2 if Dack is back. -
Scotland might not be the only home nation getting marmalised this weekend..

Anyone know how Samuel is doing?

An Assessment of Player performance v Bristol City

Brought myself to watch the highlights. We really should have gone in ahead at half time but the second half defending was woeful. Bell for 2-1, oh dear Raya letting in 3-1 but everyone in front of him before the strike and EVERYBODY for the 4th- that was just embarrassing. Bristol City are useful but not 4-1 good. Hopefully gathered all our horrible moments into just one game.... -

Aston Villa as it happens... -
If what has been said in Court is honest and heartfelt, Bradley has now faced up to himself, his parents and the club and will complete his extended community service. He faced the very real prospect of jail and has been given a last chance. Mowbray seems to have said the right things well before the Court in support of Dack. If anything this should bring him and the club closer together. I hope he completes his service within the prescribed time or we will be missing him from the Rovers starting line-up because of incarceration rather than injury.

Garner went to jail for far less. Dadley Brack is a lucky boy irrespective of middle finger photoed in the act. The club has stood by him beyond ordinary loyalty.

An Assessment of Player performance v Bristol City

Very interesting ratings- suggests Bristol City did some superb things in the second half rather than us falling apart. -
I do, spellchecker autocorrect doesn't unfortunately. OK you are not going to man up and apologise when I suggested there was a risk we could get beaten by a few. In fact I have called every game correctly this season- Ipswich draw, Millwall draw, Hull win, Reading draw, Brentford win, Bristol City defeat. For what its worth I think we will shade a win against Villa...
