Very important the fans don't create too much pressure. We all know how important this signing is but he might take time to come good. Really delighted we have got Ben. Hope he really enjoys his football with Rovers.

The best starting eleven is the one that wins promotion. -
Who is his agent?

Lincoln have been something of a bogey club before I was born.... -
I am very excited by the Brereton signing. Should be an ok Championship striker at worst and gives us serious competition for striker places. Potential campaign changer at best.
-
Welcome to Reed. Another good signing strengthening our options.
-
So have we nabbed Brereton? Sorry between flights so can't read 30 pages of wit and wisdom.

Absolutely delighted to see this in the Sun which means it has no substance whatsoever. There is an anti-Rovers thing going at present in certain quarters. Yes Dack is immense. Probably being romantically starry eyed but got a hunch Mowbray has been given the greenlight to build a Premier League promotion winning squad around Bradley over the next two seasons which is why certain people are trying to kill this in the bud. Dack is critical in having quality way beyond what is normally needed for a promotion push.

Yes would be excellent to get a Cup run going. tougher than Carlisle so agreeing with the 3-1 forecast after a few alarma. -
Burnley pub renamed after Sean Dyche
philipl replied to Rogerb's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
This pub named after Dyche, is it called "The Relegation"? -
Let's see but if Mowbray does a comprehensive resurrection job, we have got ourselves a top quality Premier League player for what passes these days as nowt

No idea. Better ask spellchecker.

Finished meetings in Naming at 2 in the morning and sufficiently disoriented to be surprised by receiving the final score when the mobile eventually connected to VPN. Not surprised by the result - I had a good feeling about this one as I posted after the Reading game. BUT all but dropped my phone when I saw the starting XI. I mean we wouldn't have expected that lot to win a League 1 fixture last season. This could be a very interesting season. A VERY interesting season if we secure the target signings next week.

Rovers average gate nine years ago was 26,200. As I say it is only sensible if you are personally volunteering not to go to large attended games yourself. Otherwise it is the height of hypocrisy.
-
Roswell has to depose one of Mulgrove and Lenihan to get a starting place. If he gets back to anything like his prime, he is the only player good enough to do that available in this loan widow. Makes this signing a one way upside bet.

So you would happily volunteer not to have gone to the Oxford game three months ago? You win the prize for the daftest post on this thread...

All set up to watch this but fell asleep and missed it. Well there is a seven hours time difference. Not only Rovers stepped up but I had been reaching a point of despair about our message board. Comments have been a quantum leap better to read on this game. Thanks to all!

So I am sitting in my bed in China and my VPN is miraculously working offering a choice between LA and Tokyo. Any suggestions?

Chill folks. Numerous times I have set my aspirations knowing they depend on several other parties and missed self set deadlines. The keys are: - tenacity and patience - knowing when you have a lucky break and being able to take advantage of it - being able to reassess situations as they happen dispassionately and not making yourself hostage to past positions Easier said than done. No doubt Nixon has made Rovers job at least 50% harder than it should have been. Mowbray would not have said what he did about a leak if it weren't seriously harming us. Whether we land four targets or zero targets, I am confident we will have had a team at Ewood pulling together and doing an honest job in the best interests of Rovers and I haven't felt that way since November 2010... We are going to stay up if we sign nobody. We should scare most of this division if we land all Mowbray's targets in the next few days AND we will still have a united motivated squad and the financial fundamentals will still look better relatively speaking than they did two years ago.

Let's not forget Reading list all three very narrowly and in two cases rather unluckily. There is a sense they are going to click soon unlike Hull who are a rather poor side. This is a game I will just be hugely relieved if we get three points from. Don't get me wrong, I am beginning to be very optimistic about Rovers this season but this is a division where, with only one or two exceptions, any club can beat any other club on a decent day. We are not going to go through this season like the knife through butter after the Wimbledon game last year. We are going to have unexpected reverses even if we have a great first year back and I have a bad feeling about tonight.

Well hello from China. Ploughed my way through the last six pages and you lot are as wet and miserable as the weather in Jinan today. It rained so heavily all the manhole covers were lifted by the force of water in the city centre.. Back to the loans window, if we don't get Brereton, I can always read Stuart's posts by way of consolation. On a serious point, Rovers kept the Armstrong, Davenport and Rothwell deals pretty quiet until close to signings. So I am concerned when Mowbray mutters about sabotage and see Nixon (pal of Jerome) listing our targets and blabbing mega chicken. All has a nasty taste and I am not talking Venky burger. Hope Freeman doesn't have too sore a neck watching those seven fly in behind him at the Hawthorns. Baggies might have done us a favour.
