  1. Well it appears there are four truly awful sides in this division so we have a 25% chance of not going down.
  2. So we put a good little run together, got lucky with one dire performance, got beaten by PNE in a slightly less dire performance and we have ended up ahead of a relegation slot by a goal difference of 4 with a midweek trip to the Division's in form team to look forward to.... And a scrap against a Neil Warnock team after we totally messed about with Warnock this summer is only going to end one way. So apart from Rotherham, who are we going to finish ahead of? Answers on a post card to dodgy bookies, Pune... Coyle's League 1 bonuses looking pretty secure.
  3. For the first time this season, I feel we can escape the drop. However, it is a huge difference between that feeling and actually doing it- there will be false dawns and real troughs.
  4. I am afraid this spells out the trouble we are in. The footballing mismanagement of yesterday's game totally beggars belief. I keep saying this- there is no explanation of anything on or off the field that is both rational and legal.
  5. Yes that's right, he arrived in a mini with blacked-out windows.
  6. They will be giving away 2017/18 season tickets with the Elton John tickets.
  7. At least a good crowd to chant Venky's Out. Being serious, I cannot see the Raos resisting the wish to be there rubbing shoulders with Elton John. There will be loads of dark-windowed limos drawing up so the crowd will conclude the Raos are in town even if they are not.
  8. Go down Moses Sun going down will be appropriate songs to mark relegation with.
  9. Fascinating that Modou Barrow couldn't get a game for us when he was here on loan.
  10. Accy will be a division above us while the dingles will be a well-established mid-Premier League outfit like we were until we got Venky'ed.
  11. She's lovely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6rcV1ltrNo
  12. So what a rubbish night of football that was. I guess Coleman is now free to be appointed at Ewood... (only being annoying, sorry)
  13. Seems Stanley more than held their own until the 94th minute when Wimbledon had their first shot on target. Nervous night in Accy and a 0-1 deficit to overcome.
  14. Gutting for Stanley. Bristol Rovers scoring in added time to knock them out of an automatic promotion slot. Would fancy them against Wimbledon but they will be swamped by opposition support at Wembley whichever of Pompey and Plymouth win through the other semi-final. Got to be long shot outsiders for promotion now.
  15. Have to regard this as the one and only chance for Accy- got to go for it!
  16. Just need to avoid screwing up against Stevenage and they are there!
  17. This is a little sad of me but it suddenly struck me that if Accy get promoted, the Accy-Bolton game will set a world record gap between competitive fixtures. The last previous meeting was in the 1892/3 season... A little matter of waiting 118 years for settling a local rivalry.
  18. Probably need three wins as both Oxford and Bristol Rovers are capable of getting three wins from their remaining games.
  19. Accy in 3rd automatic promotion slot...
  20. MK Dons lost so they are still 9 points behind us with just 7 games to play.
  21. With Fulham playing MK Dons, the worse that can happen is we will only be one point closer to the drop zone. PNE on the other hand are just 6 points off the play-offs. Surely not???
  22. Stanley won at Newport 2-0. Fourth and one point from third. More importantly, 11 points clear of 8th with just 7 games to go so play-offs look reasonably assured.
  23. Careful, folks in Accrington will be thinking they have entered the twentieth century next ._.._ _..
  24. Just as there were too many clubs between us and the playoffs for one (Sheff Weds as it turned out) not to go on a good run, there are now too many clubs between us and 24th for one worse off than us not to go on a bad run. With eight games remaining, there are enough bad sides in this division for us to pick up the six or seven points to be absolutely safe even if we go back to playing like dogs. Let's be relieved Bowyer was sacked as we can all see games Lambert got points from which GB most certainly wouldn't have done. We would be in a squeaky bottom relegation fight now if that change hadn't been made. That said won 11, drawn 13, lost 14 (including the ignominy of a dingle double) is one seriously rubbish season.
