  1. Yes. Look how we got to near safety and blew up last season too. The Raos are either the biggest cretins who ever walked God's earth or you look at some of the people who they socialise with.
  2. Devastated by this news. Kelvin and I corresponded at length by email and messenger and although I never met him face-to-face, he was clearly one of football's very good guys. He was incredibly well connected within the game but he was never one to parade the people whom he knew well to friends or on the message board. He was so passionate about the game and it is fair to say he was one of life's givers- always giving back with advice and coaching and knowledge. In a game with so many "bad guys" tainting it, it is tragic to lose someone like Kelvin. My heart goes out to Kelvin's family and friends at this very difficult time. He will be enormously missed.
  3. I first met Mark Wastell at QEGS and then knew him on and off over the past 32 years in the London branch. Very sad that he has passed away and will miss his inimitable humour.
  4. I can vouch that it is absolutely fantastic (and very filling!)
  5. Very sad news- condolences to all his family and loved ones. That win at St Andrews was especially sweet.
  6. Went to the Strickland Arms where the food was extremely reasonably priced and fine with thick cut home made chips and the King's Head at Hale which was also very good and homely. Can certainly recommend Hawkshead Tup as a very fine pint of beer. Stayed at the Heaves Hotel. A bit old but excellent value for bed and breakfast and the evening meal was very good.
  7. Sad news. I understand Fred had been very unwell for quite some time and this had a bearing for those asking why the Trust or family had not acted.
  8. Going to be in the Kendal area- any good tips?
  9. Of course nothing from the club but here is a Google translate of an article in a major Danish newspaper tonight: It caused surprise when John 'Faxe' Jensen got kicked in England Blackburn Rovers. Too good enough, Premier League club while disappointed, but it is rare that it's assistant - and not the manager - who pays the price for failure. But Steve Kean is still in office in Blackburn, who as recently as Saturday ran into yet another defeat against Stoke, while 'Faxe' is the past at Ewood Park. And according to TV channel 6's, then hang the thing together. Saturday brought the channel broadcast a report showing it from many sides alleged that Kean sacrificed the Dane to save his own skin. - When a manager has been under pressure as Kean has been in a prolonged period, so goes the Board normally and firing the manager - not the assistant, says BBC journalist Andy Bayes, who is surprised that John Faxe 'Jensen was wearing responsible for Blackburn's problems. Under 6s Steve Kean went so far in 'assassination' on his assistant that he wrote an email to the board, which he criticized John 'Faxe' Jensen to blame for the players' bad shape because of faulty training methods, just as he allegedly accused 'Faxe' for not following his instructions.
  10. The big threat is most likely to come from Germany IMO. La Liga is the SPL on steroids and Italian football probably has too many issues.
  11. Waste of money- he will be paid off within a few weeks with the inevitable firing of Kean.
  12. Add a Finance Director, two non-exec directors and a PA who left and has been begged back again.
  13. I have written this before and I will say it again. Steve Kean is the worst employee Blackburn Rovers have had in the club's 136 year history. Ever so typical that he gets Jensen fired when he himself should be gone. Anyway the SEM/Anderson effluence continues to reduce.
  14. Many thanks to Kamy for introducing me to Kebabish Original- absolutely outstanding food superbly prepared.
  15. Sadly no- have commitments elsewhere but I am active bhind the scenes for it

  16. I have seen some amazing base juming stuff but this is the most astonishing yet!
  17. Very happy memories of the Three Chimneys on Skye
  18. Let me have your email address.

  19. Hello jumpin,

If this could be arranged, I would meet the full cost.

    Many thanks,

    Philip

  20. When you look at the conveyor belt of superb talent coming through, the future of football looks very favorable for the Bundesliga and the German national team.
