  1. All three results equal odds in my book. Likelihood of ending 11 v 11 not very high. Based on recent results for both sides, this could well be high scoring. People saying Wahlstedt is lacking in confidence have him wrong. He just makes wrong decisions when the ball is in the air...
  2. I watched Rovers TV in the first half and when the signal froze a Sky feed in the second half. The commentaries couldn't have been more different. Tronstad ran the first half and disappeared in the second but actually had the same involvement in both halves! It was also very clear the Sky boys have totally written Wahlstedt off as a useless flapper of a keeper. I think that is on the unfair side but he has to ally his positional sense to making the ball stick. ageoftherover contribution above is very much how I saw the game too.
  3. Did Waggott give any indication of what happens if this situation continues? If they cannot fund us which after five months of worsening news and no sign of resolution, at some point there has to be a firesale. Will that be of assets or of all of the club?
  4. Two worst defenses matched up. 0-0 draw That young winger Norwich has is very useful. Have to keep him quiet.
  5. Not on the slomo playback- Trav gets the ball so corner was a correct call
  6. According to an Everton mate, the dingles knocked it around nicely without threatening then got completely outclassed and ended up looking a total shambles last night. He called it a performance that loses a Manager his job...
  7. The wages were paid so it is academic for the next 30 days.
  8. VAR would have given both penalties. Gallagher arm was outstretched (unnatural) and in the slow mo replay he slaps the ball with his hand. I watched a Russian feed and they replayed the incident four times in play during the first half. In the second half, Cucarella shoves the Rovers player to make him miss his header. I had the Chelsea feed second half and the incident looked iffy in real time. It got replayed from a different angle a couple of minutes later and the Chelsea commentator just said "oh"... It was absolutely blatant.
  9. Notwithstanding Chelsea's 8 injuries, Pochetino put out a seriously strong side last night and there was a clear gulf in class between the two sides. Not entirely surprising considering the Chelsea squad has cost north of a billion and Rovers under 10 million- a mere 100 to 1 ratio. Our starting team last night had cost 2.5 million. That said, the difference on the football pitch was two gifted goals, two penalty decisions not given and Rovers not taking our chances when we made them. Could have been a very interesting night without those two mistakes- much as I like Wahlstedt, palming the ball to the Chelsea defender at the corner was a horror error and his premature release of the ball put Brittain into a nightmare situation which Callum should have gone Row Z with.
  10. Marseille v Lyon called off after Lyon coaches and team bus attacked. Lyon boss Grosso and assistant stretchered out with facial injuries
  11. They bought Rovers because of Balaji's relationship with Jerome Anderson and the other family members accepted the pitch without doing enough homework. A business that size which is serious about global reach wouldn't be so zero committed
  12. The great thing about Hill playing where he is, we can go 3 at the back without subbing anyone. He gives us another tall.player in a league where oppositions tiurn up with several.players well over 6ft and in Cardiff case sub off two big lads and bring on two even bigger lumps. Plus his long throws add basic variety to our more sophisticated play.
  13. He has not looked right since the international break. He hasn't done so well at the levels he has without being much better than his last two early subbed showings.
  14. Millwall away last season was a big match but last night was a BIG RESULT. Has that feeling of a game that makes a season. Not only came back to win but I doubt Millwall will put in many better performances than that second half- two ten minute spells of relentless in our half pressure yet we held out resolutely and apart from a couple of near misses, we managed their goal threat superbly. Wahlstedt managed to get his knee where his elbow should have been for their goal but he was still confident and in control for the remaining 88 minutes. So good to see Scott Wharton back to the form we know he is capable of. Adam Wharton actually strengthened us defensively in midfield when he came on. We now have a fantastic central midfield quartet to select from even without Buckley. JDT having the sort of selection choices we all want him to have. Shame Sigurdsson is only half the player he was before the international break but otherwise all the players were magnificent.
  15. Swansea are playing totally differently from the Russell Martin pass pass pass. They are direct, break quickly, press high and usually shoot hard and accurately on sight. They are vulnerable at the back and defend surprisingly narrowly preferring to pack their box. Let's hear what the injury situation is but I would expect the eleven who started the second half to start this game- Moran was moving freely when he joined the lads for the post match plaudits in front of the fans last night.
  16. 16 different scorers now this season but if Brittain is to be pushed forward, breaking his duck maybe one of the most important
  17. Wouldn't bet against a sale and loan back for Adam Wharton and some crumbs allotted for the new Talalovic..
  18. Fans must be happy and silently praying it continues.. Or haven't realised midweek falls on a Tuesday.
  19. Guess which former CL regular club got bought for a mind bending 800m last year by a totally clueless new Owner. Hint their fans are envious of neighbours Clermont Forande. PS hadn't realised Nice are going so well- that was a fantastic result from our under 21s a couple of weeks ago.
  20. Not all 9 can get on. Adam Wharton and Trav in their own ways are as good as at least 90% of Championship midfielders. Garrett and Markanday are a lot better than most Rovers supporters give them credit for. Gamble and Atcheson are there to get minutes had Rovers gone three ahead. We were without Pears, Moran, Hedges, Leonard and Gallagher from the senior squad plus at least half a dozen youngsters who should now be first team squad are injured.
  21. Evertonians would offer you the name of their coach... I believe restrictions on Saudi women attending have been lifted unlike in Iran where only visiting female supporters are allowed. My wife was one of only 30 women in a crowd of 80,000 for a World Cup qualifier in Tehran...
  22. When you have billionaire owners and you are doing a deal like this, the tires are coming completely off the wheels. At the very least, it signals there is zero confidence of any funds arriving from India in the near future. This is literally a promotion or bust season and I have seen enough to know promotion is possible with the current squad, coaching and a smidgen of long overdue good fortune. I have every confidence in GB and JDT but close to none in SWAG.
