  1. Probably get 696 to watch the Ewood grass grow.
  2. Young had kicked the ball away a couple of minutes before the second foul so he had had his lucky break not getting a second yellow.
  3. Totally agree with this. Playing wise, Rovers are in a good place now being able to put on such a solid display with the current unavailabilities. Keeper apart, this is not a bad bench to have and good to see Gamble and Atcheson asa Championship game subs. 14Ennis 15Gamble 18Markanday 23A Wharton 27Travis 30Garrett 31Atcheson 33Telalovic 34Hilton
  4. Given the player availability and the way Millwall play, I doubt JDT will change the starting eleven from Saturday. I would expect changes when Swansea come on Saturday including Adam Wharton coming back in.
  5. If you are drifting into cash issues, things like the web site and phone lines going down are the controllable issues you DON'T allow to happen.
  6. First time for a long time I have listened to a footballer talking for half an hour
  7. Millwall are more mobile and dangerous than Cardiff up front but their defence this season can be got at. If Rovers play our normal game and whoever is in the makeshift forward line has their shooting boots on, we will be OK. But it will take a lot of defending from front to back to keep a clean sheet.
  8. Would Pears have saved that 80th minute shot yesterday?
  9. Didn't realise we were signing a right back but what an addition!
  10. Gone from Dingles will comfortably survive to Dingles will have a bad start but be OK to Struggling to see Dingles getting out of this to Dingles lose to Bournemouth and they are as good as down already
  11. Only 2 and a bit league games but I am really liking what I am seeing of Leo Wahlstedt. Fantastic reaction save at the end. Hill, Hyam and Pickering all did their jobs excellently but what a fantastic performance from Hayden Carter. Cardiff are a big mobile side and Carter handled them exceptionally well. Tronstad is showing everything we hoped he would be and also handled the physical pressure brilliantly mostly by being too cute to get caught. Sigurdsson looked well off the pace and Szmodics had a slow burner performance which got better and better. Brittain did well but ultimately was a right back playing out of position as was JRC who looks increasingly comfortable further forward and could/should have had a hattrick. Dolan through ball JRC scored off was an absolute peach but sadly for him and us two really sharp chances in the first half didn't threaten a goal nor did that chance with the last kick of the first half. Ennis continues to show promise.
  12. First half shots on target 0-0, second half 1-2. Our's went in, their's didn't.
  13. I like the way JDT has us playing now. Hated the crawl sideways slow passing across the back but now Rovers zip it about and it is clear the players are looking fir a player in space who can develop that space and players are giving the man on the ball far more options.
  14. Just checked and see he started for Chile but saw no other mention of him in the first half which ended with Venezuela taking the lead.
  15. Chelsea have Arsenal and Brentford at home before they play us then face Spuds, Newcastle and City. Agreed, the Carabao has to be Chelsea's best chance at silverware this season but it is anybody's guess what sort of team they put out. Hopefully our injuries are clearing up and we get no more before we play them. Our reality is we don't know what our first choice full strength first eleven is but rotating from a squad that includes Pears, Wahlstedt, Pickering, Brittain, JRC, Hall, Hyam, Carter, Wharton x2, Travis, Tronsted, Szmodics, Moran, Dolan, Markanday, Siggurdson, Gallagher, Leonard, Ennis gives us 20 players with a decent amount of first team experience here and elsewhere before looking at the likes of Batty, Garrett, Talalovic, Gilsenan. I would expect a strong Rovers even if JDT rings the changes after facing Cardiff, Millwall and Swansea in 7 days.
  16. I think this lad will really kick on this season. Needs to build his consistency but there is a really good footballer in him.
  17. A big thank you to England for an excellent night's sleep. Did Henderson make a forward pass eventually? If he did I was already in the land of nod.
  18. It was that reference to illegal payments in respect of the annual cash injection to Rovers that made me sit up. Not even an "allegedly". As far as I am aware there have been no illegalities under Indian law in transferring the cash to VLL and onto Rovers. If in India they had been accounting for these transfers in inappropriate or illegal ways, this could be a completely different matter. The Akon/ Balaji Birthday party was well known at the time but this is the first reference to any flow of funds going through the UK or any business related to Rovers, never mind it costing 3m!
  19. While we are busy rewriting history out of context, ffs hire a Polish minder put Lewandowski in a limo in Poland and drive him to the first station Big Sam can get to on Eurostar. And Jack tells his grasping ungrateful heirs to f-off and signs Zidane, Dugary and takes up Bobbie Baggio's agent's offer to sign for Rovers...
  20. Courtesy of Rovers TV I have watched 100% of every game this season including the Carabao Cup games on replay. Leicester are better than us in most respects but even they would have found us a handful had they not got the breaks at all the best psychological moments and we hadn't passed up several chances. Other than that we have lost 5 other games we could just as easily have won and have not been bettered by any other side. As pointed out above, the Championship table at this time last season below the dingles and blades bore little relationship to the table after 46 games. Ipswich probably have enough points and momentum already to make the play offs but at some point they will get rumbled and their goals start to dry up. 2nd to 6th up for grabs.
  21. Huge day yesterday for Arsenal getting the win against City and everyone else drawing. Apart from Luton at home, City have some demanding fixtures coming up.
