  1. And in 148 years, other Rovers teams have never travelled to such hapless opposition? And we made 10 changes. 10 of our's had less than 20 appearances between them. Apologise
  2. I have documented the reasons why the biggest away win in the club's history is so exceptional and uniquely down to JDT's coaching.
  3. I watched the Rovers TV recording of the game in full and what an absolute pleasure and delight. Only our corner routines not working marred the spectacle. We were relentless from start to finish. Every player won individual battles and there was enough positional sense and awareness to get two players around virtually any threat before they developed. Receiving on the half turn, turning with the ball and passing accuracy was superb throughout. Buckley masterclass in central midfield. Markanday really intelligent play on the right. In summary flawless JDT ball with the ball moving crisply all the time. Really liked how players were close or behind recipients so we didn't lose possession cheaply. All players knew where to move to so even blind passes found their man. All this AND + 5 players including keeper Leo making debuts + Moran first start + Gilsenan second appearance + Tronstad fifth appearance + Markanday seventh appearance (spread over 18 months) + Garrett I haven't counted but if he has as much as 800 first team minutes behind him, I would be amazed + Scott Wharton, Buckley and even Gally short on recent game time. To have a second eleven set up to play like a well oiled machine which can take a professional Football League team apart in those circumstances is little short of miraculous! All the goals were class and had their keeper guessed low and chip in a different order when facing one on ones at the end it would have been 10. I don't get the impression the magnitude of this achievement is registering with our fans.
  4. After Harrogate, wondering if JDT isn't the best since Kenny Dalglish.
  5. Found out about the signing completed here and not on the transfer thread! Glad we have 4 central defenders who have played senior games. Sacrilege but Hill being available as a sub is almost certainly a better option in the coming weeks than Ash would have been. Having seen Aitcheson, we have a new Phillips at least in precocious physique!
  6. The Cardiff game has been entered by Rovers in my calendar for Tuesday 26th.
  7. Whilst out for my morning swim, it suddenly struck me I haven't woken up after a Rovers 8-0 victory before. Really really nice feeling. 🤩
  8. Great draw. Good level of opponents at home for the youngsters to measure themselves against and a decent chance of progressing.
  9. Over to GB and Swag to talk their way to a bigger transfer budget. Couldn't wish for a better pre-meal game!
  10. JDT has said on Rovers TV it won't be a complete change of eleven. So I guess Brittain starts but at right back with Pickering left and one of Hyam and Carter will be alongside Scott Wharton. Leo, Morton, Gally, Buckley will be involved (=starting?)
  11. Leeds were the only "shock" of the night so chances are if we make it to Round 3, the draw could be a bit of a challenge..
  12. Rak-Sakyi one of 3 pulled off after 55 minutes. Within 6 minutes a 2 goal deficit had become 3-2 Palace and Palace eventually won 4-2
  13. Plymouth winning 1-0 and the minute by minute reads like it is a stroll. Rak-Sakyi is playing them on his own- no other Palace players getting a mention!
  14. Plymouth fielding a much weakened side v Palace tonight. Includes Wright and Wright- no initials.
  15. Reading Rovers website, it seems like Pickering is a starter too. And his comment that it will be nice to see new players could point to a couple of youngsters getting debuts although going raw youth in both central defence and right back is a huge risk. Perhaps Gamble in defence and Bloxham further forward given they were in the set up at Watford? If Dolan is being moved around, perhaps to number 10 to see if he can hack it there although I'd much prefer Gilsenan there if he is fit?
  16. Apparently Pickering got a one match ban. Hoping Gilsenan is back but apparently touch and go for him to be ready. If all goes well, hopefully an opportunity for creative use of subs and one or two to get their first team debuts. I cannot see JDT changing his match formation for this- expecting 4-2-3-1 and Rovers to press and play possession football. Harrogate Town were certainly given a chunk of help by Morecambe in getting their 2-0 home win at the week=end. Message for Rovers is not to give them the chance to recover or recycle possession in advanced positions.
  17. With a bit of luck it will be October before they get their first point. They will kick themselves for not accepting reversing that Luton fixture.
  18. Eleven changes made for Walsall. Despite injuries and a suspension, we are still looking at plenty of first team experience if JDT does an eleven man switch. Will he give Moran and Gally added game time?
  19. Expecting 11 changes to the starting XI. Will be good to see Wahlstadt. Will we see Buckley? Will we see anything? Relatively few games on Wednesday but think we are in the only tie without a PL club that night. So any chance of TV coverage?
  20. @POLITICOEurope The mother of suspended Spanish football federation President Luis Rubiales has locked herself in a church today, declaring she would go on hunger strike until the “inhumane and bloody persecution” of her son is brought to an end.
  21. Burnley have spent the tenth most of any club in the World this summer. And get this, Bournemouth are 8th. Three Al's are in the top five.
