  1. Both Southampton and Leicester very fortunate to get their wins on Saturday. The Ipswich defence seemed to be taken by surprise by the speed of thought of players who were in the PL last year as much as Leeds clicking at Portman Road.
  2. JDT has always said Hedges is an intelligent player. That keepie uppie run meant any attempt to dispossess him was a certain penalty.
  3. It is a seriously long journey so perhaps appropriate for a distant fan to start the thread. Argyle won the craziest of promotion races becoming Champions with 101 points winning 31 out of 46 games. Sheffield Wednesday missed out on automatic promotion in 3rd with 96 points- Ipswich squeezed in with 98. Watched most of two of their games- the Southampton 2-1 home defeat and their 3-1 home win over Huddersfield first game back. They are effectively direct going forward in an agricultural way, combative in midfield and a mistake waiting to happen at the back- Huddersfield missed three absolute sitters against them. Southampton pretty stuff created many fewer chances than they should have done (hint to Rovers- cut out that pass too many on the edge of the area and shoot once in a while). So a return to high press possession football for Rovers after the Hornets smash and grab. We ought to have too much (and an unavailable Ennis) for Plymouth to cope with but oughta never won a football game..
  4. I am 100% a JDT fan- absolutely the best boss for Rovers since Sparky- perhaps even better. I've called bs on the two reasons given for cash go-slow. Something has happened behind the scenes but it is stark raving bonkers not to be backing the GB/JDT team to the FFP limit this window when automatic promotion is clearly on for Rovers.
  5. Not even reading some of the comments on this thread has put a dampener on things. Still absolutely buzzing after that win. And Hedges' keepy uppy at full pace before smashing it in... Sublime
  6. What a win! So many players below par but that was so0me goal from Ryan Hedges! Wow!
  7. Far from it- best player on the pitch. Dolan sadly needs hooking.
  8. Terrible news to be taken so young.
  9. I am sure I saw Dolan playing in the Carlisle game pictures from yesterday in which case he isn't a starter tomorrow.
  10. Villa, Spurs, Man U, Chelsea their next 4 home games- all teams that are beatable but will be looking at the Turf as a must get 3 points if they have ambitions for this season. Trips to Forest, Newcastle and Brentford. They could be null points for a while irrespective of my agreeing that there are at least three worse teams than them.
  11. The gap in money between the PL and the Championship means in reality the Championship is not suffering but at one time the Saudi pro=league players would be dropping into national second tier teams.
  12. We clearly need to sort out defending the sucker lob into the attacker's inside left channel. It has cost us 5 points so far and we have only played three games.
  13. Greenwood off to the Antarctic League where the penguins don't care.. Or Turkey.
  14. Good test of the squad and JDT ball. Optimistic but not confident if that makes sense.
  15. Spain have looked good getting to the Final and have proven so in the Final. England now a very remote shot to win. PS Spain has some gorgeous looking women in that side.
  16. Phenomenal effort let down by letting Connolly run free twice. Really proud of the lads and thought we could hold on after Gallagher scored. Pears played really well.
  17. Hull not doing to us what we did to Rotherham- yet. All Championship games level at half time.
  18. I have heard a river of sewerage about professional football but nothing about bent referees since the 1970s. English clubs were victims in the European Cup back then.
  19. We know we are going to see subs tomorrow. Does Ennis get the first half or second? I guess the Batty injury means JRC at right back with Brittain on the bench as cover for both full backs. JDT will have looked closely at Hull and will pick a team to beat them so we might see a bit of a twist. That said, Rosenior has tried two different formations so far this season so despite their romp against Sheffield Wednesday their selection and tactics are a bit unpredictable particularly with the recruitment of Twine this week. Hull defense will give us chances so I suspect Ennis might start ahead of Dolan.
  20. I am expecting a much better game than last season's 0-0. Could be a bit of a classic. We ought to have enough to win it if we cut out the defensive mistakes which we have been prone to by letting in the 3 goals so far this season.
  21. I suspect not agreeing to reverse the Luton fixture will harm them. No game this weekend so will remain in the bottom 3. Games coming up Villa, Spurs both H, Forest A Man U H, Newcastle... Can see them getting stuck down there and when like that having a game in hand is not much use.
  22. A side issue but a win on Saturday will not go amiss in helping Rovers look an attractive proposition for any prospective members of the Swag 4.
