  1. I am sure whoever wrote the words "significant investment" would like to see those significant assets on the pitch. Kargbo on the left is a no brainer if Ribeiro is considered sound enough to be left with less protection than Hedges offers while isn't Dennis a number 10 rather than a right winger in which case Dolan goes wide right.
  2. Of the 11 clubs realistically chasing 2 play off places, only Watford are on a worse run of current form than us. Quite how we have come through this to be 5th is a statistical freak show. I will put QPR as the major threat. In terms of comprehensively out playing us when we actually turned up, only QPR and Sheffield United come into that category. The thrashing of Derby last night was more because QPR were excellent than Derby being rubbish.
  3. We have flogged off Szmodics and Adam Wharton. Spent bugger all and are 5th. Someone is doing a great job in player recruitment!
  4. All the teams are much of a muchness. I am just grateful for the 3 points buffer and hope it stays that way after this afternoon. I don't know the other clubs' injury situation or new signings not being fit position. We have Beck, Carter, Tronstad and Ohashi all due back before the next break plus you'd hope Kargbo and Dennis could put in 90 minutes by mid March. So that is what was arguably the backbone of the team returning plus a faster winger and a forward who was lethal at this level three years ago. On balance and ignoring the Venkys and trying not to have blue and white lenses, I would rather be us in 5th today than in the position of any of the others. By the way, I would add Preston to the list of contenders. They have a bit of bite about them and Heckinbottom has been there done that.
  5. Absolutely couldn't be clearer. Eustace is blameless This is 100% on the club and Venkys.
  6. All kinds of undesirables were floated as names to replace JDT this time last year. Keeping my head down on this one but last night's heroics should encourage some quality hats being thrown into the ring.
  7. Yes, then he looked at our final three games of the season...
  8. This one frightens me and I don't care they are in a relegation scrap. A classic Rovers let down after a superb win is on the cards unless we are on top of our game. They will be coming to Ewood absolutely certain they can win and who would blame them on their recent results. Nobody plays Liverpool first team reserves the way they did without being very useful and they gave Millwall a thrashing. OK Millwall self-destructed but Plymouth are clearly playing with a belief and confidence that everything they try can lead to a goal. I wouldn't fiddle much with last night's line up and it would seem we won't have much choice as Batth and Beck don't appear to be injuries that will be safe to risk the day after tomorrow. I'd like to see Kargbo in place of Hedges but I don't think that will happen. We are going to have to be every bit as disciplined and playing a pressure game as we did at West Brom to frustrate and deny a Plymouth side who will be more direct and carry more threat than the Baggies. At the same time, they are unlikely to go 90 minutes without offering us a gift or two in front of goal- can Geye turn poacher? Gut says we will be feeling Lowe after this one, head says if we keep our heads we should be ok but not without some hairy moments. Could be high scoring for a change- Rovers to win 3-2?
  9. The Sky commentary I heard was talking about Gueye as the complete all round centre forward and the expert summariser went into raptures at some of Gueye's close control. Points made above about him striking the ball powerfully and cleanly are well made. For a while I wondered if he had ever struck a ball cleanly in his life but now, wow! Got ourselves a 20m+ striker...
  10. Everybody played well. Gueye was sensational box to box. He is a monster. Rovers were extremely well organised and we kept a clean sheet thanks to the ref getting pissed off at Baggies antics at corners striking off an ok goal and the defence giving Pears full protection the way they did on the 6 game winning run West Brom were as ineffective as I had seen watching halves of their previous two games.
  11. The SIGNIFICANT investment in January is so SIGNIFICANT that only one of the six starts tonight and he is in because we have TWO injured left backs.
  12. We are going to get hammered looking at that body language
  13. Despite West Brom being the draw masters, this has the feel of a definite result. We are capable of beating West Brom based on their recent showings but psychology will be at play far more than usual in this game.
  14. Probably kills any hope of Big Sam being appointed
  15. This is as big a humiliation as I can remember in all my years supporting Rovers. We have lost Managers before but never before has one taken a big step down to go to another club because Rovers are such a shit heap.
  16. Whoever comes in will be a total nonentity. After the way JDT and JE both left and TM was frozen out before them, any Manager of any gumption or standing is going to want contractual commitments to conditions Pasha/Suhail will be totally unable to meet.
  17. I expect Waggott to go too.
  18. Abysmal failure The club is utterly rotten
  19. DCFC Supporters on X have just posted the Eustace to Derby deal is believed to be off because a plan has been agreed at Rovers.
  20. All quiet on the Eustace Front from all parties... Something's up. Any sightings in Derby? Apparently not as their local rag is recycling old news as of 47 minutes ago https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/derby-county-next-manager-live-9932378
  21. Woken up expecting that JE exit had been confirmed. If he stays it will be very good news not only for keeping an excellent manager but his grievances will have been addressed. Eustace's call whether he believes or trusts any assurances given. I very much doubt if the powers that be could let it get to the state a League 1 destined club became more attractive are capable of reversing the rot.
  22. If he isn't gone tonight, the club are working on a response or negotiating with a response in hand. If he isn't gone tomorrow and not spotted in or around Derby, the chances of him staying increase. If it's not settled Tuesday, he will be gone.
  23. We will know the answer to the contract situation for the players in the next 48 hours. That isn't to say performances will be dropping off if Eustace leaves as they will all be playing for the agent showreels.
  24. Anyone fancy Derby's chances of staying up at Plymouth's expense? They have just beaten Liverpool and unlike Derby, seriously strengthened in January.
