City were terrible by City standards. Still a level or two better than Manure even so. And seeing miserable United fans is a good day whenever it happens. Sorry but going head to head with Man U in the 90s does that to you...

He was dropped by the new boss (I am not referring to games he was unavailable for) either subbed off or put on subs bench and in one case unused. The killer is I thought Martin Sartres or what ever he was called didn't know how to use BBD strengths but this new guy plays a very narrow short passing game with no balls played for Ben to receive on the move.

Unfortunately, since the justifiable anger at how Rovers were destroyed 2010-12 in particular and the farce until TM arrived, about 50% of Rovers natural market has turned its face against the club. So accepting there is a limit to the number of cheap tickets we could sell, I'd offer a super cheap season ticket deal in the Riverside with a pre-offer period of priority booking to people receiving State benefits. I wouldn't touch the pricing structure anywhere else in the ground.

I don't know what the situation is with Leeds contract clauses. However, the negotiations at Leeds and Leicester would have been very different. At Leicester agents would have been negotiating hard for bonuses for Champions League, Europa League, European Conference qualifications, progression and winnings not forgetting domestic cups. The club could say the relegation clause is club policy and non-negotiable and player and agent accept it as a non-issue. At Leeds, relegation was a very live issue and agents would have been doing everything possible to keep such clauses out if deals. Leeds management folded to give those mediocre players those ridiculous monetary deals then they could have given in to demands avoiding relegation clauses too - I don't know but Leeds has been a mad house for a while now. -

Leicester certainly have relegation clauses. Are you certain Leeds have them? -

Leeds total player wage bill is reportedly in excess of 70m. I don't think it adds up unless the individual player wages are in the region of those figures. Klich had a contract expiring next season and had by mutual agreement signed for DC United in January. That 2m Leeds paid him got them 16 appearances in 22/3 including being a Carabao Cup stalwart. Leeds got lucky with Klich. Most disposals will now involve Leeds in diverting funds to pay off departing players to leave. -
Barnsley v Sheffield Wednesday is pretty dire so far.

I believe it is true but it could be his medical bill. And that table doesn't include that eminently unsellable asset Giorgino Rutter who cost a transfer fee of 36m... -

It is primarily involved in Duty Free shopping for travel and tourism and has a minority stake in Air Asia X in Thailand. There was no cash available for Leicester at the end of the pandemic because King Power revenues dropped by over 80% plunging them into huge losses. The extent of the post-Covid recovery (if any) is not yet public. Air Asia X Thailand has posted a record quarterly improvement at the end of 2022 but is still at a fraction of revenue and passengers of 2019. -

I am not completely on top of this but the Finance guys at Leeds and Leicester probably needed talking out of throwing themselves off a window ledge this morning. The rebuilding which is possible will be tiny compared with the knocking down needed first. Leicester's wages are 260% of their 2023/4 income including their parachute payment. Leicester do apparently have a 50% relegation salary cut in their contracts unlike... Good luck to Leeds getting rid of these: Players Base Salary Weekly Wages Position Contracts Illan Meslier £3.1m £65k GK 2026 Kristoffer Klaesson £1.2m £25k GK 2025 Joel Robles (new signing) £1m £21k GK 2023 Pascal Struijk £2.8m £60k DEF 2027 Robin Koch £3.6m £75k DEF 2024 Diego Llorente £3.1m £65k DEF 2026 Maximilian Wöber (new signing) £2.8m £60k DEF 2027 Liam Cooper £2.2m £45k DEF 2024 Junior Firpo £2.8m £60k DEF 2025 Leo Fuhr Hjelde £480k £10k DEF 2025 Rasmus Kristensen (new signing) £2.2m £45k DEF 2027 Cody Drameh £750k £16k DEF 2024 Luke Ayling £1m £21k DEF 2023 Stuart Dallas £816k £17k DEF 2024 Marc Roca (new signing) £2.8m £60k MID 2026 Tyler Adams (new signing) £4m £85k MID 2027 Mateusz Klich £2.64m £55k MID 2024 Adam Forshaw £800k £16.6k MID 2023 Brenden Aaronson (new signing) £4.8m £100k MID 2027 Sam Greenwood £1m £21k MID 2026 Jack Harrison £5.76m £120k MID 2024 Luis Sinisterra (new signing) £4.8m £100k MID 2027 Crysencio Summerville £1.2m £25k MID 2026 Wilfried Gnonto (new signing) £2.1m £44k SS 2027 Rodrigo £3.6m £75k FW 2024 Patrick Bamford £4m £85k FW 2026 Joe Gelhardt £1.1m £24k FW 2027 -
Wednesday or Barnsley to complete next season fixture list? Wednesday if there is any justice after that Posh come back and their regular season points haul. That said, Wednesday as currently set up look a lot more beatable as a Championship side. Barnsley look like being awkward opposition.

Yes the Premier League is over for both of those clubs. JDT has been a builder throughout his career. Don't think maximising revenue from a fire sale is the kind of project he would relish. I would be far more concerned if the likes of Brighton, Brentford, Fulham or West Ham were to have a vacancy. -
Amari Bell always looked like he'd mixed up his energy gell and sleeping tablets playing for us.

First time in history the top division in England has averaged over 40,000 attendance over all league games all season. Obviously cannot be repeated next season.

Except Bournemouth always thrash them...

My recollection is we had an option to make Bercovic permanent and the player himself really wanted it. There are enough posts to have made my point that the Tugay signing divided the fans. Here's hoping mention of Tugay and Bercovic on Niall's thread rubs magic onto his performances this year!
-
Eyal Berkovic (who was slightly younger) was released to make space for Tugay.

You don't have to go that far back. Seven games in our relegation season were, shall we say, iffy. And a Rovers player was on his own in all five top leagues in Europe that season for highest number of own goals scored- not Shane Duffy forcing a transfer by his performance at Cardiff...

You don't have to be that old to remember Luton being in what was the First Division and winning silverware. In fact Luton voted for the formation of the Premier League so it isn't that long ago. Prior to that the previous time they got relegated from the First Division was a few days after I was born...

Tugay signing wasn't popular when it happened.

I fell off my seat at how cheap those menu prices are. Anyway, if Mrs JDT is opening an establishment in Whalley, I would guess it will be more Noma than Holly Tree Chippy.
