  1. Why are we talking about Buckley, our captain tomorrow evening?
  2. Surely they are using the same system as happened under GB/JDT? Coach and recruitment team discuss and agree priorities. Recruitment team present who could be available to the coach Targets agreed. Recruitment go fetch if they can.
  3. Swag has set himself up. "No impediment" on the money side he says. So inadequate signings this week condemn him as an utter incompetent.
  4. Recent developments at Turf Moor means this has moved from a battling but expected defeat to anything is possible. The backlash against Swag and Venkys if we lose this heroically because they didn't strengthen this week will be extremely nasty.
  5. So nothing. If we want PL football next season, I would go for broke and splurge the budget on 4 PL quality loans. Not a popular opinion and not sustainable in the Championship but it would give us an entertaining season and a gambler's chance at 170m
  6. This week's big derby fixture sees the Tangerines visit Ewood for the most eagerly awaited game since the last time we played them. Overwhelmed by the excitement of it all, Swag has removed 10,000 seats from sale. The injury crippled Stockport County who we smashed 6-1 at Edgely Park in the previous round promptly went to Bloomfield Road and won 3-0. Yesterday, Blackpool allowed a 4-2 advantage become a 4-4 draw at Cambridge. Safe to say, our visitors might have a defensive problem or 2 or 3 or 4... However, it will be a chance to give Jordan Rhodes a warm welcome back provided he doesn't score against us. As for our team, Tyjon, Gilsenan and Leonard are all out injured and the u-21s are leaking goals even more prolifically than the seniors are scoring them so I'd go with something close to the Stockport line-up- perhaps get some minutes into Fadz and give Duru a start in front of the adoring empty seats of the Riverside? Bucko to skipper again.
  7. Dingles ownership did a Glazers. They loaded the debt to buy the club onto the club. I'd like to say I had no idea what the Rovers line up would be confident there will be 5 high quality signings before Thursday.....
  8. Will just add three observations. Neil Yardley said there was a minute added onto the first half. JRC scored at 1 minute 50 seconds of added time- we got fortunate the ref was waiting for a break in play to blow... The reason I was confident we would win was from watching Oxford defenders when Coventry played through them last week. The two defenders near Sigurdsson were in terrible positions... The only way Pears stops the Harris wonder strike is if he is on his line by his left hand post which is the last place you want him when the ball is coming from a hurried punt from the Oxford keeper.
  9. For what its worth, the whispers I am hearing are pretty consistent that a keeper is close.
  10. As soon as the case was scheduled as item 36 in the Court, a further delay became likely. The club has had several days to prepare a comment. Nothing so far and the silence now is more eloquent than whatever eventually will be said. 10 days to the end of the transfer window and actions will speak louder still.

  12. The only way a Court deals with 48 cases in a day is if they are all sealing out of court settlements. Otherwise it is an adjournment.
  13. Came on to check for incomings, not read about outgoings. But hey ho
  14. In terms of Venkys departing, I very much doubt it. In terms of Eustace getting what he needs for a shot at the play offs this season, just maybe... I am basing that on the back office recruitment. You'd save yourself a couple of hundred grand in wage costs at least if there was absolutely no intention to fund this window.
  15. I watched bits of Oxford games against Norwich and Coventry. Norwich were woeful and Coventry wasteful. Oxford move the ball quickly and skilfully in midfield but oten mix in route 1 long balls as well. They don't make many chances but are lethal when they do. Coventry showed a high press and rapid incisive attacks can open Oxford at will. Defence is bodies on the line over organisation. Irrespective of signings or not, we have enough to win this one but we won't if we don't move the ball sharply.
  16. I disagree. His two errors at Ewood in goal for Brum were the difference that sent them down and kept us up in the final analysis. I'd say that was extremely useful for Rovers.. But i'm with you in saying forget about signing him.
