  1. I doubt there's much money floating about the "Next Blackburn Manager" market. One decent size bet will probably skew the odds massively. Unless anyone saw Lee Carsley going into Bet Fred at Mill Hill earlier on today? He could have carried on to the Wilpshire Hotel for lunch. (One for the old timers there)
  2. Which show was that on and can you catch it on podcast?
  3. Nothing's impossible but Id say there's as much chance of Carsley coming as there is of it snowing in the Canary Isles in August. He's on the cushiest of number's with the U21's, a virtual job for life if he wants it and he seemed particularly uncomfortable with the media attention when briefly promoted to England Coach. In the unlikely event it did happen though Id be fairly impressed. Very good reputation as a Coach, would presumably give the youngsters plenty of air time and would probably play a fairly attractive brand of football. In an ideal world he'd probably be a good choice after Warnock/Allardyce short term if we dont then go up.
  4. It makes your blood boil. He's part of the reason we're in as much **** as we are.
  5. Wonder why Eustace doesnt want to take Benson and Lowe with him having seen what they can do first hand?
  6. Exactly this! Well done, you manage to inject humour into the direst of situations. And unfortunately it's needed on a regular basis with these pillocks running the Club.
  7. Im not sure, I dont remember Burgin having it but he might have at some point.
  8. If Eustace's two assistants havent got get out clauses like their boss then that might be what is holding things up if we're being awkward about the terms of their departure. If they want to go with Eustace however, surely even we couldnt be contemplating putting them in charge tonight? So as it stands: Eustace is still technically our manager but presumably wont be there tonight. We dont know if his assistants are leaving or if they'll play any active role in taking the team tonight And With four hours to kick off the Club haven't even announced who will be taking the team. Way to go Rovers. And some people are blaming Eustace (who the Club allowed to have a get out clause) for the situation!
  9. For all that you wont have any blame attached to Waggott and Pasha on the basis they're only doing what they are told it wont be the owners who have so little respect for the fans they havent even bothered to tell us who is taking the team tonight.
  10. This is really sad news . He couldnt have been that old. I got to know him a bit a few years ago when he was Landlord of the Royal Oak on Pleckgate Rd. Really nice guy. RIP Paul.
  11. Have you had your head in the sand for the last 2 years? He may well be getting a slighter better salary at Derby but at the end of the day that wont be the main reason he is moving from a Club in 6th to one in 22nd. Which Im sure wouldnt have been his choice in ideal circumstances. He's moving because the owners have ceased funding the Club, we have no particularly saleable assets left, those we do have cant get new contracts and he couldnt even get a contract extension for himself. Basically we look like a Club heading for sale or administration / liquidation at the end of the 2025/26 season. Whilst I didnt think Mowbray should have got a new contract do you think Eustace should have turned a long team deal from Derby down and risked getting to the end of his deal in 15 months time in a similar position not knowing what was happening? If it was you, you wouldnt do that. As for Travis and Tronstad as joint player managers you're obviously being facetious so I'll respond in kind. Wouldnt be against it - Tronstad might be better as a manager than.......
  12. Your dislike for Eustace practically from the moment he arrived has always been completely irrational. He gave the Club a chance to retrieve the situation. Are you saying the Club SHOULDN'T have provided him with assurances about players' contracts and a new deal for himself? And if they had provided those assurances and they turned out to be empty, that's their fault not Eustace's.
  13. He's on with Neil Custis from the Sun Talksport Sunday morning 9a.m. to 11a.m. or something like that. It's usually a really really good show.
  14. Whilst Im sure it wont happen, I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat and so should the players if they've any sense. They should be mature enough to realise Rovers agreed to him having a get out clause in the contract and if they themselves received an offer they considered for be better in any respect they'd be off like a shot without so much as a backward glance. You're making the mistake of expecting Eustace to think like a fan with your rather bitter comments. That said on the basis I never want any Club to do well apart from Rovers, if his departure is confirmed I hope Derby go down without winning a game.
  15. I wouldn't want Allardyce permanently. However style of football is irrelevant fot the next 15-18 games. We need someone to come in and make them feel good about themselves and get the place bouncing. Id say Warnock with his arm round the shoulder approach and to a lesser extent Allardyce with his unshakeable belief in his own ability would be the men. The likes of Harris might be feasible if somewhat boring options for next season if we dont go up.
  16. I find it a bit odd that Derby seem to be having difficulty concluding negotiations with Eustace given how desperate he understandably is to get away from the circus at Ewood. Maybe it's just me unrealistically hoping he'll come back. Technically he's still our manager I guess? Shitshow/shambles you name it. None of it Eustace's fault. The Club removed their right to be aggrieved when they either insisted upon or agreed to the get out clause in his contract.
  17. Left field suggestion: If Travis is being particurlarly vocal and upset about Eustace walking out perhaps he should be made player manager for the game? He'll either be a resounding success or realise its not as easy or clear cut as it looks.
  18. He gave the Club the opportunity to resolve matters and they completely rebuffed him. Didnt even meet him half way. And then to add insult to injury just they issued a petty, vindictive statement ensuring he couldnt realistically have a change of heart. If Travis is pissed off with him, I hope he doesnt mind if he cant get a new contract in 12 months time.
  19. No surprise there. Dont let them off the hook. My suggestion would be the Forum insist both Waggot and Pasha attend on the reconvened date. Then, the first question to them should be: "Given you've both overseen the walking out of two exceptionally gifted young head coaches within the last 12 months, do you not feel it incumbent upon yourselves to resign?" Then if they fail to give a satisfactory response, i.e. one which accepts at least a degree of responsibility, everyone walks out. It's the only way the Forum can retain any credibility. Its time to stop being nice to them
  20. Shurely not even in Venkys/Waggott/Pasha world? Bruce hasnt pulled up any trees at at Blackpool although of course he's had the desperately tragic death of his grand daughter to contend with.
