  1. Unfair. "The best looking man in the world" Rob Edwards has also been mentioned.
  2. As I mentioned last night I think we're talking about two entirely separate things going forward. Short term for 15 or 18 games the gig (thanks to Eustace) is a very attractive proposition with no real downside. Longer term with no investment and no players the post is a dog with fleas. We need to push the boat out and be as ambitious as possible and make a quick appointment and get the best person available until the end of the season. If we dont do that and dither and/or make a "meh" appointment it will say all you need to know about our ambition. Having failed to back Eustace and then been totally unwilling to meet his concerns even half way I know what sort of appointment Im expecting.
  3. Sorry if its been mentioned above, have they actually announced who's in charge tomorrow night?
  4. And he and his band could do the half time entertainment!
  5. The fact the shortest price runner is 4/1 suggests that they havent a clue yet who its going to be and they're just plucking random names and odds out of the ether to form a market to relieve mug punters of some dough. And .......that we havent even thought about it yet and havent a clue either. Do Talksport not know about Nixon's "plan"?
  6. Dont agree with your views on Eustace. 100% agree on Waggott and Pasha only they arent "Dumb and Dumber" they know exactly what they're doing imo.
  7. I cant believe anyone with full possession of the facts is attributing any blame whatsoever to Eustace on this. Simon Jordan whist normally extremely intelligent and articulate clearly hasnt done much research on this particular matter, is taking a particular position for the purposes of a lively radio debate, and seems not fully aware of just how much worse the position has got at the Club in the last couple of years (if that were humanly possible). The point I think everyone is missing when they say "he's shafted the players" that the Club agreed to him having a release clause in his contract therefore he's perfectly entitled to leave after a week if he wants if someone comes in and meets the release clause. If he does well here then its 100% up to the Club to keep him happy, satisfied and not wanting to leave. Instead it would appear he had promises broken to him in the summer after keeping us up and that he was only appeased at the last minute and that he was also promised (genuine) backing for January which once again didnt materialise. One top of that you've got the dire situation regarding players' contracts, staff walking out in general virtually every other week including a head scout who's left and hasnt been replaced and the recent loss of the Academy head amidst rumours the Academy is to be downgraded. I dont blame him for one moment for leaving, I admire him for sticking to his guns. For those complainining about him leaving us in the lurch just remember that when we're struggling to field a competitive squad of 18 players on a matchday from the start of next season. And if the players are feeling let down by him I hope they're reminded fairly quickly he was actually batting for them and trying to obtain some clarity and security for them. To think many people complained about him being "Waggott's puppet" when he came in. Now many are complaining because he stood up for himself and the players. Can't have it both ways.
  8. Didnt Bullshit Nixon say the other day that Rovers had a "plan" that he would reveal once Eustace had gone? Is he saying anything yet?
  9. That must have taken you a while but very good.
  10. Might be stating the obvious but the Trust need to be getting to the bottom of why it's so bad behind the scenes that Eustace was prepared to take the quite unprecedented jump of jumping ship from a Club in 6th to one in 22nd. Why were the owners not prepared to give Eustace the assurances he sought or even meet him half way? Why are players contracts not being renewed? What is the thinking there? Why do the owners seem reluctant to commit to any long term expenditure in general? Is this a prelude to them selling the Club or placing it into administration in a year or two? Good luck.
  11. There are 2 distinct phases to Blackburn Rovers future now. The first is the rest of this season where the aim has to be to scrape into 6th and then try and get through the knock out games. The second assuming we dont go up is likely to be a grim slog with a skeleton staff of players. We have to at least try for the miracle scenario of promotion in phase 1 no matter how unlikely it may seem. The many failings of manager and owners cant really fuck it up as long as we make a good appointment. Contractual issues dont come into consideration until later down the line and there's no transfer window to fuck up. Im assuming that with Eustace's departure the morale of the players will be absolutely on the floor so for me thw man to put an arm round them and get them believing they're the best players in the world and playing with a smile on their faces is Warnock on a short term deal until the end of the season with a massive bonus for promotion. If we dont go up then that's then the time for the up and coming young manager who hopefully can turn water into wine. He'll have to.
  12. Because that worked so well in January! Lol.
  13. I was thinking the same myself earlier. He has taken quite a principled stance. He made it crystal clear what was required a couple of months in advance of the window opening, two or three players of additional quality to help the group in particular a striker and left winger. He was obviously told money was available but that help was not forthcoming and predictably we fell away during January. When reinforcements did finally arrive it was a rag tag assortment of short term deals and loans which arrived at the eleventh hour. None of whom are properly match fit anyway. Thats even before you consider the contract situation. Good on him for sticking to his guns and not putting up with it.
  14. Could you imagine if talks with Derby broke down? What a disgrace of a statement. The Club agreed to the get out clause going in whether it was their idea or Eustace's. You cant then cry about it if someone decides to activate it. You then do whatever's necessary to persuade him to stay.
  15. So in talks with "the Board" he was offered no new contract and no assurances over player contracts. In other words they offered him NOTHING whatsoever to stay. This must surely be a line in the sand moment for the fan base, WATR and the Fans Forum. No more.
  16. Nixon's an absolute weasel. So far up the Club's arse all of a sudden it's unbelievable
  17. I still hope so overall. As long as we dont get beat by fucking Mowbray as well.
  18. Devil's advocate mode: I want Eustace to stay, but is it a bit like the Joe Rothwell situation? Maybe they've cajoled him to stay until the end of the season but is it better having an unhappy manager on the touchline or a fired up Warnock/Allardyce for a few months?
  19. Exactly that. As he never tires of telling people he claims he lost his personal fortune at the time of around £40m.
  20. But it will no doubt be cited as a major factor if he does go. Jordan was right in so far as that particular excuse is complete bollux. Where's he's probably wrong is to wear his owner's hat and assume that Eustace will be demanding more than originally agreed from the owners because we happen to find ourselves in 6th. As opposed to the owners/Waghail reneging on previous promises made to him.
  21. He did, bang on the money, and I've always dismissed him as someone who simply regurgitates internet rumours before now.
  22. Im not in favour of the Forshaw signing at all but thought he played quite well tbf. Woodrow - good grief. Could easily have got himself sent off. Otherwise wouldnt have realised he was on the pitch. Kargbo - will have to reserve judgment, no point having a bit of pace if there's no end product. Dennis - might be something there but will probably be fully fit somewhere around the time he's ready to go back. If they werent Eustace's choices it's easy to see why he's pissed off.
