What makes anyone so sad they feel the need to do that?

I think that's a bit of a stretch to say at this stage - we've just had very one good game but before that lost three others on the bounce, the first two deservedly so and the second of those two at home against League 1 Bradford. Excellent today though, let's hope we can keep it up.

Great performance - first time all summer I've not been convinced we're going down without a whimper. I've been one of Cantwell's major critics but that was one of the best performances I've seen from anyone in a Rovers shirt for a long time. Hedges very good also - they've set the bar for their performances now and need to stick to it, not revert to type. Well done to players and Ismael who I've also dished out plenty of stick to - by far the best game under his tenure imo - we need a lot more of the same.

Im still not impressed with Kargbo, he's not a patch on Dolan based on what little I've seen of him so far. Strange game today Cantwell suddenly looks like a world beater and you'd even think Hedges was half decent based on today.

I've given Cantwell all sorts of clog since his arrival at Ewood but this is finally the sort of thing that imo he was brought in for. We need him to be the difference maker, goals and assists and taking games by the scruff of the neck, not the odd fancy flick here and there or a couple of nice passes deep in his own half which was all we saw last season (at best). Well done Todd. Keep it up please!

We're selling established Championship players and replacing them with cheap punts from obscure European Leagues. If they're not good enough, their height is irrelevant whether they're five feet four or six feet four.

Please dont try and dress this up as some sort of footballing strategy, it's all being done on the basis of reducing cost.

And all is well in chaddyworld. They could do absolutely anything and you'd either be happy with it or try to pass it off as normal. On Cantwell, him getting the captaincy is right down near the bottom of the list of things we need to worry about but just because it's happened doesn't automatically make it a good thing. I can't think of anyone less suitable personally but each to their own.

You can always match it if you really want. Just play with a smaller squad. Albeit the major problem is clearly lack of investment from the top.

Is Cantwell out of contract at the end of this season or next?
