  1. Where's the picture of Broughton next to him, grinning like a Cheshire cat?
  2. Signing the lad with Crohns sounds far riskier than signing Baradji with a stress fracture to me. In general though, am I the only one on here who's completely unenthused by the constant mention of signing players with pace and height? That's all very good IF they can play a bit as well but not if they look like they've never seen a football before when it arrives at their feet. I'd rather hear descriptors like, "very skillful player" "technically good" and "good tactical awareness" over mentions of what a good athalete they are every day. As the old saying goes - "A good big 'un will generally beat a good little 'un." However a good small 'un will generally beat a crap big'un as well!
  3. And when it doesn't work (again) he'll steadfastly refuse to bow to demands to vary his style of play.
  4. Pity you weren't playing then. From the sounds of it it bothered the senior pro's like Travis and Tronstad.
  5. Surely if nothing else, behaving and preparing for a match in such tin pot and amateurish fashion is a sure fire recipe for the players picking up muscular and hamstring strains and injuries?
  6. Midfielder number 58 possibly on the way but still no credible links to any forward players whatsoever. Grim times.
  7. We desperately need strikers in, not to sell them. Selling Ohashi or Gueye would be worse than selling Travis or Tronstad for me, at least we have plenty of options in midfield. If we did let either go, given the fact we're threadbare up top to begin with, it could only be construed as a deliberate attempt to make sure we are relegated imo.
  8. Don't know why. We dont seem to think forwards matter this season.
  9. Im glad you said it, it's what I've been thinking! What are the chances of some sort of mystery problem causing the Miller deal to collapse in best O Brien/Mcguire/Baradji fashion? Followed by RG telling us how it's an "exciting opportunity" for the other RB we signed to show what he can do.
  10. So, with eight days to go before the start of the season we're five forward players down on what we had by the end of the January window. Not that there's any cause for concern or anything.
  11. Love the way you make it sound how losing Brittain was part of the grand masterplan, has made us stronger and we need to move onto RW next! Yes - having downgraded at RB we need to downgrade from Dolan at RW as well next. πŸ™‚
  12. Lol. πŸ™‚ Chaddy seemingly proved completely wrong about Brittain not going anywhere but still coming out swinging. You're like the boxer who gets knocked spark out then when he comes round has to be restrained from getting at his opponent because he doesn't realise the fight is over.
  13. The only one it can be is B. We're no longer the pride of East Lancs let alone Lancashire and the way the Club is run and interacts now bears no resemblance to the 135 years before they arrived.
  14. Yep, no Brittain and Hedges at RW. The only thing the opposition LB will need is a deckchair.
  15. Yeah, there's no way on earth anything like that could ever happen. *Cough* (Mcguire)
  16. What's your view on him in comparison to Brittain? Upgrade or downgrade? (if it happens)
  17. I was thinking exactly this this afternoon. Every single transfer window since the Court case I get more and more despondent about the Club. The likes of Dolan and Brittain are nowhere near the best players to leave the Club. It's nowhere near a Shearer or Duff or Adam Wharton moment, hell it's probably no nowhere even near a Tony Field or a Roger Jones or a Simon Barker moment. However the plan now seems clearly to be to shed all higher earners and scour the lower reaches of European Leagues or any other League where players are paid a fraction of what they are in the Championship and are therefore still happy to come. If we can do this and remain competitive in the top half of the table or even just about survive it's a stroke of genius but as Herbie says "but..........". When you've got to the stage where the Club isn't prepared to offer competitive enough wages to retain the services of decent Championship players like Brittain and Dolan or even tempt a 35 year old centre back or a 34 year old squad player into signing a short term deal, the temptation is as you say to think "Why bother?"
  18. Don't know how many times it needs repeating. Ditto if one of Travis or Tronstad leave.
  19. That would be fine except RG has admitted incoming fees make no difference to the transfer budget.
  20. Fuck me. So our list of potential replacements is/was: Drameh X Al Sahafi X Right Winger - None identified X Baradji X Alleyne X Centre Back cover - None identified X Encouraging stuff
  21. I know nothing whatsoever about it but Im guessing he would prefer to go to Derby and team up with Eustace again, but Boro are offering more or what Rovers want so he might be forced to go there.
  22. If Brittain goes through, Baradji in on a cut price deal, then only Tronstad and Travis to offload and you have the perfect window from Pasha's point of view. Start panicking mid October when we're rooted to the bottom with Wednesday.
  23. But but..... Chaddy said he was staying. 1st X1 further weakened. Only ray of hope is it's O Rourke and he's been way off the mark for a long time concerning Rovers.
