  1. I feel incredibly sorry for Markanday. Extremely highly rated, brought in by another manager, agrees to drop down a division and uproot to the other end of the Country to commit to us permanently and get game time. Injured as soon as he gets here, new manager comes in, doesn't rate him for whatever reason and doesn't even give him a chance to prove himself. Now even less likely to get any game time due to the acquisition of yet another player who, even if he does OK, won't be here next season. Still, it's all part of the "project" eh? I suppose Huddersfield will be happy if we get Thomas back into some sort of half decent form.
  2. Bit of a wet dream for Waggott to sanction closing a stand. Wonder how long before we get this for League games?
  3. Touchy. Let me summarise the first 26 days of the transfer window for you. We are reported to be close to bringing in 24 year old Sorba Thomas from Huddersfield Town on loan for the rest of the season. No option to purchase. Happy?
  4. I know it's the modern fad but speaking personally I don't like wide men on the "wrong" side, when they cut in they're generally playing the ball in in front of the defence and it's meat and drink to clear. Bowyer started this with Conway and Marshall and completely nullified them imo.
  5. We'll see. Smacks of scraping the bottom of the barrel for a player in a position we don't particularly need just for the sake of getting a body in to me. Can't imagine the player will be over the moon to be here either. I'd rather give Markanday a proper chance and I'd imagine Dolan's stats this season are considerably better than that as well. P.S. Everyone will be delighted to hear Google Chrome working fine. Samsung Internet seemingly still not.
  6. So BBD potentially out on a pre contract agreement and three goal in seventy wide man Thomas potentially in to replace him on loan. Not even a permanent deal either. "Desperate" doesn't even begin to describe it. Edit: More yellow cards than assists this season - 23 games, 0 goals, 7 yellow cards, 6 assists.
  7. Well aware thanks, and I can only apologise to everyone. Same thing happened to me a while back and lasted for ages before righting itself for no apparent reason before eventually coming back. Was logging in using Samsung Internet and have changed to Google Chrome. Seems to have worked for this post. Thanks for the suggestion.
  8. On the technical side, any suggestions? When I try to quote anyone it also automatically highlights the quoted bit leaving me unable to type anything.
  9. That could get very expensive for you if everyone takes you on. I'll take you up on it assuming you mean the FA Cup tie.
  10. He's the ideal bloke for them to come in until the end of the season. Then get shut either way I'd have said. Hopefully from his point of view he can then disappear off into the sunset again with an eye watering bonus for 3 months work.
  11. Not sure about Gelhardt. The last thing we need is another non scoring striker. Mind you the way Broughton and the rest of the recruitment team are shaping it would be a major surprise if we beat another team to any player, ideal or not.
  12. Apologies if it's been mentioned elsewhere but Cantwell gone elsewhere. Another target missed. Keep pulling the rabbits out of the hat Gregg.
  13. Good to see our recruitment department appears to be just as incompetent as it was before Broughton rocked up. For those defending him- it's up to him to have identified and sorted any practical issues out- he'll be being paid enough to do so.
  14. Have to agree Merce, whilst bring a yo-yo Club isn't ideal it's probably infinitely preferable to being one that never even threatens to get there in the first place.
  15. Whilst it shouldnt be the aim, please explain how we as a Club would not be better off if hypothetically we threw £10m at it this window and scraped up via the play offs but came straight back down as opposed to simply not going up? We'd be in a similar position in 18 months time just with c£80mor £90m more in the Bank.
  16. Yeah but you can't have your cake and eat it. If it is indeed '"a long term project" you have to throw the likes of Phillips and Adam Wharton in and persevere with them come what may. Signing players to keep them out of the side defeats the entire purpose.
  17. Succession planning would be moving Phillips into the first team. (Wow quote
  18. In answer to Roverfan99, good question, plenty of money was spent in summer but if we had two successive January windows with minimal investment whilst placed (very) handily that would be indicative of a crippling lack of ambition from owners and management alike.
  19. In answer to MP - in general - it's becoming increasingly hard to argue against the suggestion that he is working to the owners remit. Otherwise aanyone with such a poor record would have been history long ago. On Brockhall alone, that by his own admission was his brainchild and someone else must have pulled the plug on it.
  20. Perhaps I could substitute the words "intentionally misleading" then. Not sure how else to describe a plan which had the retention of Category 1 status as it's laim when that was not logistically possible.
  21. You mean, shrinking the season ticket base to historically low levels, raising prices for a season when no-one could attend, removing affordable season tickets and failing with a scheme to flog off the training ground?
  22. We don't need another centre half. Striker who knows where the net is and a combative midfielder who can also play a bit please.
  23. On Waggott, would it be humanly possible to bring anyone worse in? I doubt it. Great post by J*B which just about sums him up. Imo we'll never succeed whilst he is here, all he seems interested in is shrinking and downsizing the Club.
  24. Whoopydoo....a point, 6 points off 14th. You'd have to think that'll be more or less the end of our run in the top 6 with Norwich, Luton, Boro and WBA soon to overtake us as an absolute minimum.
