  1. If we're talking hard men per se rather than ability, Killer Keeley over Colin Hendry every day of the week. Howard Kendall over Mokoena?
  2. Wow, the original hard man in terms of my time watching Rovers. Would be sent off before the end of the warm up these days. Seem to remember he was instrumental in the start of the revival of our fortunes at the time. RIP.
  3. Do you still not like Eustace because he isn't as eloquent as JDT and chews gum then Eddie?
  4. As per the other thread, Tronstad I'm not a particular fan of, but never fear if he's as good as everyone seems to think we'll be able to sell him for £20m if negotiations break down. Batth, Weimann, Hyam and Hedges. Really? I think Batth's been very good considering his age (much better defender than Hyam for me) but really if we're re-signing that lot it screams of lack of ambition and being happy to plod on finishing lower mid table at best.
  5. Substitute "great" for poor and I'd agree. I must have imagined us nearly going down last season with a 27 goal forward and Adam Wharton in the side!
  6. Difficult to see anything other than a resounding defeat but I thought that the other night and look what happened. Who knows? Agree with the consensus wanting to see Beck in for Hedges. I'm guessing the ridiculous kick off time is down to our wonderful local Constabulary deciding that they can't handle 8000 Leeds fans in an overall crowd of 20k any later in the day. Not sure how they'd cope if we ever did get back to the PL with the bigger crowds and having to Police games at the times Sky dictated. Can you imagine Greater Manchester and Merseyside Police asking for Liverpool v ManUre to kick off at 1.30 p.m. in a non televised slot?
  7. Not wanting to have a go at you personally as everyone else seems to be similarly fooled, if he's that good at sniffing out danger and stamping it out, why did we only stay up on the last day of last season and why were we shipping 2-4 goals a game in JDT's last half season.
  8. Tronstad isn't fit to lace Batty's boots. Im quite happy for everyone else to have a love in about him but I still can't see anything about him whatsoever. Extremely over-rated. Poor man's Travis. It was one of his slightly better games for the Club against Boro though.
  9. In the case of Wharton though, it wasn't really "modern day football" it was our illustrious owners getting themselves in trouble with the Indian Authorities which necessitated Wharton having to be practically given away to the first available suitor to keep the lights on. If we'd have hung onto him for another season or two as we should have done, we'd be benefitting from the big bucks instead.
  10. Without wishing to sound like Im defending the Club on this, personally the only one of those I'd see as a priority to get tied down would be Carter as he's the only one with any sort of resale value. On current form I'd also say Travis was well worth a new deal. The others, I'd say it's a fairly close run thing whether you'd be wanting to give them a new contract or offload them. They nearly took us down last year and but for Szmodics we'd have been toast. I'd be looking for a massive improvement in performance levels and consistency before handing them new deals. Imo this wouldn't be a Brereton/ Lenihan /Rothwell/ Nyambe type type catastrophe where we'd be seeing outstanding performers and very valuable assets just walking out for nothing. All that said, based on past performance, Waggott probably won't even get a new deal for Carter done which we can't afford at the best of times and certainly not in our current financial predicament.
  11. If you needed a replay to see it, in my book it's not "comfortably" off. The one that was allowed looked much more clearcut. (I.e. offside)
  12. Enjoyed watching Gueye doing the cheerleading at the end. Elliott Bennett carved out an entire career on the back of that...........
  13. Behave, Scott Wharton's a great player.
  14. ^Shocking game for the neutral but a very professional away performance from us which was fairly typical of us under Eustace. Solid and determined at the back but little or no quality in the final third. That said we did carve out the best of what few chances there were. Cantwell was terrible first half but was very unlucky with the goal that was ruled out (which must have been marginal at best) and then provided the assist. We need a LOT more of that from him to justify his lofty reputation. Eustace continues to do really well with a very poor squad imo.
  15. But but.......Arteta says you can look at Saka's scan if you want. Lol.
  16. Anyone see the Sheff Urd lad getting sent off v Coventry? Very unlucky I'd have thought. Would have given him a yellow and the Coventry scumbag a red.
  17. So Chaddy...... Eustace or Lampard? Lol.
  18. Lashing down with sleet/rain this morning. Wouldn't be at all surprised if we're called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
  19. Very good. Exactly what I was thinking!
  20. Yes. I meant "A lot" relatively speaking in comparison to the pitiful number I'd imagine they'll shift.
  21. Ah OK - thanks. Mental, if they came into effect immediately they'd be far better value and they'd shift a lot more.
  22. When does the Half ST kick in? I assumed that since it was being advertised now it was available immediately which would obviously make a big difference as we still have 15 of the 23 home games left to play by my calculations.
  23. Waste of space - need to get him off the wage bill if we can ASAP.
  24. In devil's advocate mode the Club website claims that starts at £20.75 per game for the BBE/Riverside etc. Pro rata, was that a big difference from the price of a full price ST?
