  1. Only seen it the once but it didn't look off anyway I didn't think.
  2. Luton? Yeah right. Not sure about Cardiff and Preston either and I'd say Plymouth have better forwards. I'll give you Portsmouth.
  3. Thought Virgin red button wasn't working as usual - its just come on at the last minute- don't know if that's a good or bad thing. Can't believe Hedges is starting - yet again. The manager needed to try something different and go 2 up top given the (non) scoring run we're on.
  4. Fun fact: Since beating us Plymouth (who are in the relegation places) have lost 5-0, 1-0, drawn 3-3 at home against Preston after being 3 down and are 3-0 down in the first half at Leeds.
  5. I think I know what you mean but what's an "alibi player" ?
  6. He's better than Hedges who doesn't even resemble a professional footballer imo.
  7. 347 minutes since we scored a goal.
  8. Looks like the annual death spiral has started even earlier than usual this season. Difficult to see anything other than another narrow escape from relegation - at best - the difference however being that this rather insipid bunch don't have Szmodics to bail them out this time round. What's happened to the lad from Brighton? Is he injured? Him and Baker seem to be totally wasted signings - why agree to them coming in if you're not going to play them?
  9. True........ but at 2-0 down, why on earth would you swap one striker for another? Beggars belief.
  10. How the hell does Hedges keep getting in the side?
  11. Didn't see yesterday's game but listened to the live commentary on Talksport 2 whilst I was driving and it seems obvious we now look as though we haven't got a goal in us. Going to be a long hard grind to 50 points regardless of our deceptively good start I fear. When's the next install.ent of the Indian Court Case due? I wonder what the excuse for not spending any money will be if the requirement to provide personal guarantees to cover funds sent over is lifted on that date.
  12. Hedges always is for me. Don't know what any manager sees in him.
  13. The trouble with O Mara was that despite being 6 ft 3 he was like Sam Gallagher relatively poor in the air for his size and jumped about five foot 8. Agree we need to try getting more crosses in when Gueye is on the pitch.
  14. That's probably fair as well, I was a fan of JDT although you can't just "sign off" because you're not happy with stuff.
  15. Why does thinking Eustace is doing a good job on a negligible budget make you a "Venkys enthusiast"?
  16. You're right. JDT is the man for a champagne budget. For a chronically under resourced Championship Club having to get by on scraps, Eustace would appear to be the far better option.
  17. Looking at that line up it's very difficult to see where the goals are coming from.
  18. Not directed at me but if I may butt in - No. But then again, neither are Pickering, Brittain, Hyam or Hedges imo. So he's far from on his own.
  19. On this occasion I'm not going to bite. Southgate's been done to death and there's no point crying over spilt milk.
  20. Brendan Rogers? Blimey. I'd Say Guardiola and Klopp were the two ideal candidates, after that Tuchel is as good as we could get imo. Look at the effect he had on Chelsea after inheriting a mess off Frank Lampard.
  21. Yup, we've already got the Southgate apologists out in force in the media like his mate Stuart Pearce saying that "the next step" on from Southgate is winning something etc.
  22. Not been able to access the site for a while. It's good to have it back. Initially I was a bit disappointed with the Tuchel appointment as I really really wanted Pep and he was always at great pains not to rule himself out of the running so I thought there was a slight chance. The more I think about the Tuchel appointment though the more excited I am by it. He's a great tactician which is what we've been lacking for the last 8-9 years. Someone to push us over the line in tight games. He's also the exact opposite of the safe no risk appointments the FA have often made in the past so all credit to them in that respect for once. I can't believe a lot of the anti German sentiment in many quarters and less predictably from the Daily Mail "A dark day for England etc". It's not 1945 for crying out loud!. Who cares what nationality the manager/coach is if he wins us a bloody tournament?
  23. Promoting someone straight from youth team football to arguably the most high profile job in world football with absolute zero first team experience in between sounds about as far away from a plan as you could get in my book.
  24. First bit - strongly disagree. Second bit - He shouldn't even be under consideration let alone an automatic selection. How often does promoting from within work in Club football? Very very rarely indeed.
  25. These games against perceived inferior opposition are more or less irrelevant. The problem is this mindset that you can give the top job in the land to someone with zero senior experience just because they already work within the annals of the FA. It's pretty bizarre really. If he wasn't already an FA man there's no chance at all he would be given a second thought for the England job nor would a top Premier League Club come within a million miles of him based on what he has or hasn't achieved at the FA.
