  1. No, I've said countless times since the recent financial problems started that if they either can't or won't fund the Club they need to go. Obviously you haven't been paying enough attention.
  2. Yes, what did you attempt to ask, or have asked?
  3. Bit puzzled by this stance Parson - do I take it then that the Management and owners could do ANYTHING and you would just continue to buy a season ticket regardless?
  4. Almost identical to Gallagher in terms of Stats. According to Wiki Gallagher has scored 51 goals since 2016, Hogan 47 since 2017 although he did have a 21 goal season with Brentford in 2016. On that basis a massive thumbs down, the only caveat being that if there was another (decent) striker coming in as well, at age 32 he'd probably be no worse and a lot cheaper wage wise than Gallagher
  5. If I may butt in he's done considerably more than Southgate whose only achievement at Club level is to get Middlesbrough relegated from the Prem. Poccetino arguably also vastly overachieved at Spurs for a period reaching a Champions League final despite not being financially backed by Levy.
  6. Out of that grizzly bunch I think O Neill might be the least worst. I'd be asking the question of Klopp, Guardiola, Ancellotti, Poccetino and Ange Postecoglou personally. Guardiola and Ancellotti's contracts expire in 12 months so if either of them were interested, it might be worth putting in Carsley in the interim.
  7. It's the archetypal "Get behind the lads FFS" post. Albeit he/she replied in very polite fashion to me. You're right though, headline fee of £18m for Wharton plus around £5m from the Raya sell on and it's almost like Waggott and Co are hoping no-one will notice - the narrative is "Blackburn have no money" as if those windfalls never happened.
  8. Don't wish to be rude but I couldn't disagree more with that. Firstly we haven't signed anyone yet. Being linked with someone means nothing unless we actually bring them in so supporters are perfectly entitled to be concerned at the absence of signings to date. Secondly however if we are linked with someone then it's fair to assume the Club have expressed an interest so why shouldn't we the fans be entitled to express our views on the player before he signs? Not every signing is a successful one. If the fans express opposition to a signing and the Club sign him anyway then the situation is a bit different. You should temporarily park your misgivings and give the player a chance to prove you wrong but all this narrative that you should be in favour of everything that happens, no matter what, right or wrong is extremely wearing, it's not that different to Southgate inferring that you shouldn't be criticising England if they're playing badly.
  9. All of that presupposes there is money to spend and every indication so far has been very much to the contrary.
  10. He's commented it's happening but he's right, it would appear he's shrugging his shoulders as opposed to whinging about it which is incredibly worrying if a large enough section of the fanbase are equally indifferent.
  11. So you admit we're being run into the ground but you're not particularly bothered about it. What an incredibly strange point of view.
  12. Semi finals absolute minimum. In a way, given we didn't win it anyway, maybe it would have been better if we'd gone out against Slovakia as we deserved because that would have been a more accurate reflection of our performance during the tournament. By limping unconvincingly to the Final it seems to have fooled everyone into believing all is well - 2 successive Euro Finals yada yada. Question: Do you think We've progressed since losing the 2021(?) Euro Final to Italy? Whilst I didn't hear what he said in full, Harry Redknapp apparently nailed it by commenting we didn't play with any pace.
  13. He said numerous times during the tournament that he and the team were having to work in a "strange environment" or words to that effect which was a clear reference to the stick they were (rightly) getting from the pundits and the fans back home for their performances.
  14. I agree. On Southgate thank God he's gone, plainly should have gone after the first Euros final, it was obvious from that point on we'd never win anything with him in charge and We've wasted three years and two tournaments. After eight years we still don't really have an identity or style of play and went into the tournament experimenting with TAA in midfield. As for the next appointment the FA need to be really brave and think outside the box for once. Klopp, Guardiola, Poccetino etc would be ideal but there must be some other absolute top class foreign coaches out there with a slightly lower profilewho would jump at the chance.
  15. Give over. We stunk the place out all tournament and according to Southgate it was the fans and pundits fault. The criticism from Shearer and Lineker was constructive and well deserved.
  16. Adrian Bevington former head of Comms at the FA this morning summing up everything that's wrong with the organisation. Said that we need someone to front the organisation. No we don't. We need the best manage to win football matches rand trry and bring home a trophy NOT a politician. Nearly 50 years on from Brian Clough they still haven't learnt.
  17. That mythical new striker is going to have to be a bloody good 'un given that arguably there's barely a goal in the other 3 combined.
  18. Don't tease - he's getting prickly because we're getting nearer and nearer to the season start with no sign whatsoever of the players he has confidently predicted all summer would be coming in.
  19. You two need to get a room! (roversfan99 and chaddy)
  20. Don't know why we bother looking at this thread, (I'm as guilty as the next person) reading about players we are allegedly "monitoring" or "interested in" or "in a race for" who we subsequently don't go on to sign. Don't expect anything to happen until after the Court hearing on August 20th but even if we get a favourable outcome then I expect the narrative will be that "we tried our best" but didn't have time to get our targets in before the window closed ten days later.
  21. Would you rule out Poccetino on that basis then? He's the only other person I can think of I'd really want other than Klopp and Guardiola who probably wouldn't want it anyway.
