  1. Nice cross from Brittain, great movement from SS. Game over.
  2. He can look forward to receiving his Peter Jack...oh. Anyway, Pears hasn't dropped his clanger yet, Hyam has been really good, Trav good and Gueye impressive. Dolan took his goal well and Hedges looks fine down the left. I'd suggest we need to replace JRC down the right, either with Ohashi or Markanday and we should kick on the in 2nd half. Pleasantly surprised with the patches of quick tempo passing and movement, enjoyed most of that first half.
  3. Impressed with our first 30 or so minutes. Moving the ball sharply, some nice movement and Gueye looks an upgrade on Gallagher. Yes, Derby are shite, but I'm happy with this so far. Looks a decent turnout also.
  4. Agree with this and the jury is very much still out on JE. However, what worries me more is what shambles will follow him, now we're back in the hands of people who thought that Duncan Ferguson and Owen Coyle were the best men for the job at those respective times. We have no Broughton to pull a JDT out of his arse anymore.
  5. Ohashi was a free transfer and I can't believe that we spent £1.8m on Gueye.
  6. ...what did he try to accuse your mum of? I should have known better to get mildly excited about the idea of even a semi competent GK being brought in to replace Calamity Pears. De Lange was never in any danger of happening in reality, was it?
  7. Embarrassing, yes. Surprised? Absolutely not. This is modern-day Rovers, run by people who just don't care any more.
  8. Do the Trust have a Communications Manager / person? If not, they should consider getting one. It is very good news that they've spoken with Pasha, but (as has been said), just a very brief holding message could have saved this bit of drama.
  9. 1. Winners of the Championship - Leeds 2. Runners-up in the Championship - Luton 3. Championship Play-off final winners - Sheff Weds 4. Where will Rovers finish the season? - 15th 5. Which 3 clubs will be relegated from the Championship? - Derby, Oxford & Stoke 6. Who will be the first club in the Championship to change manager? (For whatever reason) - Dingles 7. Who will be the BRFCS Player of the Season? (As voted for in the Match Centre on BRFCS) - Our new GK (when he arrives) 8. A wildcard prediction for something (possibly quite mad) that will happen to or at Rovers during this coming season - New owners by the end of the season
  10. Yes - and the quote I was responded to was advising that the M6 turn off for both locations could be the same. As I travel from the other direction, I didn't know this.
  11. Fair enough - I come from the Blackburn end, so I'd travel via Whitebirk 👍
  12. No, it's not close to Brockhall Nature Reserve - the training ground is close to Whalley (north of Blackburn).
  13. I don't know anything at all about this possible new GK. But he's not Pears, so I'd be delighted if there is actually anything in it. Sheffield at home would have marked Pears' card as far as JE was concerned - and rightly so. If we can get a decent GK in as well as a couple of Prem loans, I'll admit that they've done a decent enough job of this transfer window. We were told weeks/months ago that there were funds for transfers, so it's nice to see some bodies in the door.
  14. Chris Samba being the exception I guess, though he was an absolute unit. Pleasantly surprised with Ohashi's English. Better grasp of the language than a lot of the locals I know, to be fair.
  15. Yeah, it's no coincidence that his hit rate has improved since Park returned to the club. That said, Park really shouldn't be divulging that kind of information to red-top hacks (if it's indeed the case). Nice to see a couple of signings though, seems the 'send' button has been discovered finally.
  16. He, along with all of the senior club management (including Rudy and JE) were at Brockhall tonight, with gates open to the public. I was up with my lad for a coaching session, but would have been the ideal opportunity for a protest, had people known in advance.
  17. Surely anybody with a functioning brain cell can see that this is the case. Talking of a 'windfall' if we sell SS for £12m. He won't go for £12m, we won't dictate the terms of when he leaves and, when he does go, we'll be lucky to get 10% of the fee to reinvest in the playing squad. Feels like Nixon is getting his information either from agents (trying to whip up interest in their clients) or has a relationship with Park and is reporting on our 'wish list'. How many players has he linked us with this summer so far? Scattergun approach, as ever.
  18. Quite the opposite - Adam Wharton and Ashley Phillips being the most recent batch, but there have been plenty before them. Our Academy is probably the one thing they appear to have got right, with regular multi-millions invested to keep it running to the level it does. Have a look at some of the players it's produced over the years.
  19. I suspect there would be a lot more traction/engagement with a protest right now. And rightly so; the club is a complete shitshow. 12 months ago, at least we had the glimmer of hope that JDT could again overachieve with the quality of squad available to him, but we all know how that panned out. We can't just sit back and allow all of this to happen right in front of us.
  20. And I was just passing on the info from someone who's been extremely reliable - they told me the full details of this season's kits months before they became public knowledge, for example. They've not been wrong about anything they've told me so far, so expect the £8m/gentleman's agreement to be legit.
  21. I genuinely don't mind us selling players - SS deserves a shot in the Prem and, well, Sam G just isn't up to it. But the fact that we're not investing and seemingly planning on relying on a wafer-thin squad supplemented by Academy kids worries me greatly. I hope that it's Venky's recouping as much as they can before they finally piss off, but the damage left behind could be catastrophic.
  22. I think Henry was a better all-round player, but Shearer the better goalscorer. I probably should have made that clearer - Shearer was the best goalscorer this club (and the Premier League) has seen, in my opinion.
  23. None better in my opinion, either for us or in the Prem era. When you look at the sheer number of goals he scored for us, in the amount of games he did it in, and against the quality of opposition he played against in the Premier League, nobody comes close. Feel fortunate to have grown up with this man as our striker. You felt like you were 1-0 up before games even kicked off.
