  1. Obvious club post is obvious. And written by somebody who doesn't know our history very well. Fans moaned in 1994, did we? Sutton had literally just signed for us and hadn't played a competitive game. Flowers was an exceptional GK and Sherwood was our club captain - far, far away from a 'luxury' player. Nice try, whoever wrote this, but our fans are (mostly) clever people and you cannot fool them into believing things that just aren't true.
  2. The image shared earlier was of a completely different Japanese lad. Based on the last few transfer windows and the people involved, I have zero confidence that this deal gets done. Also, Waggott pretending he holds any sway in SS' departure from the club is hilarious. He'll leave whenever the agreed figure is met, irrespective of whatever 'deadline' he's set - otherwise he's lied to the player and his agent.
  3. I found that more amusing than it had any right to be. Laugh or you'll cry, I guess. There's no release clause for SS. But £8m was the agreed number between player, club and agent. If it's announced as 'undisclosed', it's definitely £8m.
  4. What kind of monster would put the colours claret and blue on the same sh...
  5. Just be honest/genuine or say nothing. It's insulting to the fans to be anything but the above. JDT managed it just fine.
  6. He certainly sounds like the kind of player that could turn into a gem - I'm sure Evan Ferguson (Brighton) followed a similar path in the Irish league.
  7. Sometimes it's better to say nothing than risk sounding stupid.
  8. I'm not surprised that JE is considering his future already - the writing is well and truly on the wall as to which direction the club is heading. The bigger worry for me is who'll replace him, considering Duncan Fucking Ferguson was Waggott's choice before Broughton arrived and pulled the plug at the last minute. Once again, nothing will improve at the club until the underlying cancers are removed.
  9. I suspect this is Nixon taking the piss. He appears to be cycling through the easy links again - Batth, Brannigan, there was another that I've forgotten. Genuinely don't expect anyone of significance to join this summer. No chance for the likes of Cooper and Begovic, never mind some proper signings. We've not been able to even get a 37 year old free transfer over the line; that should tell you everything.
  10. Honestly, I couldn't care less where the next coach comes from as long as he's able to win something with us. Bit insular to restrict ourselves to 'English only' managers, particularly so when they're all Southgate-flavoured shite.
  11. Waggott: "Don't know what you're on about, I've never noticed any green stuff all over the stadium..." He must walk into the stadium every day/week with his eyes closed.
  12. I was told (and posted) at the end of the season that SS would go for around £8m - it's what had been agreed between player, club and agent at the end of last season, before we went away. Same person who told me exactly what the kits would look like back in May, right down to the roadmap effect on the pink 3rd kit. Hasn't been wrong yet.
  13. Mine is - just on one of the shoulders, not too far from Ewood Park! I like it, 3 good kits this season, in my opinion. As for anyone not liking it 'because it's a girls colour'...get yourself a hobby or something.
  14. Agree with the point that Waggott needs to put his big boy pants on and front up to the media (well, the fans). Tell us what is going on. What we should expect in the transfer window; set some expectations. Why all of the backroom changes, including Rudy's role. It's the absolute basic level of leadership.
  15. You can add Martin Dahlin to that list as well. Should have been a cracking player for us, but for back injuries.
  16. Last few kits I've bought have been via DHGate - take a couple of weeks to come (from China), but the quality is incredible. Not bought Rovers kits, but a few for my lad (PSG, Al Nasr, Atletico) and they're perfect replicas and around the £12-£15 mark.
  17. That kit is nice, in fairness. Planned on going to this, but my lad had an away game and the times didn't work. It's only ever a fitness exercise at this stage of pre season, but a win's a win.
  18. Yeah, I'd agree with that. I thought Palmer made a big difference when he came on and should start the next game. Saka played well and I was pleased to see him put the penalty away, after 2022.
  19. 5 very, very good penalties. That's about the best thing I can say about tonight. Really dull, uninspiring...a Southgate performance, I guess. Have to be better.
  20. Certainly feels like we're heading towards an end game right now. Downscaling of the women's team, selling off assets from the men's team and not investing in new players, staff leaving with quite clear messages as to why, novices being hired in key backroom staff positions, etc.
  21. No, not much at all recently - other than any transfer activity is likely to be late in the window, mostly due to the Euros and then the usual post-tournament scramble. Not heard any names of who we'd be looking at, but I'm setting my standards at rock bottom - couple of frees and loans.
  22. The blatant downscaling of the club has been accelerated. Wait until the window shuts, we've sold the last of the saleable assets and are passing off promising Academy kids like Tyjon as viable first team players. Roll on August...
  23. You can only assume there wasn't a buyer for Pears. But if getting rid of one of them means a proper number 1 comes in, it's not bad news. However, if we've learned anything in the last 13 years, it'll still be Calamity Pears as number one and Nick Michalski deputising this season...
  24. This. Embarrassing to be celebrating that.
  25. Honestly, feel a bit bad for Slovakia. We don't deserve to be 2-1 up, absolute horse crap.
