  1. Dyche is a level above us and would want wages we'd never pay. But if there was a slight chance, he'd be incredible for us. Anyone dismissing him because of who he once managed...give your head a wobble.
  2. Final, without a doubt. Can't imagine a much sweeter final win (at this level) than beating that lot at Wembley. Conversely, the defeat would be that much more painful. Would make for a cracking game either way.
  3. Completely agree. Has the know-how and experience, as well as being a very good motivator and man-manager. I saw somebody use his age as a reason why not to get him earlier in the thread. Give me a 70-odd year old man who knows the job inside out over someone who's been managing for 5 minutes. We need experience right now.
  4. Agreed. Some players just seem to 'fit' the club - and early signs suggest that Sanderson is one of them. Really like the look of him.
  5. He didn't. But his agent did.
  6. So, our FA Cup trophy cabinet alone is fuller than their entire trophy room? Their city has a larger population than our town, I'll give them that one. Literally everything else about Rovers is significantly larger than Derby.
  7. Other than Nyambe, I genuinely couldn't name one of them. They're bottom 3 for a reason.
  8. I wouldn't have thought that compensation works like that, surely? Wolves broke the terms of the contract and made him redundant. Gaining employment elsewhere shouldn't have any impact on this compensation. Though I do agree with the final point; I can't imagine we'd be willing to pay anywhere near that level of salary he'd have likely been on.
  9. He definitely looked more comfortable on the right, in the second half. Should have scored that header in the first though, after some good work by Gueye.
  10. To the original point, it did cross my mind towards the end of the game. MoM: Ribeiro Goal: Forshaw Assist: Kargbo Solid at the back: Sanderson The signings definitely played their part today.
  11. To be fair, the first round is apparently Skype-style interviews, so quite possible.
  12. I think we were more cautious/patient under JE - certainly in a game like this. Whereas what we should do (and did do today) is start positive and stay on the front foot. At 1-0, we'd often drop deep under JE and invite pressure; we didn't do that today. In complete fairness, I think we're benefitting from a lot of work JE's team have done this season - our defensive organisation, work off the ball, etc. But Lowe/the coaches have clearly tweaked the match day instructions and it's paid off in these last 2 games.
  13. Genuinely don't think we play like that under Eustace. One of the better performances this season, when we often struggle to break down the lower-placed opposition at home. I was critical of Dolan at HT, but he had a very good second half. Ribeiro is ace. Very good week, credit to all of them.
  14. See the difference with Cantwell when we play at a proper tempo and the players around him are passing and moving? Dolan is so wasteful, ACD not much better. Ribeiro looks like he's been there for years. Get Dennis and Karbgo on for Dolan and ACD and we win this one quite comfortably.
  15. And with most of the teams below us to play, at home. Failed to win a single home game. I got pelters at the time, as we seemingly should have been grateful for him 'keeping us up'. Bollocks. He almost took us down.
  16. Strange how opinions can vary on things like Big Sam, isn't it? One of my favourite eras - I loved seeing us grind out wins and be hard to beat. Big fan of Sam, I think he's massively underrated.
  17. We need to keep that galvanised spirit going into the weekend - as ever, things like form and momentum mean everything in this league. I'd be tempted to go with the likes of Dennis and Kargbo from the start and try to get some early goals. But I suspect we'll go with the more cautious approach of Dolan and Hedges as starters, to give us that wide defensive cover for the fullbacks - which worked really well at WBA. Then the more attacking boys will come on in the second half / final third to try and win it for us. Personally, I'd be brave and go for it from the start - first goal usually tells.
  18. Warnock or Allardyce to the end of the season. Get them organised, get them motivated and see where it takes us. We need an experienced hand, both short and long term. It worries me that this isn't abundantly clear to the idiots currently running our club.
  19. I've been saying this for some time - JE's record last season was horrible and almost took us down. We had been in the top 6 and in the top half for the majority of that season and, whilst we were on a dire run of form, we were never in a relegation battle prior.. JE failed to win a single home game despite us playing most of the teams below us at Ewood and, owing to some Sammie Szmodics heroics, we pulled out a couple of shock away wins at Leeds and Leicester to just about stay up. But we very, very nearly went down and his negative approach/performance would have been a big part of that. This season has been an overall big success and he takes credit for that. But last season was pretty horrific - and if I was a Derby fan, I'd be very worried.
  20. You'd imagine that he watched Derby struggle to muster a single goal at home in a big relegation 6-pointer last night, then saw our result tonight. And had that feeling in your gut when you know you've fucked up a big decision.
  21. Done the player ratings and saw that Ribeiro, Dolan and Buckley were all way below (circa 6 ratings). If you can't see that all 3 had very good games tonight, you either didn't watch the game or you have an agenda.
  22. So many big performances tonight, Trav, Hyam, Dolan, obviously Big Mak. Pears hasn't put a foot wrong, Buckley has been good. Best team performance in a while.
  23. He's been getting progressively better with each game recently, as you'd expect (with a run of games).
  24. What the hell has happened to Gueye? He looks a completely different player.
  25. David Lowe's blue & white army...👀
