We are absolutely dreadful. JE must have the worst ‘new manager bounce’ in history. At least we’ll win a few matches in League 1 next season.

I thought everywhere looked as full as they have for some time, even down in the corners of the JW. Exception being the Walkersteel, as ever. But c22k will about right - spare pockets around the ground, top tier of the Blackburn End and the gaps in the Walkersteel would add up to c7k-8k.

John Eustace - our head coach

I'm not sure how much he's been able to influence in such a short space of time, with minimal time on the training ground. I'll remain hopeful, but I'm not convinced either way just yet. JDT spent 18 months embedding and implementing a style of play, which we saw work particularly well against a few Premier League sides - so last night wasn't a massive surprise for me. You'd hope that it'll be a tweak of how we've been playing, to make us more pragmatic and maybe even reactive to the opposition. Poor start in the league so far (against some of the worst teams in the division), but hoping last night's performance could be a spark for us. -
The Aynsley Pears depreciation thread.
Andy replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I’ve been on a bit of a rollercoaster with Pears. When he was number 2 to TK, I always said he was a decent backup, despite the odd clanger. Then, as first choice, he dropped a few more and I was pleased to see us bring in Leo. But since returning from injury, he’s barely put a foot wrong. Last night was the best GK performance I’ve seen from a Rovers stopper in as long as I can remember. Immense. That double stop at the end was worth the entrance fee alone. -
I thought literally everybody played well tonight, but Pears and Wharton were exceptional. Having a bigger crowd can’t have done any harm either, just a shame the club can’t attract 20k-25k more regularly - you can’t beat that kind of atmosphere. What’s important now is we take any confidence from that into the next league game. Oh and really pleased with Markanday’s Poundshop Messi impression, thought he was excellent.

Rovers Rumours & Speculation

All bias aside, surely Rovers would be a more attractive proposition than Brentford? Brentford have a few years of Prem money in the bank, granted, but for facilities, history, potential, you'd take Rovers. As a rebuild project, it wouldn't take too much time or money to get us back to the level Brentford are currently playing at. -

I must admit, I agree on this. He sounds a very, very young lad and I'm all for giving people a shot, but he's not cut out for it. Just doesn't have the voice. Which, for a stadium announcer is like a boxer not having arms or a swimmer being aquaphobic. -

As shite as the match has been, I think Pears and Pickering deserve a bit of credit. Pears has made some good saves and has looked generally pretty solid. Pickering has shown us what we've been missing at LB/LWB, including the assist from a set piece. -

I'm sure I saw that Vale had scored 2 in 2 since joining (insert random Scottish team here). But yes, Gilsenan needs to be given a shot in the side - can't do much more. -

100% agree. They clearly think that the whole thing will blow over if they close their eyes and put their fingers in their ears. It will not. The fans deserve an explanation. -
Good bloke, fingers crossed it's something that is fixable.

After the last hearing was postponed for what was effectively a village fete, I'm not confident it'll even go ahead. And if it doesn't, where that leaves the club is anyone's guess. -
Thought he looked good tonight, a level or two above Ayari and Garrett.

My stream died for 5 minutes at one point of the 2nd half. Genuinely the most enjoyable part of that game. Dreadful. -

I thought Chrisene was ok against Stoke, but since then - especially tonight - he’s been very poor. I can’t believe that Batty would be any worse. Garrett really poor on the ball tonight, glad he’s just been replaced. -

Quite possibly the worst half of football I’ve seen in recent memory. Both sides have been horrible, can’t even do the most basic tasks. Mildly amusing listening to the Cardiff commentators, saying what a great first half performance it’s been for them. -

Disagree with this mentality. Ie: I'm older than you, so I'm a superior supporter. It's obviously bollocks. I didn't choose when to be born, so the early 90's is the furthest back I go. That doesn't make me any less of a supporter than someone who happened to be born earlier than me. -

I must admit, I did think the same whilst watching on Sat. I don't know too much about him, prior to joining us, so not sure if he's a stocky lad naturally or he's carrying weight. -
Well worded and sums up how I feel. Best will in the world, Eustace is another middle of the road plodder; another Mowbray. JDT (to me) represented a chance to do something different. A proper style of play / identity. Some ambition, some optimism that he might drag the club - kicking and screaming - to an upwards trajectory. But now he's gone, the best I can feel about the club is ambivalent. When Preston's goals went in today, it barely registered with me. That situation is usually a gut punch, but now it's just...meh.

I think that's a bit harsh. He was terrible today, but he has had some good performances further up the pitch this season, most recently away at WBA. I think there's more of a player there than the likes of Lowe and Travis, to be fair. -

If Leo concedes that 2nd goal (an own goal, no less), everyone loses their shit. We are just too easy to play against. -

Was she not the female protagonist in the Terminator films? I mean, if she can press 'send' on a webform submission, then she's technically more skilled and competent than the incumbent.
